“1. Anger or revenge People sometimes cheat out of anger or a desire to get revenge. Maybe you just discovered your partner cheated. You're stunned and hurt. You might want to make your partner go through the same emotions so they really understand the pain they caused you. In other words, “They hurt me, so now I'll hurt them” is often the driving thought behind retaliatory infidelity. Anger-motivated infidelity can happen for reasons other than revenge, though, including: frustration in a relationship when your partner doesn't seem to understand you or your needs anger at a partner who isn't around much anger when a partner doesn't have much to give, physically or emotionally anger or frustration after an argument Regardless of the underlying cause, anger can act as a powerful motivator to become intimate with someone else. 2. Falling out of love The exhilarating feeling of falling in love with someone generally doesn't last forever. When you first fall in love with someone, you might experience passion, excitement, and rushes of dopamine from simply getting a text from them. But the intensity of these feelings usually fades over time. Sure, stable, lasting love exists. But those first-date butterflies will only take you so far. Once the glitter fades, you might realize that the love just isn't there. Or maybe you realize you're in love with someone else. Keep in mind that falling out of love doesn't have to mean you don't love each other. This can make it harder to leave a relationship that still provides a sense of family, friendship, stability, and safety. But staying in a relationship without romantic love may lead to a desire to experience love again and motivate infidelity.” --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/antonio-myers4/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/antonio-myers4/support
“Moral philosophers have defined discrimination using a moralized definition. Under this approach, discrimination is defined as acts, practices, or policies that wrongfully impose a relative disadvantage or deprivation on persons based on their membership in a salient social group.[9] This is a comparative definition. An individual need not be actually harmed in order to be discriminated against. He or she just needs to be treated worse than others for some arbitrary reason. If someone decides to donate to help orphan children, but decides to donate less, say, to black children out of a racist attitude, he or she will be acting in a discriminatory way even if he or she actually benefits the people he discriminates against by donating some money to them.[10] Discrimination also develops into a source of oppression, the action of recognizing someone as 'different' so much that they are treated inhumanly and degraded.[11] This moralized definition of discrimination is distinct from a non-moralized definition - in the former, discrimination is wrong by definition, whereas in the latter, this is not the case.[12] The United Nations stance on discrimination includes the statement: "Discriminatory behaviors take many forms, but they all involve some form of exclusion or rejection."[13] The United Nations Human Rights Council and other international bodies work towards helping ending discrimination around the world.” All of these happened to me in the DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia): “Donald Cressey's Cosa Nostra model studied Mafia families exclusively and this limits his broader findings. Structures are formal and rational with allocated tasks, limits on entrance, and influence on the rules established for organizational maintenance and sustainability.[177][178] In this context there is a difference between organized and professional crime; there is well-defined hierarchy of roles for leaders and members, underlying rules and specific goals that determine their behavior and these are formed as a social system, one that was rationally designed to maximize profits and to provide forbidden goods. Albini saw organized criminal behavior as consisting of networks of patrons and clients, rather than rational hierarchies or secret societies.[18][19][20] The networks are characterized by a loose system of power relations. Each participant is interested in furthering his own welfare. Criminal entrepreneurs are the patrons and they exchange information with their clients in order to obtain their support. Clients include members of gangs, local and national politicians, government officials and people engaged in legitimate business. People in the network may not directly be part of the core criminal organization. Furthering the approach of both Cressey and Albini, Ianni and Ianni studied Italian-American crime syndicates in New York and other cities.[179][180] Kinship is seen as the basis of organized crime rather than the structures Cressey had identified; this includes fictive godparental and affinitive ties as well as those based on blood relations and it is the impersonal actions, not the status or affiliations of their members, that define the group. Rules of conduct and behavioral aspects of power and networks and roles include the following: family operates as a social unit, with social and business functions merged; leadership positions down to middle management are kinship based; the higher the position, the closer the kinship relationship; group assigns leadership positions to a central group of family members, including fictive god-parental relationship reinforcement; the leadership group are assigned to legal or illegal enterprises, but not both; and, transfer of money, from legal and illegal business, and back to illegal business is by individuals, not companies. Strong family ties are derived from the traditions of southern Italy, where family rather than the church or state is the basis of social order and morality.” --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/antonio-myers4/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/antonio-myers4/support
“Criticism of religion involves criticism of the validity, concept, or ideas of religion.[1] Historical records of criticism of religion go back to at least 5th century BCE in ancient Greece, in Athens specifically, with Diagoras "the Atheist" of Melos. In ancient Rome, an early known example is Lucretius' De rerum natura from the 1st century BCE. Every exclusive religion on Earth (as well as every exclusive world view) that promotes exclusive truth-claims necessarily denigrates the truth-claims of other religions.[2] Thus, some criticisms of religion become criticisms of one or more aspects of a specific religious tradition. Critics of religion in general may view religion as one or more of: outdated, harmful to the individual, harmful to society, an impediment to the progress of science or humanity, a source of immoral acts or customs, a political tool for social control.” I see so much psychosis in religion because they would blame Eve for misogynoir and transmisogynior. I had similar experiences in the DMV: “The locus of power and organized crime Edit Some espouse that all organized crime operates at an international level, though there is currently no international court capable of trying offenses resulting from such activities (the International Criminal Court's remit extends only to dealing with people accused of offenses against humanity, e.g., genocide). If a network operates primarily from one jurisdiction and carries out its illicit operations there and in some other jurisdictions it is ‘international,' though it may be appropriate to use the term ‘transnational' only to label the activities of a major crime group that is centered in no one jurisdiction but operating in many. The understanding of organized crime has therefore progressed to combined internationalization and an understanding of social conflict into one of power, control, efficiency risk and utility, all within the context of organizational theory. The accumulation of social, economic and political power[195] have sustained themselves as a core concerns of all criminal organizations: social: criminal groups seek to develop social control in relation to particular communities; economic: seek to exert influence by means of corruption and by coercion of legitimate and illegitimate praxis; and, political: criminal groups use corruption and violence to attain power and status.[196][194] Contemporary organized crime may be very different from traditional Mafia style, particularly in terms of the distribution and centralization of power, authority structures and the concept of 'control' over one's territory and organization. There is a tendency away from centralization of power and reliance upon family ties towards a fragmentation of structures and informality of relationships in crime groups. Organized crime most typically flourishes when a central government and civil society is disorganized, weak, absent or untrustworthy. This may occur in a society facing periods of political, economic or social turmoil or transition, such as a change of government or a period of rapid economic development, particularly if the society lacks strong and established institutions and the rule of law. The dissolution of the Soviet Union and the Revolutions of 1989 in Eastern Europe that saw the downfall of the Communist Bloc created a breeding ground for criminal organizations.” --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/antonio-myers4/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/antonio-myers4/support

“Do these reasons mean you should abandon your faith? You make the call. But being an atheist need not carry any negative stigma in a world still dominated by believers. Professor of psychology Benjamin Beit-Hallahmiprofiled a likely atheist to be this person – “We can say that atheists show themselves to be less authoritarian and suggestible, less dogmatic, less prejudiced, more tolerant of others, law-abiding, compassionate, conscientious, and well-educated. They are of high intelligence, and many are committed to the intellectual and scholarly life.” That sounds like a pretty good person.” I dislike religion because it is in favor of the policy or practice of encouraging people to have children; the promotion of childbearing (pronatalism.) I also dislike the religion is in favor of Amatonormativity: “Which is the set of societal assumptions that everyone prospers with an exclusive romantic relationship.)” In the world of religion, I see a lot of peaches and cream, hunky dory, sugar and spice, and everything nice, sugar and rainbows, utopia, easy like Sunday morning, choosing to be fully animals over being human, a piece of cake, a walk in the ballpark, the rejection of both wholeness and wholesomeness, the cliquishness, the happy world, "Can we all get along and sing a song?", "kumbaya", roses and flowers, La la Land, Fairy tale Land, Fantasy Land, toxic comfort addiction, toxic ambition addiction, toxic approval addiction, hallucinations, disorganized thinking, bitter speech, Peter Pan Syndrome, "Like Me/Like Me Syndrome, rising cults, the anger at being fully human, the rage at not being fully divine, the disdain for intellectual virtues, the uneasiness with doubts and skepticism, the lacking of life skills, the lacking of people skills, self-hatred, emotional unintelligence, emotional dysregulation, looking for love in all of the wrong places, looking for lust in all of the wrong places, secret abortions, secret shacking up, misandry, misogyny, racism, colorism, otherism, secret non-monogamy, the discomfort with science/history and mathematics, the addictive personalities, the loser complex, double-living, double-dealing, double-dipping, confusing numbness with forgiveness, secretive queer culture living, the myth of “ex-gay”, double standards, the victim complex, irrevocable consent, the failure complex, the entrapment complex, the being hard on self complex, scandalous conduct, self-destructive behaviors, community sabotage, and denialism. We applaud President Biden's repeal of religious discrimination. FFRF joins in an abortion appeal to the United Nations, and appreciates a State Department reward for Avijit Roy's killers. Vashti McCollum's heroic lawsuit is honored and Gov. Greg Abbott's idea of education is exposed as indoctrination. FFRF attorney Sam Grover explains our brief challenging the Ten Commandments monument in Arkansas. Then we hear five black atheists explain why they left religion and discuss the special challenges African American nonbelievers face in today's world.
I live by all of these values: “Council for Secular Humanism: According to the Council for Secular Humanism, within the United States, the term "secular humanism" describes a world view with the following elements and principles:[8] Need to test beliefs – A conviction that dogmas, ideologies and traditions, whether religious, political or social, must be weighed and tested by each individual and not simply accepted by faith. Reason, evidence, scientific method – A commitment to the use of critical reason, factual evidence and scientific method of inquiry in seeking solutions to human problems and answers to important human questions. Fulfillment, growth, creativity – A primary concern with fulfillment, growth and creativity for both the individual and humankind in general. Search for truth – A constant search for objective truth, with the understanding that new knowledge and experience constantly alter our imperfect perception of it. This life – A concern for this life (as opposed to an afterlife) and a commitment to making it meaningful through better understanding of ourselves, our history, our intellectual and artistic achievements, and the outlooks of those who differ from us. Ethics – A search for viable individual, social and political principles of ethical conduct, judging them on their ability to enhance human well-being and individual responsibility. Justice and fairness – an interest in securing justice and fairness in society and in eliminating discrimination and intolerance.[29] Building a better world – A conviction that with reason, an open exchange of ideas, good will, and tolerance, progress can be made in building a better world for ourselves and our children. A Secular Humanist Declaration was issued in 1980 by the Council for Secular Humanism's predecessor, CODESH. It lays out ten ideals: Free inquiry as opposed to censorship and imposition of belief; separation of church and state; the ideal of freedom from religious control and from jingoistic government control; ethics based on critical intelligence rather than that deduced from religious belief; moral education; religious skepticism; reason; a belief in science and technology as the best way of understanding the world; evolution; and education as the essential method of building humane, free, and democratic societies.[30]” --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/antonio-myers4/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/antonio-myers4/support

Talk With Blatant Black Atheist #blathiest Racism, Reparations and Religion with Lots of Empathy
"Myth 1. Black Nonbelievers Don't Exist The general population is well aware of the existence of atheists by now. Dawkins, Harris, and other prominent white atheists have made sure of that. But black atheists make up less than 0.5% of the black population in the US and a very small proportion of the atheist population. Though logic dictates that black nonbelievers must exist, their small numbers and lack of visibility contribute to their erasure. Why does this matter? Because perpetuating the myth that black people are inherently theistic ignores the diversity of thought that actually exists within the black community. It contributes to the stereotyping of black culture as monolithic, even amongst black people who (should) know better. Furthermore, when people don't consider the possibility of black nonbelievers existing, it can affect their relationships with the non-religious people in their lives. Think of theists offering prayers to nonbelievers with sick family members, or comforting grieving nonbelievers by talking about the afterlife, or encouraging an agnostic cousin to say grace at dinner, or telling a strident atheist they'll “come around eventually.” These are just a few examples of the ways that nonbelievers in general are invalidated, annoyed, and silenced by well meaning people. The smaller number of nonbelievers in the black community heightens their erasure in particular. Black nonbelievers often encounter the assumption that because they are black, religion and spirituality should be especially important to them. And when this assumption is coming from other black people who are themselves religious, it can feel like a denial of cultural identity to express one's nonbelief. Recognizing and affirming the existence of black nonbelievers isn't just about making them more comfortable. If members of the black community strive to recognize and understand people with different views of the world, they can more thoughtfully approach and get along with the people in their lives with whom they disagree. Myth 2. Black Nonbelievers Haven't Been Active in Social Justice A lot of prominent freethinkers, humanists, and atheists seem more concerned with denouncing religion than solving issues of structural inequality and systematic injustice. This contributes to the myth that nonbelievers are unconcerned with social justice, or are less concerned with doing good in the world than religious people. There have been a number of skeptics, mostly older white men, who have made the case for abandoning religion in the modern age. But for all the Dawkins, Hitchens, and Harrises in the atheist world, there aren't as many skeptics focused on feminism, racial justice, and other sociopolitical issues that would exist with or without religion. Alongside the myth of the apathetic nonbeliever are even greater myths about religion's role in black culture. Religion can be wielded as both the weapon of the oppressor and the shield of the oppressed. For example, during the Transatlantic slave trade, white captors used passages of the Bible to justify the enslavement of Africans and demand their subjugation. Slaves who converted to Christianity, on the other hand, saw parallels between themselves and the enslaved Israelites in the Exodus." --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/antonio-myers4/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/antonio-myers4/support
"Similarly, Marlowe emails performers an extensive checklist of sex acts before shooting. She has performers indicate hard limits, which are “things the performer absolutely does not want to do,” like anal or choking. Then there are soft limits, which are subtler preferences—like being slapped on only one side of the face or with the intensity of no more than a five on a scale of one to 10. On the day of the shoot, she again goes over the checklist with the performer, and not only reviews each item, but talks at length about how they're feeling about the scene ahead of them. “We're dealing with human beings and their bodies,” she says. “Head space can change day to day.” That can mean that a performer no longer feels comfortable with an act that they had previously said was OK. That can also happen in the middle of a scene, so she tells performers that they can stop and adjust their limits at any point. Both of the shoots Raven and Nixon participated in included pre-shoot on-camera interviews about dos and don'ts—but the performers allege that the boundaries they indicated were not respected, and that the intensity of the slapping and choking far exceeded what they had agreed upon." "Marlowe admits that “in the heat of the moment, things can happen.” Sometimes a performer gets carried away and pushes or forgets a stated boundary—but she says it's the director's job to immediately call out the transgression and address it. “If someone didn't want spit in their face and then the other actor spits in their face, I stop the scene,” she says. “I remind the actor about the other actor's limits.” It's then up to the performer whose limits were crossed to decided whether they want to take a break or stop the scene entirely. If a performer crosses a hard limit, there is no warning. “The scene stops and they will be escorted off my set immediately,” she says. Performers always have safe words, like “red,” that will bring the scene to a screeching halt, but sometimes Marlowe intervenes on their behalf if it looks like things have gotten too rough. “I can often see it coming before they even say something,” she says. “Often they are in a deeply intense head space and it can be hard [for them] to call it.” There have been times where she's had to suddenly call off a scene entirely. “It's important that you learn the signs of when you need to call the shoot, even if the actor gets mad at you,” she says. “Most actors will come to you later, sometimes years later, and thank you.” "In fact, in response to Raven's and Nixon's video, Marlowe unleashed a series of tweets calling on directors to “actively engage with your talent in a respectful way and be able to read them when they are deep in the throws of rough sex and take that shit seriously.” She wrote, “Be prepared to recognize when you need to call shoots, even if the main talent is not able to do it themselves. BECAUSE IT'S YOUR FUCKING JOB.” In response, a performer she had worked with in the past wrote, “Yep. You called it once during my very first scene when I didnt know any better and because of that I was able to finish my scene with a smile on my face and was able to conquer other scenes and even have a better idea of my own limits going forward in my career.” Description of the Black Atheist club in The Clubhouse app “We are a minority within a minority.” Are you a Black skeptic, free-thinker, agnostic, atheist, humanist, secularist, critic of religion and spirituality? Then this club is for you! Black people who don't believe in any gods, especially the one so many seem to be obsessed with, are often at odds with family, friends, and potential romantic partners. This club's purpose is to create space where there is none, connect with one another and form your community here." --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/antonio-myers4/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/antonio-myers4/support
