“Inside all of us there lies a message only we can share with the world. When you find it, give it voice, and share it with the world, there is no way success cannot be yours.” Welcome to today's podcast episode where we're going to dive into the topic of speaking unapologetically from our hearts. Our guest today is Amy Yamada, a seasoned business coach and emerging expert in the cutting-edge technology of ChatGPT. Amy is committed to helping her clients build deep connections through authentic marketing messaging and heart-centered sales conversations. One of the things that really resonated with me was Amy's absolute conviction in what she's taking a stand for. She's passionate about humanizing AI and preserving humanity. This got me thinking about what I'm taking a stand for and what each and every one of us can do to become more human-centric in how we leverage technology. During our conversation, Amy spoke about how fear often gets in the way of living our true selves. She challenged us to get curious about what it is that we really want to say, and to identify our heart speech. If we were given the chance to speak as an unapologetic version of ourselves, what is it that we really want to say? Amy also spoke about the masks that hold us back and how we often hold onto things that make us feel comfortable, even if they're not serving us. We need to trust ourselves and tap into that trust to be the exact version of who we want to be. If we could trust ourselves implicitly, what would we do differently? Bec Chappell started Plum Marketing Solutions in 2020 with the goal of helping B2B business owners be the drivers of a strategic, stress free marketing in their business. Prior to launching her own biz Bec clocked up 12+ years of experience in marketing departments both growing my career and leading the pack. How many times have you said 'Yes' to something, when deep down you know you should say, "No'? Every 'Yes' we commit to invariably means we're saying 'No' to something else and oftentimes this 'something else' actually is the very thing we should be focusing on to help our businesses move forward. In this latest episode, I discuss the opportunity cost of our 'Yes's' and why we need to get better at saying 'no' when things don't align to your values, priorities and goals. Instead, we have to power up the 'Yes' to the projects that matter to you, your career and your life.

SOLO EPISODE | Your Imposter Syndrome Is Serving No-one Self-doubt is exhausting, and it gets in the way of real progress. The curated content found every day on social media certainly doesn't help. We're bombarded with opportunities to compare and contrast our lives with the lives of others. We're so busy observing what everyone else is doing that we start feeling completely inadequate. In the Harvard Business Review article ‘Overcoming imposter syndrome', author Gill Corkindale shares that, ‘Imposters suffer from chronic self- doubt and a sense of intellectual fraudulence that override any feelings of success or external proof of their competence. They seem unable to internalise their accomplishments, however successful they are in their field'. You know exactly what I'm talking about! Let's quit the negative self-talk. Stop focusing on what others are doing and achieving. And remember - this is your race to run.
Solo Episode – Doubling Down vs Lost in the Shiny Stuff Unleashing brilliance requires you to double down on what you are good at and to take ownership of your next actions. Maintaining your focus exactly where you or your business needs it for growth is key for momentum. Easier said than done, right? What I see happening way too often is: We follow shiny stuff …because it's more exciting We enter comparison mode…and suddenly we are out of our lane and trying to be someone else (and guess what? Comparison-it is often then quickly invites self-doubt to the party!) We take on too much…and get overwhelmed with everything that needs to be done – yesterday! And instead of moving forward, we start spinning and getting nowhere fast. I shared on my YouTube channel and in my Elevate community 3 strategies to doubling down on what really needs to be done to get momentum back in your business. Given the response, I thought I'd take the audio and drop it into my podcast as part of a new series of solo episodes that I will be publishing here each month. Cheesy, Ziggy, Benny and Funky George are four of the most incredible teachers on leadership I've ever had the pleasure of learning from (true!). They taught me about the power of trust, authenticity and courage. I met them during a unique and experiential training session run by latest guest, Linda McGregor, founder and CEO of Four Legged Sages. Yep — the four teachers are horses. The wonderful thing about horses is that they have no hidden agenda, are masters of emotional intelligence and they have an ability to allow us to see ourselves for what we really are. For example: • Do we behave in a way that's congruent to what we think? • Does our body language match what we're saying? • Are we really building trust with an individual or are we behaving superficially? ‘Most of us never really think about how leadership “happens”,' explains Linda. ‘We enter the workplace, we are the boss, or someone is our boss, we try to give direction or follow direction. Sometimes it works and sometimes it breaks down due to a lack of respect, the presence of friction and stress. At worst this leads to a breakdown of positive relationships and eventually work culture. Being chosen as a leader is a different concept, where you need to earn the right to lead, to earn respect and loyalty. To do this you must prove you are worthy to be the leader, that you can be trusted to hold the “reins” of the team and guide them to success safely and fairly. Being a leader means people choose to follow you.' Linda McGregor has spent her career working all sides; marketing, advertising, strategy and business development. With over 30 years' experience; client and agency sides in the UK, Asia & Australia, then, in 2003, founding leading insight consultancy, All About Eve, she has wide expertise of creating & leading teams & businesses in a variety of set-ups, markets & categories. Her twin passions in life – her work delivered ‘aha' insights about people, and her long-time hobby around horses - inspired her teamwork & leadership training offshoot, Four Legged Sages. Here she blends threefold - social and neuroscience insight, her own leadership & teamwork expertise, the unique wisdom from horse-herd dynamics & “horse whispering”. Antoinette led the idyllic life of a wealthy Sydney family. Life was wonderful - multiple homes, cars, boats and overseas holidays. Kids in private school and no cares in the world as a result of her husband building a successful business. Overnight the life they had enjoyed fell away and suddenly they had to sell up, find cash and lost everything. So what happens when you hit rock bottom? How do you rebuild your life? Somehow Antoinette found the resilience to rebuild - it was about: -Being brave enough to face the reality -Being brave enough to work out the options with that she had -Being brave enough to reach out and ask for help -Being brave enough to take one step forward every day -Being brave enough to realise it was up to me She now runs her own business, Benchmark Experts providing expert witnesses in the medical, engineering and work health and safety space to law firms. She has run this business for over 20 years. Antoinette is a speaker and has also published the book, “Great Handbag – don't forget your Briefcase” – a book she wrote as a cathartic measure to help with the shock and the pain endured when things changed so rapidly for her and her family. Ep 113 - Finding Purpose Through Heartbreak w/ Nikki Shah, founder & CEO The Muse Nikki's backstory is an incredible example of reinvention and evolution. But it was in the heartbreak she experienced in her 30s that she found her purpose. A purpose that will ultimately become a game changer for so many. She is unstoppable, some people would see her life being full of tragedy, but she has turned every chapter of her life so far into something that has become a truly amazing story. She has an energy and presence that stops anyone in their tracks. Nikki grew up in the North of England, with her Kenyan parents and younger brother Vee. Nikki was bullied at school, for the colour of her skin, for her cultural background, and even bullied by a school teacher at the age of 9. At the age of 15 she moved (without her parents) to Florida to join an international tennis academy but then a major injury ended her dreams of a career on the tennis court. Nikki retrained as a physio and joined the Huddersfield Giants rugby league team. This was challenging in itself, even walking into a male rugby locker room for the first time was a shock after the days of all whites in a tennis club. After several years, Nikki moved to London where she set up her own practise concentrating on sports injuries. Following a trip to Australia to visit her best friend, she fell in love with the place and lifestyle and decided to make the bold move to complete her masters at the University of Sydney, another pond crossed. This then led to feeling that a career in physiotherapy was unsustainable forever, and she decided to move into the corporate space as a recruiter. During working in Sydney, her partner was diagnosed with cancer, Osteosarcoma, he was aged 30. What was to follow was years of working full-time while being his carer, his best friend, his side-kick. When Mike was diagnosed as terminal, Nikki found that the company she was working for found it hard to navigate, as did she. Searching for support and education for all involved, she found nothing, so she did what many passionate, driven person does, she decided that she would be the one to set up the help others needed. Nikki established MyMuse in Nov 2019 - a social impact business that bridges the gap for employers and employees going through cancer, a life altering illness or a carer journey. She delivers proactive solutions for when this happens in their workforce and how to support the individual as well as the rest of the team or even company. MyMuse has been the finalist to the Blackmores Women + Wellness awards and winner of The Hub Flexi Impact Program. LISTEN IN
