#131 I recently had the opportunity to see John Wick 4, the latest installment of a series of very popular movies starring Keanu Reeves. Now, the acting is great, but the plot leaves a lot to be desired. I can't say that I enjoyed it, and I was left with more questions than answers. Let me know if you agree, or if you think the more John Wick, the merrier!Support the show
With Gavin missing on this episode Aaron takes the reigns with new host Tyler to talk stories and games. Enjoy!
The Brotherhood returns to the new format of Code of Honor. Cajun provides a quote from Josh Billings, a contemporary of Sam Clemens, AKA Mark Twain. He's awesome and we're all quite enthralled.

Steven Seagal is one of the biggest action stars of the '90s, starring in some of the biggest action films of the decade. Nurses Out Loud with Nurse Michele, RN – The US military has a code of honor that includes values like honor, respect, and devotion to duty. #StarTrek #TheNextGeneration or #TNG season 1 episode 4 {From the Daily Star Trek News} “Code of Honor” places the crew of the Enterprise-D on the planet of Ligon II in an attempt to negotiate access to a specific vaccine. In the episode, the Ligonian people are depicted as quite humanoid-looking, but societally primitive. Wikipedia notes that in the original script of the episode, written by Katharyn Powers and Michael Baron, the Ligonians were called “Tellisians” and were a reptilian species. However, the script was changed several times before production, and eventually the director, Russ Mayberry, decided to cast only Black actors for the Ligonian roles, and gave the episode a “tribal Africa” theme. Mayberry was eventually fired from the production, and replaced by his assistant director Les Landau. “Code of Honor” has largely been condemned as racist and ranked among the worst Star Trek episodes of all time. Frakes brought attention to the episode during the virtual panel when a discussion of the series led him to ask if “Code of Honor” would be discussed. He referred to the episode as “The embarrassment heaped upon us in season one, mostly on Denise.” Somewhat incredulous, Crosby asked, “Can you imagine playing that right now, in this climate?”, likely referring to recent anti-racism protests. Crosby and Frakes, of course, aren't the only ones from Star Trek to criticize the episode over the years. Fellow actors #LeVarBurton, #MichaelDorn, #BrentSpiner and even staff writer #TracyTormé, among many others, have all shared their disdain for “Code of Honor”. Frakes also commented on the importance of the recent protests and expressed his support for the #BlackLivesMatter movement. He said, “It's really part of Roddenberry's vision that there be no racism and there'd be no sexism, and I'm very optimistic that the positive results of this worldwide awareness of how appalling people of color have been treated for centuries is the change. That there will be radical real change in people's hearts and in their minds and I'm very optimistic that when things settle down people will behave differently and there would be more honor and more respect. I'm not usually this serious but I really believe that this is the time, and long, long past.”

Trek Untold: The Star Trek Podcast That Goes Beyond The Stars!
The first season of Star Trek TNG episode "Code of Honor" is an infamous one within the fandom, reviled by fans and the actors in it alike. Karole Selmon played Yareena in that episode and, for the first time, shared her thoughts on it and the reputation it holds. Karole gives us the whole story, starting from her audition, tension on the set with some crew, the kindness of Patrick Stewart, memories of Gene Roddenberry, working with Jessie Ferguson and Julian Christopher, her fight scene with Denise Crosby with an accident on set that few know about, and her perspective on why this isn't the worst Star Trek episode of all time, including a few reasons most people rarely think about when discussing this one. She also has another surprising Star Trek experience that very few know about that she shared with Trek Untold. Karole tells us about her experiences performing on stage around the US and the globe, including a communist country, the trauma in her life that led her to the stage, what she learned from her first movie role in "Mother, Jugs, and Speed," and working with Sidney Poitier, Bill Cosby and James Earl Jones in "A Piece of the Action." Plus, sprinting on "Hill Street Blues," being in "Roots" with Ben Vereen, being buried alive in "JJ Starbuck," and more.
