Hail Cheaters! The FPL doubles of GW33 are still in full swing, but thus far it's been a story of single game-weekers—the likes of Mbeumo, Bowen, and Cunha. Ollie Watkins was, admittedly, a surprise hero against Newcastle, and fantasy investors will be hoping for another start midweek at the Etihad. Then it's all eyes on GW34 and the tricky blank fixtures for Arsenal, Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, and Manchester City. With Josh navigating the deadline with just two free transfers, and Brandon unleashing his Free Hit, it's two different strategies that should inform managers in any position. Join us as we zero in on key transfers, Free Hit must-haves, and chalk vs. differential captain picks. Hail Cheaters! It's peak chip season with Triple Captains and Bench Boosts a plenty in GW32. But GW33 offers still more double game-week action with twice the action for Arsenal, Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, and Man City. So, what's the plan? Will Arsenal and Villa be distracted by the Champions League? Is there anyone on Man City we can trust to make two starting elevens? And what chips are left to capitalize on? The Mayor of FPL Tom Campbell stands in to host the Gameweek Review Podcast with James and cover a weekend that saw disappointment for four of the five clubs who played in Europe in midweek, and it has so far underwhelmed for many who have chips active. Eyes now turn towards the next Double, with Crystal Palace, who were beaten by a Kevin De Bruyne inspired Manchester City doubling, and so to do City. Could KDB be worth a nostalgic final punt for Fantasy managers ahead of leaving at the season's conclusion? Villa, also double, but it's tough on paper and they may rotate again as they did at the weekend though we did learn Morgan Rogers truly is indestructible. So Are Arsenal the team to target for investment despite dropping more points against Brentford and with little to play for in the league? It's little to play for as Liverpool are now only two wins from the title, and James makes the case to consider assets from The Reds and yesterday's opponents West Ham despite neither doubling in the week ahead. Plus, there's discussion on captaincy for GW33, the top 5 race and how harshly should Manchester United and Tottenham, who both conceded four, be viewed. Long time, no see! Great to be back on the other side of the international break. So much has happened, as is still to happen, in FPL - Sam played the Wildcard this week, so we assess. the fallout and ask in which GW she should use the Bench Boost - GW32 or GW33? Lee can't Bench Boost, because he played the Assistant Manager in GW31, so is it stick or twist for him going into GW 32? We look back at all the weekend's action, including a rare defeat for Liverpool and another disappointing result for Salah owners. Spurs relegate Southampton, Villa's put a dent in Forest's Champions League hopes and Arsenal drop points at Goodison. A massive THANK YOU for all your support watching, liking and sharing our videos! *************** *Sam Featured on the Official Spurs Instagram Page for International Women's Day: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DG7qCd... _________________________
Suj and James look at possibilities for those on Wildcard now with James having several drafts prepared, looking at both targeting a Bench Boost in GW32 and GW33, what difference aiming to Free Hit in GW33 would make, what planning to Free Hit in GW33 might change and there's also coverage of what those without a Free Hit may want to do and includes a set up that makes a Bench Boost viable. Many of the drafts discussed look similar and there will be some groupthink at play with Crystal Palace and Manchester City playing teams in the bottom three and now projected to Double in 33, but there is a repeated warning that the projections may be wrong. Does the front 3 pick itself? Newcastle assets are covered, Cole Palmer v Bukayo Saka and lots more. Welcome back to the FPL Lounge! The lads are back to preview GW30.Shortened pod this week after the lads return from a stag do, and with a Tuesday deadline after FA Cup QF weekend, there's much to talk about! The shape of the rest of the FPL season, while not confirmed, far clearer than it was ahead of GW29, with the FA Cup semi-finalists confirmed and likely resulting in 4 teams blanking in GW34, and 4 teams doubling in GW33. The lads run through what that, and an injury to Erling Haaland, now mean for the game.Crystal Palace are going to be very popular in FPL from now until the end of the season , with three possible doubles (and two possible blanks) between now and the end of the season. With that in mind, two Eagles feature on the centre of the radar, with an additional one on the mid-range. The lads also include a City asset with upside, and doubling defenders. In a shortened pod they skip straight to captaincy, where they assess whether Marmoush and Mateta, playing two of the worst sides in the league this season, can rival Mo Salah's captaincy supremecy. If you like what you hear, do let the guys know on X (fka Twitter), Insta, Threads or TikTok, @FPL_Lounge, and the lads are now on BlueSky too, but without the underscore: @FPLLounge. Be sure to subscribe wherever you get your pods, so you always get new episodes in advance of the Gameweek deadline!
Lewis, Scott and Chris preview GW33 of Fantasy EFL! FANTASY EFL IS HERE!
Suj and James revisit a Podcast from 4 weeks ago deliberating which week would be best to Free Hit from the potential Blank Gameweeks of 29 and 34. There's discussion on considering the template, including the importance of Erling Haaland, and the fixtures before after GW29 when making a decision on whether to activate the Free Hit or run through the Gameweek, and that decision will need to be made without the picture for the Doubles of 33 and the Blanks of 34. There's a look at potential Free Hit Drafts for 29, 33 and 34 and James reiterates the script for the current projections and has warnings about how the weeks around the FA Cup Semi Finals may not be exactly what we think and how that can have big implications for Wildcarders looking to Bench Boost. And the consequence of the Newcastle v Crystal Palace arrangement for GW32 might not be as obvious for GW33 as it appears now. Suj and James assess the possibilities for using the Free Hit Chip in one of the likely Blank Gameweeks of 29 or 34. Gameweek 29 is likely to have two postponements due to the Carabao Cup Final; there is discussion on how best to manage the first Blank subject to which games are actually postponed with a look at how a template Free Hit might change subject to which games stay on. But is GW34 a better week to cover the problems? There's discussion about the best fixtures in that week and how what could happen in a possible Double Gameweek 33 will impact the Blank after, with some teams potentially Doubling and then Blanking in consecutuve weeks. And a consequence could GW33 be better to use the Free Hit Chip? The answer ultimately may be decided by the who, and when. Title dreams in tatters for both the reds? That remains to be seen but in FPL the repercussions of those upsets hit hard. Plus, things got cold
Clayton joins James for the Gameweek 33 review as there were big swings in the battle to finish first and fourth respectively after Liverpool and Arsenal both lost at home, with The Gunners beaten by Champions League chasing Aston Villa who are now favourites for fourth after Tottenham were dismantled at Newcastle. It was a difficult weekend for many FPL managers but those with Newcastle assets may have done particularly well and Erling Haaland returned well for captainers despite some fortune (or misfortune!) in his returns. All the games reviewed as usual with a focus very much on the forthcoming Double Gameweek that features Liverpool, Arsenal and a Crystal Palace team likely to get plenty of interest. Should managers also be looking at the 4 others team who double? And there's also a focus on the 6 teams who double in 37 and what Wildcarders may want to do in Gameweek 35.
