Just THREE Gameweeks left in the 2024/25 Fantasy Premier League season! Captaincy is wide open this week, we discuss what to do with all remaining chips - Triple Captain, Free Hit, Bench Boost and Assistant Manager and discuss differentials for the run in. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Excerpted from last gameweek's episode description: “We certainly hope that Double Gameweek 33, possibly the largest double gameweek of the season, ushers in more shout-outs than whisper-ins next week.” Update: that did not happen. Double Gameweek 33 was underwhelming, to say the least: the only attacking return from my entire attacking 7 came in the 83rd minute of the last game of gameweek, and Jakub Kiwior singlehandedly outscored my entire Bench Boost. It seems like every episode, our mantra is to keep looking ahead, and look ahead we shall do! Most FPL managers will be activating their Free Hit, so we take the bulk of this episode to logically work through the ideal Free Hit draft. There does appear to be a strong template, but nonetheless, there certainly are opportunities for mavericks to think outside the box (anyone fancy a Sessegnon-Robinson double-up?). Finally, in the Captaincy segment, we put on our divination hats—a voice in Jacob's head calls out to him, "16, 13, … 6?" What could it possibly mean?
With a few games left in GW33, we assess where we're up to so far and how Sam's Bench Boost did this weekend. We finally say goodbye to the Assistant Manager chip, for this season at least, and we look ahead to GW34, where we BOTH will be playing the Free Hit Chip. We talk scores, ranks and a pull apart a first draft of what Lee's Free Hit team looks like. A massive THANK YOU for all your support watching, liking and sharing our videos! *************** *Sam Featured on the Official Spurs Instagram Page for International Women's Day: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DG7qCdHuedg/?igsh=Z3pwcjB2Y2h2NGo1 _________________________

Welcome back to the FPL Lounge! The lads are back to preview GW33.GW33 is another double, this time involving four teams: Arsenal, Aston Villa, Crystal Palace (again) and Manchester City. Reasonably tough games for them all (except perhaps Arsenal), but with Arsenal and Aston Villa involved in Champions League, and with Villa and Palace awaiting an FA Cup semi final, how many minutes will their assets get in this double? The lads are... unsure. The radar is notably light, there, trying to focus on security of minutes rather than players with big upside. One mid-range gem could be found in Arsenal's defence, while the rest are reduced to Fringe picks, although plenty to get on board with, especially if you're playing your Bench Boost chip this week. After last week's successful Swim Against The Tide, the lads are honey trapping this week, with clean sheets and DGW points the propositions of the day. The Captaincy discussion is also fuelled by minutes risks, so is this a week where captaining a defender or keeper worthwhile? And what about a single-gameweek-Salah up against an atrocious Leicester? And is Who The Heck Is Stat?! over, with Andyt holding a 10-point lead? Can Chris do anything to make this interesting? Doubtful, but you never know...Do let the guys know on X (fka Twitter), Insta, Threads or TikTok, @FPL_Lounge, and the lads are now on BlueSky too, but without the underscore: @FPLLounge. Be sure to subscribe wherever you get your pods, so you always get new episodes in advance of the Gameweek deadline!

Alistair Bruce-Ball, Statman Dave & Chris Sutton return as Gameweek 32 concludes. Ahead of a Gameweek full of doubles, potential punishments for a possible no-show are discussed.A bench boost works wonders for this week's guest Chris Wise, but the same chip doesn't pay off for Ali.Sutton Death features the most prolific goalscorers and playmakers in Premier League history, and there's a bold strategy from this week's People's Pep as the Listeners attempt to regain lost ground in the title race.

Hail Cheaters! It was a tricky GW31 for many Fantasy Premier League managers, but the schedule is now set for a raft of double-gameweeks, beginning with Newcastle and Crystal Palace in GW32. Opportunities ahoy! Josh and Brandon discuss their plans to capitalize on chips and transfers while still navigating the looming blanks in GW34. Is it time for us to push all our FPL chips in with Isak? Or is there a better, more optimal way to go with our Triple Captain and Bench Boost chips? Plus we look at continued worries around Arsenal's form and fitness, Man City's defensive renaissance, and the dearth of midfield options. There's a lot to debate, so let's get to it! Suj and James discuss the weekend's Premier League football and it was largely another low scoring week for Fantasy managers with Mo Salah amongst many popular assets who blanked. But with Alexander Isak and Newcastle assets still to go at Leicester the outlook could look very different by the end of the day. Newcastle of course double next, as do Crystal Palace who beat rivals Brighton, but not without issues as Marc Guehi was sent off but Daniel Munoz, Ebe Eze and Jean-Phillipe Mateta all returned well. Then there's three further doubles in Gameweek 33, Arsenal and Man City both underwhelmed as they drew on the road but Villa did beat Forest, though they did it was a heavily rotated team, and there may be more heavily roattion to come across Gameweeks 32 and 33 that may concern those looking to Bench Boost. Plus, Liverpool were beaten at Fulham, Southampton were relegated and Suj's Wildcard hasn't got off to the best of starts. Tomorrow on on Planet FPL: The People's Poll, Are We Bored With Football? Long time, no see! Great to be back on the other side of the international break. So much has happened, as is still to happen, in FPL - Sam played the Wildcard this week, so we assess. the fallout and ask in which GW she should use the Bench Boost - GW32 or GW33? Lee can't Bench Boost, because he played the Assistant Manager in GW31, so is it stick or twist for him going into GW 32? We look back at all the weekend's action, including a rare defeat for Liverpool and another disappointing result for Salah owners. Spurs relegate Southampton, Villa's put a dent in Forest's Champions League hopes and Arsenal drop points at Goodison. Clayton joins James for a Podcast stacked full of important information that focus around advice for those on Wildcards now. There's a look at Wildcard Drafts setting to Bench Boost in both 32 and 33, Free Hitting in 33 and how those without a Free Hit Chip may want to consider navigating through the period of Gameweeks 33 and 34. A period that we now know is confirmed following yesterday's announcement on Gameweeks 33 and 34, but there's a warning from James of why he believes there's every chance no team doubles in GW36. And that has a lot to do with Tottenham; yes them; who lost again at Chelsea last night and the Podcast concludes with discussion on the game and why Ange Postecoglu has now completely lost the fans. @FPLUSABrian & @FPLUSABux recap the midweek mania with so many managers of the #FPLCommunity on WC30! They discuss the swinging doors moment with Haaland, Saka's return, and what to do with Gabriel. They examine Brian's chip strategy and look at options for Triple Cap and Bench Boost in GW32/33/36. Thanks for tuning in before the deadline!
Suj and James look at possibilities for those on Wildcard now with James having several drafts prepared, looking at both targeting a Bench Boost in GW32 and GW33, what difference aiming to Free Hit in GW33 would make, what planning to Free Hit in GW33 might change and there's also coverage of what those without a Free Hit may want to do and includes a set up that makes a Bench Boost viable. Many of the drafts discussed look similar and there will be some groupthink at play with Crystal Palace and Manchester City playing teams in the bottom three and now projected to Double in 33, but there is a repeated warning that the projections may be wrong. Following the FA Cup 5th round weekend it's all change again on the outlook for future blanks and doubles in FPL. Clayton joins James for a discussion on how to play Chips during Chip season with a stark warning from James: "You're all f*****" With many of the favourites out of the FA Cup the competition looks wide open and that creates complications for what can happen. There's discussion on the projected blanks and doubles now but with references for why certain things can and can not happen, with concern that we could still be in for some unexpected scheduling. There's discussion on all the chips and when best might be to use them, with awareness of the potential hinderances of some of the more powerful chips as such as the Bench Boost and Assistant Manager. Alternatives are given including a radical potential path for those who may have all their chips left. But not all is lost for those who are short with James of the belief that he can navigate the doubles of 33 and blanks of 34 without a chip... and that's because the predicted doubles may not be as kind as they appear on paper. Suj and James revisit a Podcast from 4 weeks ago deliberating which week would be best to Free Hit from the potential Blank Gameweeks of 29 and 34. There's discussion on considering the template, including the importance of Erling Haaland, and the fixtures before after GW29 when making a decision on whether to activate the Free Hit or run through the Gameweek, and that decision will need to be made without the picture for the Doubles of 33 and the Blanks of 34. There's a look at potential Free Hit Drafts for 29, 33 and 34 and James reiterates the script for the current projections and has warnings about how the weeks around the FA Cup Semi Finals may not be exactly what we think and how that can have big implications for Wildcarders looking to Bench Boost. It's Chip Strategy season! With the FA Cup 3rd round concluded for Premier League sides and with the draw for the 4th round now known Suj and James plot plans for using Chips in FPL for the rest of the season. And this year there's the added complication of the Assistant Manager Chip, so should it be used early on Arne Slot or do better opportunities await later in the season for other managers? Permutations and possibilities covered, including when FPL managers may want to use the second Wildcard and how it can set up for Chip usage. The Planet FPL Gameweek Review returns as Suj and James discuss the nind games played so far in Gameweek 1 and it was a great weekend for many who attacked the opening weekend fixtures as several top players returned well and clean sheets were on the rise with Arsenal, Liverpool, the Manchester clubs and Newcastle all managing to keep out their opponents. There's tactical insight to the games and as usual a slant towards FPL thinking with much of the advice given that managers should hold their nerve on the majority of selections and that may even include one or two players who didn't start this weekend. And it was a big FPL week for James with four Tottenham in the team and a Bench Boost active. It went well, but is the good work about to be undone in Gameweek 2 with the proposed Wildcard now unlikely to be played? That would likely mean no Erling Haaland this weekend and possibly no Manchester City coverage at all! Tomorrow on Planet FPL: The People's Poll Podcast. James details to Suj and the audience what we can expect throughout the season with Blank and Double Gameweeks and it's going to make Chip Strategy very different in this season to what we have been use to in previous campaigns. So is it safe to use the Chips early in the season? Is James' intention to Bench Boost in Gameweek 1 a consequence of this? There's discussion on options for using the Chips both in the first and second half of the campaigns, why Manchester United and Tottenham could cause a particular headache to the schedule and why we shouldn't forget The Mystery Chip will also be available in the second half of the season. Suj and James give an A-W overview of all 20 teams and the players they are considering for their FPL drafts ahead of Gameweek 1, commenting further on what was learned from the 20 Correspondent Week Podcasts and what new information was learned from each club's final pre-season friendlies. There's discussion on squad structure, enablers, premiums and specific players who may deliver returns in Gameweek 1, particularly as James continues to look towards an opening weekend Bench Boost. But with Dominic Solanke signed has he locked four Tottenham players into his squad? With the fixtures confirmed for Double Gameweek 34 on Saturday morning Suj and James cover one more time strategy for Chip usage for the rest of the season. And for James there is now clarity of what's best for him, but will Suj follow and do the same? However, not everything is clear. Tottenham have strangely been left with a blank in Gameweek 34 and it does raise the possibility of a Treble Gameweek in 37 for Tottenham and possibly Chelsea too! That won't happen though, will it? Teams are broken into 3 groups, those who won't double, those who double in 34 and those who double in 37. There's coverage of every club and when they will or won't be of interest and solutions offered for those with all chips left and for those struggling with what they have. Bench Boost 34 v 37 covered, so to is Haaland v Salah and why some will be using all their chips in 4 consecutive gameweeks near the end. Play It Your Way. Following the conclusion of the FA Cup 5th round, the quarter final draw and the confirmation of the 4 fixtures for Blank Gameweek 29, Suj and James discuss all the latest for Chip Strategy on one of the most important Planet FPL podcasts of the season. James runs through his projections for the remaining Gameweeks and the reasoning behind them, including where Chelsea v Tottenham is likely to go and which teams are likely to double in Gameweeks 34 and Double. Plus, there's discussion on permutation awareness, the need for some to still have a Plan B, navigating GW28/29 and the best weeks to use the Bench Boost, Free Hit, Triple Captain and Wildcard chips. Remember: Play It Your Way! and 'what's best?' can be very team dependent. Today on Patreon: Money in Football on the future of The League Cup and Chip Talk on a GW27 Wildcard. It's the first big Chip strategy Podcast of the season as Suj and James layout a roadmap of what to expect during the second half of the season with blank and double gameweeks and the various options available for Chip strategies. There's discussion on a now 'probable' Double Gameweek 25 for Liverpool, what could happen to the unfulfilled fixtures featuring Manchester City and Bournemouth and an understanding of the blank and double gameweeks to come during the season. There's analysis of what weeks will be popular for Chip usage of the Bench Boost, Free Hit, Triple Captaincy and the second Wildcard and why working out when to Free Hit may be defining. Is there a current optimal strategy? Plus, why too much Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham could cause a major GW26 problem that may also be repeated in GW29; why the end of season doubles may be crap for Fantasy managers and the fallout from the weekend including Arsenal losing again, the fitness status of Jarrod Bowen and Erling Haaland and Tottenham's likely purchase of Timo Werner.
