The year was 1990. Australia's music scene was buzzing with the energy of a new decade, and Kate Ceberano was at the heart of it. That August, the multi-talented singer, songwriter, actress, author, and visual artist graced the cover of Rolling Stone Australia in a feature titled “Behind Bedroom Eyes: The Real Kate Ceberano.” The cover, shot by Grant Matthews, wasn't just another glamorous portrayal of a rising star – it was an intimate dive into the mind and spirit of a woman navigating her place in a rapidly evolving industry. In fact, Ceberano not only starred on the cover, she also penned the accompanying feature article, writing: “Rolling Stone wants the real Kate, the real me, from my most saintly philosophical views down to the hardcore dirt.” In the latest episode of ‘Behind The Rolling Stone Cover', sponsored by Shure, Rolling Stone AU/NZ Editor-in-Chief Poppy Reid sits down with Ceberano to revisit her iconic 1990 cover and relive the stories and reflections that have shaped her four-decade-long career. My guest today is Phil Ceberano.   Phil has performed, played guitar, recorded and written music with many of the finest musicians this country has to offer over the last 30 years.   Phil spent many of his touring and recording years as co-songwriter collaborator and musical director/producer with his sister Kate Ceberano.   Phil also runs a school holiday program - Rock Academy for young musicians and also continues to track guitar and create content in his studio ‘Aloha Studios'.   On top of that, Phil is creative director at Flourish PR, a PR company operated by his wife, Angela.    This conversation with Phil was a lot of fun. Many laughs, beer, nuggets of wisdom, impersonations, theories, mantras and stories.  When I'm putting these podcasts together, I ask my guests to send me music which I can use for the intro. I chased Phil up a few times, and yesterday he just said stuff this, ill write and record a track especially for this episode. He's called it Stevie Burps. You can hear the whole song at the end of this episode.   I hope you enjoy this conversation as much as I did. In this well overdue episode (apologies - COVID chaos!), I met with PR maven and quite literally one of the loveliest, warmest people I've ever met - Angela Ceberano. Ange is the Founder and Managing Director of Flourish, a creative communications agency based here in Melbourne, who spent some time chatting with me about the highs and lows of her personal and professional life. Ange has had a thrilling career to date, spending the first 10 years working with some of the biggest names in music, as the National Publicity Manger at Sony Music Entertainment. She has quite literally seen it all. And some of it's pretty juicy! She is also a self-confessed workaholic who has paid the price for throwing everything she has into her passions, finding herself in hospital and forced to down tools. Ange gave us a peek into her marriage with musician Phil Ceberano and shared some of her experiences of their continuing IVF journey. In the lead up to the interview, Ange told me that she is an open book and that nothing was off limits. This couldn't have been more true - she is incredibly generous and an absolute joy to talk with. There is so much that I personally took away from this chat and I know that many of you will too. Finally, just a quick reminder to please do leave us a rating or review if you're enjoying the show and don't forget to tag us in your thoughts on Insta @thecuriouslifepodcast You can find Ange on YouTube here or on Insta @angelaceberano Don't forget to check out Ange's stunning range of luxe candles Marco & Co - they're divine! Today's guest carved out her career by always being “on” and working relentless hours. But when a serious health condition forced her to slow down, what happened next? And what did this mean for how she went on to design her life and business? Angela Ceberano is the founder of public relations agency Flourish PR, with a team of more than 10 and clients across Australia in the entertainment, lifestyle, property and tech spaces. But after Ange was diagnosed with life threatening pneumonia in 2017, after 15 years of being ‘always on', she realised something had to give and set out to find a hobby that would force her to switch off and have some quality, 'me' time away from the office and away from her phone. It was here that she discovered her love of horse riding, which led her to her horse, 'Marco', who she credits for saving her soul. The experience inspired Angela to bring to life the first ever Australian made luxury equestrian-inspired candle range, Marco & Co. by Angela Ceberano. Now, she runs two successful businesses and is learning to master the idea of balance, living life after burnout. Let's welcome Angela Ceberano to the show!

Angela Ceberano has been my friend for over a decade. We first met when my husband Guy signed to the music label BMG (later becoming Sony Music) after winning the very first Australian Idol! Ange was his assigned publicist at the label. The first thing I noticed about Ange was her Hollywood actress looks and her kind nature. I was very new to the world of the public eye, so anybody who showed me genuine kindness and was down to earth, I clung to! We grew closer over the years and it has been a pleasure to watch Ange blossom into the business mogul she is today. With all her music industry and PR knowledge, she decided to start her own agency. She named it Flourish. She and her team handle huge clients on all things publicity and branding. She has also recently released her very own range of candles called Marco and Co. which she lovingly named after her beautiful horse Marco. As a busy entrepreneur and working woman, Ange has had her fair share of challenges. Earlier this year, her husband Phil and her went through a heart renching miscarriage. She was brave enough to share her thoughts and feelings around that in our chat. Running your own business, juggling staff, a marriage and all that goes in between has lead Ange to take some time to reflect, pause and really take head of what is important in life. Her mission is to inspire but to also encourage people to find a lifestyle that is right for them. This includes rest and doing things you love. She believes it feeds your soul and fuels your passions. I couldn’t agree more. This is Angela Ceberano for Tea with Jules the Podcast.
