This week on SPARK the Podcast, we are going to be talking all about baptism. Baptism is an outward sign of our inward decision to follow Christ. We are accepting Jesus' sacrifice to have our sins washed away, putting to death and burying our old life of sin and separation from God, and being raised to a new life of following Him. Peter said in Acts 2:38 “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” We are going to hear from nine women in our SPARK community about their decision to be baptized, and we can't wait to share their testimonies with you. I first met Cinnamon in a Facebook group actually. Cinnamon used her expertise in Squarespace to help me optimize my site at the time. Our friendship has grown over the years, and we often are in contact. I love hearing her perspective as she considers herself to be a little bit different than a lot of others in her field. And I would agree and think she is different in the best ways. When you look at a lot of creatives, especially on social media, there are certain things about them that kind of tend to be the same. Which has me thinking: Should you build a personal brand when you feel like you don’t quite fit that mold? Let’s hear what Cinnamon has to say!
Has this ever happened to you? I'm pretty sure it's happened to all of us. Someone giving us their opinion or advice when we were least expecting it. It can really throw you into a tailspin and while unsolicited feedback in most cases is really not appropriate that doesn't mean it won't happen. Learning strategies for dealing with these situations can help you to move forward quickly and not let these situations derail you for long. I got some unsolicited feedback the other day and made notes of the feelings, processing and resolution. Sharing all of that on the episode today! The fear of public speaking is one of the most common phobias in the world, but the notion that this phenomenon is more pronounced in introverts is a huge misconception. Today my special guest Cinnamon Wolfe and I have a deep dive discussion about what it's like to be a speaker/educator and attend these live events as an introvert. Join us as we take some time to learn a little bit more about what being an "introvert" really means so we can lean into our strengths and serve people in a way that we may not have been able to before. Do you want to book more speaking engagements and have an incredible client experience that finally allows you to charge what you're worth? Use this link to get 50% off your first year of Honeybook thepublicspeakingstrategist.com/resources If you loved this episode and it motivated you to add speaking to your business, please take the time to leave me some positive feedback on iTunes. I'd also love to hear about your biggest takeaway. Take a screenshot of you listening on your device, post it to your Instagram Stories and tag us @thecreativespeakerpodcast. Episode takeaways you don't want to miss: Being an introvert doesn't mean you're a loner Introverts prefer one on one conversations Podcasting is a great way to practice educating, speaking and communicating with others Being an introvert doesn't mean that you're terrified of speaking in front of large crowds, but engaging with small groups of your listeners after giving a talk might be exhausting and emotionally taxing Introverts tend to do very well in situations where their role is very clear As an introvert, not having the time to sit back with your personal thoughts can be mentally exhausting. It's important to give yourself space in the day to mentally recharge The conception that introverts just want to go hide in the corner is categorically false There are several good resources available for you to study your personality type and how to best manage it. If you feel you're an introvert, read Susan Cain's book “The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking” For full show notes and links, visit: https://thepublicspeakingstrategist.com/shownotes/053

I’m so excited that we are at 50 episodes this week. When I started this podcast back in June of 2017, I never imagined getting to this point. I start podcasting because I was tired of writing blog posts and I felt like it wasn’t the best way for me to educate my audience and make connections with other people in the industry. After meeting a group of amazing podcasters at a networking event, I decided to jump in and try podcasting for myself. Since then, we have had a ton of amazing guests, some solo episodes, lots of freebies and opt-ins, and a couple of bumps along the way. Today I want to look back over the past 50 episodes, give you some insight into what I’ve learned, the most popular episodes, and a little sneak peak of what’s coming next. Topics Discussed: An overview of the 5 most popular episodes Some of my favorite interviews that you may have missed The top 3 episodes to listen to before beginning your website design Lessons I’ve learned from 50 episodes of Process to Profitability Some of the big mistakes that I made My favorite reviews (and why I love them) What’s coming next Ways that you can support the show Most Popular Episodes: 01 | Using Your Blog to Educate Clients with Cinnamon Wolfe 14 | Writing a Book that Serves Your Audience and Your Business with Jodi Brandon 39 | Mindfulness and Entrepreneurship with Lee Chaix McDonough 11 | Creating Effective Surveys in Your Business with Lauren Black 20 | Pricing Your Services for Your Profitability and Your Dream Clients with Kristin Kaplan My Favorite Episodes You May Have Missed: 47 | Strategies for a Higher Converting Email List with Kate Boyd 05 | Using Customer Feedback in Product Design with Ashley Staum 10 | Connecting to Your Clients through Brand Photography with Mallika Malhotra You Need to Listen Before Designing a Website: 15 | Is Your Website Working for You? Creating a Strategic Website 27 | Setting Goals and Planning Your Website 29 | Creating Content for Your Website What I’ve Learned: I love having a conversation with my guests while still covering their area of expertise Podcasting takes a lot of time and effort and it costs a lot more than writing a blog It’s easier to interview a guest than to host a solo episode Mistakes I’ve Made: My very first episode was released with the intro and interview audio tracks overlaid, so you couldn’t understand anything One of my early episodes was released with 20 minutes of audio missing in the middle – and I didn’t catch it until months later Favorite Reviews: “Samantha, host of Process to Profitability, highlights all aspects of business in this can’t miss podcast. The host and expert guests offer insightful advice that is helpful to anyone that listens!” – Brooke Craven “I’m only a few episodes in, but I already love what I’m hearing. Samantha dives right into getting to know her guests and it’s all action from there, which is great!” – Krista Miller “I’m loving Samantha’s podcast for her ability to ask questions that really allow the interviews to get to the strategies that business owners are curious about. It’s exciting to hear stories AND get something you can put into place in your business immediately!” – Reina Pomeroy What’s Next: 3 Action Steps for each episode New guests covering topics like learner-centered design, subscription-based businesses, and the true value of an hour New solo episodes including what a week in my life looks like, website analytics, and auditing your website Transcriptions for each episode How You Can Help: Leave a rating and review on iTunes Share the podcast with a friend Tag us on Instagram and Facebook @processtoprofitability or @lemonandthesea
