Wolfie dissects the defeat to Man City and were Forest Robbed of a point by the Referee? To Buy Wolfie A Coffee! Click Here: https://buymeacoffee.com/forestfantv The City Ground was rocking, and for large spells of this game, it felt like Nottingham Forest were about to pull off something special. Wolfie is back to react to a heart breaking 1-2 defeat at the hands of Manchester City—a result that absolutely does not tell the full story. Despite City taking the points, the Reds put in a performance of immense grit and quality, arguably outplaying the former champions and leaving Pep Guardiola's side looking completely rattled until the final stages. Omari Hutchinson's equaliser brought the roof off, and for most of that second half, it looked like Forest were the only team going to win it. However, the mood turned from pride to pure fury in the 83rd minute as Rayan Cherki's winning goal was allowed to stand. Wolfie dissects the controversial lead-up to that strike, where Morgan Gibbs-White appeared to be quite clearly shoved to the ground, preventing him from blocking the shot. We're also looking at how Ruben Dias managed to stay on the pitch after a blatant second-yellow challenge on Igor Jesus. This brings us to the big question that every Forest fan is asking tonight: is there a genuine "Big 6" bias when it comes to refereeing decisions? When the margins are this thin, how can such an obvious foul be ignored by the officials and VAR? We want to hear your unfiltered reactions in the comments below—were you proud of that performance, and do you feel we were cheated out of at least a point? Nottingham Forest were beaten 2-1 by Manchester City in the Premier League at the City Ground. It was a brave performance from Forest, who deserved to take something from the game after Omari Hutchinson made it 1-1. Rayan Cherki was instrumental for City and he hit the winner when Forest felt Morgan Gibbs-White was fouled. It was a hard-fought match, and one that many Forest fans (and the Forest manager) felt was overshadowed by the performance of referee Rob Jones - rather than playing against ten men, the Reds were up against 12 of them. The match was lively, but most of the action was in the second half, which started when Rúben Días somehow escaped a second booking for bringing down Igor Jesus. City took full advantage of that reprieve through Tijani Reijnders, before a fine counter-attacking equaliser finished off by Omari Hutchinson. The winning goal came late on, as the officials waved away various episodes of wrestling in the box, one of which prevented Morgan Gibbs-White from blocking Rayan Cherki's effort. Despite the victory, you could see that the visitors had put everything into this one, and several players from both teams fell to the ground at full-time. In this report, Rich and Baz embark on an unexpectedly ranty diatribe against the injustice of it all. We'll be back with a tribute to John Robertson very soon, and a report when Everton come to visit on Tuesday - I think - does anyone actually know what day it is? They dissect all the goals from the Etihad, talking the individual errors and tactical lapses that led to Erling Haaland's brace and Tijjani Reijnders' strike, questioning why the Hammers got exposed and why the substitutions failed to turn the tide. Jack and Cal also debate the 4-3-3 shape, whether it's time to flatten the midfield to provide better defensive width and the lack of support Oliver Scarles upon his return against Rayan Cherki. They also take at Crysencio Summerville and Freddie Potts impact and performances before finishing with a look at the chronic lack of xG creation. Hello Rank Squad! The footballing summer is officially here, with the Champions League Final crowning what has been a pretty unbelievable season in Europe all round. We start today's episode with the final word on that final, where Luis Enrique's brilliant PSG absolutely dismantled Inter in one of the all-time great showpiece performances. Then, it's onto the talk of the summer - transfer season; and whilst there will be plenty of this covered here on Ranks all summer long, we wanted to take a look at some of the deals already done or nearly done, that we have reservations about for one reason or another. Some are personal, some are club-related, and some are just a question of fit; but whilst there could and should be levels of excitement, it's important to try and be realistic as well. We discuss the details of moves for Rayan Cherki, Jobe Bellingham, Liam Delap and Matheus Cunha; and also touch on Bruno Fernandes' decision to stay at Manchester United. We finish off with a discussion of some of the deals we think are absolutely guaranteed to be a success, as well as some early thoughts on the links between Arsenal and Benjamin Sesko. It's Ranks! And remember, if you'd like more from the Rank Squad, including extra podcasts every Monday and Friday (including our weekly Postbox taking a look at the whole weekend of football) and access to our brilliant Discord community, then why not join us here on Patreon?
