This is the last episode of our Wonder Women Podcast Season 1. We'll return at the end of January 2019 with a brand new set of episodes. Stay tuned for conversations with #NASA #roboticts experts, world #travelers, explorers of the human soul, women in #international #politics, women in #AI and #blockchain, women in art. We'll also more focused on getting the #maleperspective, so we'll be talking with a few #men on how they see our society change and what that means for men and women. We're very excited about Season 2. S1E25 #womeninfinance #401Kfails #financialadvice #retirement #WealthBuilding Today we’re talking about finances, again. And we’ll probably be doing that again in the future as well. We’re realizing the massive differences in where women are financially, and where we should be, we’re seeing that women get to retirement age with about 50% of what men do, so today we’re talking about finance, about money, about the women in that industry. It’s a fascinating conversation and it includes a deep dive into our current tax code and its long-term implications for us and the next generation. Today we’re touching on all of that in our conversation with one of America’s Top 100 Financial Advisors, our Wonder Woman of today, Ms. Rebecca Walser, of Walser Wealth Management. She’s the CEO of Walser Wealth, the author of Wealth Unbroken, and she’s an expert and national recognized Tax Attorney, with regular appearances on national television and digital media, like Bloomberg Business, CNBC, Wall Street Journal, Yahoo Finance, Fox Business, and many many more. Before I take you to the conversation, I’d like to mention our first official conference, called More Women - More Money, coming up April 4th, in Houston, Texas. The Business Magazine for Women prides itself in being the only female-focused business magazine that’s changing how women are perceived in the media, so that we can reduce sexism, reduce inequality, and increase diversity in the workplace, which will not only benefit us as we build a more equal society, but it will also increase earnings and reduce costs for corporations. Now, we’re bringing that idea to the executives in Houston, as we’re trying to improve the lives of women in this 4th largest city in the United States. Check out MoreWomenMoreMoney.com for details about the conference and to get your early bird tickets and to select your level of involvement as a sponsor, vendor, or participant. We’re excited and we’re looking forward to seeing you there! Today’s podcast looks at coding, and how that impacts our lives and the lives of the next generation. In a world where technology evolves so quickly, with exponential growth in memory storage, coding languages are an important if not a vital skill to have. #CodeIsPoetry #codingisthefuture #womenintech #vidcode Today is a special podcast because our most awesome Managing Editor at The Business Magazine for Women, Adrienne Hanard hosted and interviewed our guest and Wonder Woman of today, Melissa Halfon of Vidcode.com! Melissa’s teaching children how to code, giving them the skills that they need to create a life for themselves in a world where we don’t even know what kind of jobs they could have. It’s a platform that’s built by female developers, with a fresh and approachable interface, with over 10 Million coding projects, in over 125 countries, to date! Those are some staggering numbers. We hope you go check out VidCode.com. At this point, we are pretty sure that knowing how to code is going to be helpful. Beyond that, the future, at the rate of change that we’re going at, is looking less and less clear. Melissa has a way for the next generation to get a grip on that and learn to code now so that they can grow as the technology grows and evolves, and do it side by side. We never know what the future could bring. But learning to code seems like a very sure bet! #venturecapital #womenVCs #startups #conference #femaleVC In today’s podcast we’re looking at the financial aspect of startups and venture capital funds, and what is the women’s role and status there. Today we’re speaking with Sara Brand, Ph.D. She is currently the Founding General Partner at True Wealth Ventures, a venture capital firm out of Austin, TX, and their main focus is funding women-led startups, which is rare, but what’s rarer is the fact that the General Partners are in this case, both women. Even though their investor base is not comprised entirely by women, it is good to see that at least we can point to one venture capital fund that is led 100% by women. This is very enlightening conversation about the state of startups in the country, the funding that goes to women-run startups, and the number of women at the decision making levels across corporations and startups, and the differences between a companies with a boardroom comprised of all men, versus a company with a boardroom comprised with a more balanced ratio of male-female. #CommercialRealEstate #WomenExecutives Today we’ll be talking commercial real estate. This is yet another industry where women are not a big percentage of the leadership. Women are not making up a large number of executives in this industry. This is a conversation we need to be having because commercial real estate affects, all of our lives. Affects the building that we live in sometimes, the buildings that we work in, the buildings that we go and see art in, or go shop in, or do yoga in, or buy our wine in. Commercial real estate permeates all aspects of our lives. Today we’re talking with one of the few women in executive roles within the commercial real estate industry, Erica Henning. She’s a graduate of Cornell with an MBA in Real Estate and Finance for Wharton. Erica Henning is currently a Partner and Managing Director at Apex One Investment Partners, previously at Lionstone Investments. She is an expert in the commercial real estate field, and one of the only female executives. She also volunteers with Girls Inc., National Women’s Leadership Initiative, and the C.R.E.W. Network. #KindnessMatters #NoMoreBoxes - A Conversation with Nicholas Haines of the FiveInstitute.com Today is a new type of conversation for us. Today we’re speaking with Nicholas Haines, kindness ambassador, Chinese medicine doctor, and co-author of THE STORY OF BOXES, the Good, The Bad, and the Ugly, one fo the #TheChangeMakers, and our first men on the podcast, and our first British person. We’ve invited him to this conversation because in order for us to achieve equality we need to change not just how women are portrayed in the media, we need to change the expectations and rules that are forcing men to be a certain way and women to be a certain way. This rigidity needs to go away. We need to be allowed to live in flow, no restrictions on what it means to be ourselves. We need to destroy the boxes that we’ve been placed in, so that all of us, male and female and non-binary people, we could live the way we, individually, want to live, without external limitations. Today Nick and I will talk about all the rules that put us in certain boxes and how those boxes affect us as individuals and us as a society, and how to create a better, more connected world together. It’s a lovely conversation, with a big British accent, lol. Hope you enjoy. Today we talked about what hangups do women have with money, what reasons, rational or not, we have for not asking for a fair exchange, valuing, undervaluing yourself, how to push past that, and how to ASK FOR THE MONEY. Today's conversation is a lot about "Show me the money!", the very relevant quote from the 1996 Jerry Maguire movie. And LoriAnne is going to show us how to ask that question of anybody that wants your product or service. Years of expertise in understanding the human spirit and its drives, with years of corporate sales combine into this action-driven podcast. Enjoy. Have you considered sponsoring us?
