As the host of The Clay Edwards Show, I'm back in the saddle after a few unplanned days off, feeling like I've been shot out of a cannon. This episode hits hard right from the start—I open up about the sudden loss of my best friend Corey McDonald, who passed away unexpectedly at just 48 years old. It knocked me flat, and I share how grief caught up with me in unexpected ways, like when I instinctively reached for my phone to call him after a chaotic weekend incident, only to realize he's gone. I talk about speaking at his funeral for the first time ever, choking back tears while sharing stories, and how everyone processes loss differently—some hit the field like Brett Favre after his dad's passing, but for me, trying to host a show mentally right after would've been a disaster. We dive into that viral gas station confrontation from Saturday night, where some clown ambushed me with a phone in my face, hyping himself up for clicks and views while doing nothing but flapping his gums. I break it down play-by-play: I was just grabbing a six-pack after a quick stop at a birthday party, minding my own business, when this studio gangster tried to play tough. He kept repeating "caught you slippin'" but backed down quick when he realized he wasn't getting the reaction he wanted—no violence, no slurs, just me calling him out for what he is. I explain why I didn't escalate: life's about choices, and proving toughness for the internet isn't worth jail or worse. Half the online crowd says I did the right thing, keeping my cool legally; the other half calls it getting punked. But real talk—I ain't changing a thing. If anything, this fuels me to go harder against the left-wing nuts and attention-seekers. They want me to stop? They'd have to kill me, because quitting wouldn't make them back off anyway. I'm not cowering; I'm doubling down on calling out culture rot, absent fathers, and trends in crime that nobody else wants to touch. Shifting gears, we tackle the pro-Hamas protests right here in Jackson—yes, in Fondren, with signs like "Honk for Hamas." I question who's funding these terrorist supporters and tie it back to local figures who've done similar stunts before. It's unreal how this ties into broader fights, like Israel-Palestine: you start a war, you don't dictate the terms of surrender. That's like that gas station fool trying to shake hands after realizing he'd punked himself out. In the second hour, we cover breaking news: a seventh death from the Leland mass shooting and another arrest in the Heidelberg homecoming incident—all black-on-black violence that's heartbreaking but needs spotlighting. I rant about the No Kings rally, a cosplay fiasco with protesters in weird costumes, some clueless about why they're even there, others calling for violence against MAGA folks. It felt scripted, dissipating fast like they were off the clock—nothing organic, just gaslighting. We also discuss Donald Trump possibly commuting Puff Daddy's sentence—a massive mistake in my book. No pandering; let these folks face consequences for once. Wrapping up, I touch on school scandals: a Clinton basketball coach getting 30 years for sexual assault versus a DeSoto County lesbian pastor getting house arrest for the same—unfair sentencing that screams privilege. And don't get me started on woke teachers pushing trans flags and safe spaces in Mississippi classrooms; it's grooming, plain and simple. Plus, a fresh Kamala Harris word salad on "hope" that's as incoherent as ever. This is unfiltered, no-sugar-added talk—strap in for the reality check. Catch the full episode on Apple, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Clay Edwards, fighting cancel culture and the soul of America, one raw truth at a time.
Joe and Brennan recap week 5 of the NFL season, covering the Jaguars vs. Chiefs, Bills vs. Patriots, and Seahawks vs. Buccaneers, as well as a few others. They then recap some of the College Football scores from the weekend and play the game that's sweeping the nation. Then they quickly go over the WNBA Finals, MLB Playoffs and Fulham's loss to Bournemouth. Cheers!

Aaron Sarnecky is celebrating the 10th anniversary of Better Call Saul, but his brother is conspicuously absent. Filling in for Josh is Alex Marcus, Podcast Director of The Pop Break. Alex previously discussed Breaking Bad with Aaron. Better Call Saul is a legal crime drama created by Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould. It is a spinoff of Breaking Bad. It premiered on AMC on February 8, 2015. The show ran for six seasons and a total of 63 episodes. It ended on August 15, 2022. The show had a short-lived animated prequel on AMC+, entitled Slippin' Jimmy. The series chronicles the evolution of small-time attorney Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk) into the morally corrupt lawyer Saul Goodman from Breaking Bad. It also reveals Saul's future living under an assumed name. Other returning characters include his eventual fixer Mike Ehrmantraut (Jonathan Banks) and drug distributor Gus Fring (Giancarlo Esposito). New characters include Jimmy's romantic interest Kim Wexler (Rhea Seehorn), his brother Chuck (Michael McKean), Chuck's legal partner Howard Hamlin (Patrick Fabian), drug dealer Nacho Varga (Michael Mando), and cartel leader Lalo Salamanca (Tony Dalton). Like Breaking Bad, many critics consider Better Call Saul one of the greatest television shows of all time. Some even hail it as better. It was nominated for 53 Emmy Awards with no wins (a record for nominations without a win). Nominations included Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. Aaron and Alex chat about their exposure to Better Call Saul before going into the two-night series premiere, the general plot, the performances, the connections to Breaking Bad, and the series finale. They also ponder the potential for another show set in the Breaking Bad universe. For a podcast on another prestigious TV series, you can listen to Aaron and Josh talk about Game of Thrones. Better Call Saul is streaming on Netflix.

In S4Ep22 of the PRP, Adam jibber jabbers with emerging long distance runner, proud Huron 100 Pioneer, aspiring mountain adventurer and all around good vibes ambassador Nick Insley who has been preparing for the JFK 50 Mile on Saturday November 23rd, 2024. Sarah Insley, blossoming run for fun enthusiast, curious yogi and Nick's big sister joins the show to offer her take on all things troll lore, Kirkland ‘za and of course, privileged pooping. The siblings regale the PRP listenership with the tale of how they both rediscovered running as adults (kinda together but also kinda separately) after each having mixed relationships with the sport as kids. For Sarah, her relationship with movement has been one of finding joy & building self confidence while also discovering a zen space to help quiet the anxiety of her everyday life. For Nick, running has provided a conduit for discipline and personal growth through learning when is best to push through and troubleshoot difficult situations vs understanding when is best to step back and take a breath. Things get vulnerable when both Nick & Sarah reflect on how each of their unique personalities have bled into the way they've cultivated their kinship with the sport. As much as they both love to race, running is starting to take on a new form of significance in their lives as they start to discover the value of running beyond the bib. Whether that be the day to day value of getting some fresh air and movement in, to designing their own long distance routes and running them solo, to pushing their limits chasing established FKT's - one thing is for certain; the Insley's are not afraid to march to the beat of their own drum and you better believe that this brother and sister duo is just getting started! Wait, HOW long has the JFK50 been around?! Just how in depth is Sarah's snack research?! What exactly is the trifecta of half marathons? Errr was Nick in the Jr Olympics?! Slippin discs?? Yoga by candle light? Ok, what exactly is the vest of shame?! How bad does Nick want to be Mike Anderson Jr?! Recess kids?! Refined pallets? Pacer tests, red velvet cake and Strava bromancing oh my! This and so much more in this amusing, encouraging and thought provoking episode of the PRP.
