In the weekends biggest game, Leicester City welcomed Man Utd to the King Power Stadium and sent them home without a point putting more pressure on Ole. Mohamed Salah scores a beauty and provides a great assist in yet another display to prove any doubters wrong en route to Liverpool thrashing Watford. Arsenal save a point in the last seconds against an unlucky Vieira and Crystal Palace side at the Emirates. Chelsea produce a big win away to a tough Brentford side with Mendy in top form ensuring the necessary clean sheet. Tottenham pause any Newcastle celebrations, leaving St. James Park with a 3-2 win and the 3 points with Newcastle's new owners in attendance.
Kiran hosts today as he, Hunter, Chris, and Pranav return to club football and look across Europe at the past and upcoming fixtures. We explore Pranav's new favorite, Brentford, laying siege to Chelsea and the latter somehow coming out unscathed (except for maybe their egos), United (and Chris) coming out very, very scathed following a Leicester dismantling, Wolves finally scoring goals, Lazio making sure yet another of Kiran's predictions goes awry, and Juve's unconvincing win over Roma. We look at Bundesliga just to praise Bayern and argue over whether Ligue 1 UberEats is a top 5 league before previewing the (somewhat limp) rivalry week in domestic football ahead. Come for the lively debate and discussion on today's best player in the world, stay for Kiran's totally-platonic-and-not-at-all-romantic admiration of Kalidou Koulibaly on this episode of the CHiP the Keeper Podcast.
Description: The Balanced Blues Brothers are joined by the great Patrick Larson to break down what transpired over the weekend with a gritty, and arguably undeserved, win away to Brentford. Key topics include the struggles in attack, lack of service to Lukaku, winning despite playing poorly, potential issues and how Tuchel can solve them, and previewing the next 2 matches.
The weekend's action saw some elite level finishing and assisting from Salah, worldies from Tielemans, Greenwood and Chilwell, hope for Newcastle that very quickly descended into the same old shite...but the star was undoubtedly Edouard Mendy, who pulled out a masterclass of goalkeeping against Brentford. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Tottenham played Arsenal back into form. While a Liverpool draw at Brentford was enough to top alone. There's a pack one point behind including Brighton! The good teams are emerging in the NFL. LA Rams and Arizona Cardinals have set up a mouth watering clash this weekend. And Tom Brady goes back to Foxborough. Mendy catches us up with all the darts competitions. I have known today's guest for close to a decade back when I lived in Texas. Nalasi Mendy always struck me as a simple yet fun-loving gentleman whom I could crack jokes with but I never dug into his background. After I left Texas for New York I began to realize that there was a lot more to Nalasi that included being a volunteer, father, brother, Migrant ... that I had to get him on the podcast and I am so glad that Nalasi accepted my invite. I got to realize how I had been pronouncing his name wrong all these years and learn so much about his country and place of birth in this amazing episode. Episode 54: Making the Move from Para to Teacher with Jade GilmoreHave you ever had an amazing paraprofessional who you know, just by watching them work with the students, that they would make an excellent teacher? In the special ed world, it's likely you've encountered this situation and it's almost like a double edged sword. On one hand, you are happy that they are taking the leap into a new career and on the other, you're devastated because you won't have them to depend on anymore.Today's guest is Jade Gilmore. Jade holds a very special place in my heart and I couldn't be more excited to have her on the show. Jade started out her teaching career as a paraprofessional in my department and she was AMAZING. She was great with the kids, she was able to monitor and adjust lessons, she was dedicated to her job and the students absolutely loved her. But there came a day when she approached Mendy, Dane and I as her supervisors and asked us if we would support her in completing her degree. And I'm not going to lie...I was so disappointed about losing her as a paraprofessional because she was that good. But on the other hand, she was made for this and anyone who watched her work with kids could see it and so I was also extremely proud of her and we all encouraged her to make it happen. So I wanted to have her on the show today to talk about what it was like to transition into the role of a classroom teacher after being a paraprofessional. I think this is an important topic for you as a special education teacher to hear because it's likely it will happen to you one day if it hasn't already and I want you to understand the process so that you can support your para on their journey to being an educator as well.Mentioned in the Show...Special Educator Superpower Quiz
No child should ever be molested by an adult. Nor should their youth pastor be allowed to molest them, lie about it, and have his whole staff cover for him. Yet as a 13 year old girl this is exactly what happened to Mendy Hicks and others. When Mendy finally did tell at the age of 15 she was told that she was demon possessed, crazy, and was placed in a mental hospital. After she and another victim found out that their abuser was back in the pulpit, they decided enough was enough. They filed a lawsuit 3 years ago, naming their abuser, all the people who covered it up, the church, and the SBC as defendants. In this episode, Mendy tells her heartbreaking story but also shares some insight for church leaders and survivors of abuse. It's a 4 man weave this week with Erik and Mendy joining the show to preview the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. First up it's the NRL and Melbourne are clearly the class of the field at the moment. And they've been doing it without two of their best players. The AFL is throwing up strange results every week. And this was no exception. Richmond beat Brisbane, but with Dusty Martin out for the season is their dynasty finally over? And the Melbourne Western Bulldogs clash this week should be a belter. Supercars raced around Townsville again on the weekend. Where to now for a sport that doesn't have a lot of available tracks right now? Oran Park and Lakeside are no longer options. In the F1 Hamilton dive bombed Verstappen. We're not the British media so we won't defend Hamilton on this one. And then it's the Olympic preview. We run through a few of the events we're really looking forward to. Race Climbing seems to have captured the imagination of the whole team. The Basketball should be one of the most competitive on record. And Pies has found a couple of events that could bring about a world record. We finish off with some darts, NBA Finals and Tour de France talk. It's a big show. But we had fun catching up. 0:00:00 - Preamble 0:13:00 - NRL 0:58:00 - AFL 1:21:00 - Motorsport 1:33:00 - Tokyo 2020 Preview 2:07:00 - Darts, NBA Finals, Tour de France Part of the No Phony Podcast Network nophonynetwork.com Twitter - @batsandballspod Brendan - @brendansmith05 Josh - @PiesJosh Colbee - @colbee6ref Hammer - @notbatting11 Mendy - @BigMendy180 Maybo - @maybo83 Erik - @ErikNielsen2759 No Phony Network - @NoPhonyNetwork Email - firstname.lastname@example.org facebook.com/batsandballspodcast http://batsandballspodcast.com/

Jimbo, Daniel Storey, Carl Anka and Dom Fifield reconvene to wrap up club football once and for all this season. It’s a magnificent weekend for West London football as Chelsea defeat Man City in the Champions League final. We pay tribute to Tuchel, Mendy, the full-backs, Mount, Havertz and of course N'Golo Kante. Humble genius - a sure fire Ballon d’Or? Does he have to be considered an all-time great?
