Guy Sebastian joined us in the studio smelling like a million bucks — literally, because his new fragrance is inspired by his dad (and thankfully not by talcum powder and Cascade Draught, which Chemist Warehouse once suggested). We talk about the sentimental story behind the scent, his new album 100 Times Around the Sun, and the big-name singers he roped in to make it sound like honey. Plus, Guy spills on hanging with Kelly Clarkson back in the World Idol days, almost quitting music to fish in Palm Beach, and why his 11-year-old son might be the next Sebastian to watchSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Guy Sebastian is one of our most loved and enduring artists. Since bursting onto our screens as the first winner of Australian Idol, he’s carved out a career defined not just by chart-topping hits, but by his soulful voice, authenticity, and generous heart. Guy Sebastian is an Australasian icon with a career that's nothing short of extraordinary. From winning the first season of Australian Idol back in 2003, to carving out a place on the charts, to mentoring new talent as a coach on The Voice Australia – he's been in the spotlight for over two decades. And now he's embarking on a new chapter with the release of his tenth album ‘One Hundred Times Around The Sun'. The album has taken Sebastian nearly five years to make, a much longer period than the typical six months to two years most artists these days create them in. He told Jack Tame that in the early stages of his career, he felt pressure to create quickly. “Don't take longer than a year,” Sebastian explained. “Or you'll disappear into obscurity.” “Then there's like, the pressure of doing the right thing by the fans, y'know, you don't wanna make them wait too long.” It's a mentality that used to govern much of Sebastian's process, but one that he's managed to grow beyond. “I just got to this point where like, I don't want to release anything until I'm stoked with it,” he told Tame. “I wanna love every song. I don't want a filler on there, I want every song to be great.” LISTEN ABOVE See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Guy Sebastian is one of Australia’s most celebrated voices, but behind the success and spotlight lies a story of quiet faith, inner battles, and profound personal growth. Sarah Grynberg sits down for an intimate conversation with Guy Sebastian, where the public persona gives way to the private man, one shaped by his spiritual upbringing, blindsided by betrayal, and ultimately lifted by purpose, music, and love. You’ll learn: *How Guy stayed true to himself amidst the chaos of fame *Why faith has been a steady force throughout his life *How he processed betrayal from the manager he once trusted deeply *The mental resilience required for life in the public eye This is a powerful story of rising above, staying real, and learning that greatness is not just in what you achieve, but in who you choose to be when no one is watching. Here we are with the all male vocal edition of Men - Mardi Gras Men. I wanted to get this done before the actual main party weekend but I had so much going on, I had to push it back further in the month. This coming of age 20th edition of Men wastes no time in getting into it. The set kicks off with the awesome remix of "My Universe" by Coldplay from my good friend Rob of Division 4 and then swings into the funky sound of "Good Times". 7th Heaven feature three remixes here. The first is for Guy Sebastian's "Battle Scars". Guy is one of my all time favourite male vocalists. He won the first season of Australian Idol and he's voice is sublime. I've met him a couple of times through work and he is an absolute delight. If you're not familiar with his music (he writes all of his songs), then check him out. I've also met Adam Turner a few times in London and he is also a delight. He is the lead vocalist on the song "Amazing" featured here. He is also a music producer and his remixes are awesome. I've know Wayne G. for years and he is so much fun. He throws in two beautiful mixes for Bruno Mars and Darren Hayes respectively and then we're off into the big room sound. Robbie Carrigan is producing some amazing remixes (check out his Soundcloud page) and here he delivers a top notch mix of "Send Me An Angel" by Real Life - another Australian band from the 80's. Toy Armada & DJ GRIND deliver two anthems for Hardwell and R5 respectively and how could I not include any set without a couple of stand out mixes from DJ Mark De Lang of Dirty Disco. Here he works his magic on "I Feel Love" and "Stay". The set closes out with another beautiful 7th Heaven remix for boy band A1. The men absolutely rule in this pumping set.
