In this thought-provoking episode of AI with Honor, we dive deep into the compelling and complex issue of forced transparency brought about by the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence. Join Connor with Honor as he unpacks the fascinating implications surrounding AI's use of intellectual property, a subject growing more contentious by the day.We explore how recent lawsuits involving AI and copyright infringement highlight a significant challenge for companies and creators alike. While some of these cases have recently been dismissed, the legal landscape remains unsettled. Connor thoughtfully questions whether this will become the new normal or whether these rulings are merely the calm before the storm. Could artificial intelligence's capacity to freely access and train on virtually limitless data provoke a shift in how we understand ownership and rights?Reflecting on his extensive experience as a first responder and seasoned real estate professional, Connor draws parallels between the early days of the internet and today's AI revolution. Just as the internet once pulled back the curtain on once-hidden knowledge, artificial intelligence now promises—or perhaps threatens—an unprecedented level of transparency. The digital age of the late '90s and early 2000s saw industries transform as previously secretive information became openly accessible. Similarly, AI is now pushing boundaries even further, potentially reshaping not just industries, but society's very understanding of proprietary knowledge. We also discuss patent law's evolving stance towards inventions created by artificial intelligence. Connor examines recent legislative efforts suggesting that AI-generated innovations may not be patentable, sparking crucial questions about the future of creativity, innovation, and fairness in an AI-driven world. Will patent trolls and organizations seeking to control disruptive inventions escalate their efforts, or could we move towards a more open ecosystem that benefits humanity as a whole? In this episode, AI with Honor underscores our shared responsibility to balance innovation with ethical transparency. Whether you're a business owner, creator, legal professional, or simply curious about the intersection of AI and intellectual property, this conversation offers critical insights into one of the most pressing issues of our time.Join Connor with Honor as he continues exploring artificial intelligence's profound impact on our society—always guided by core principles of integrity, humaneness, and the relentless pursuit of truth.Subscribe and stay inYoutube Channels:Conner with Honor - real estateHome Muscle - fat torchingFrom first responder to real estate expert, Connor with Honor brings honesty and integrity to your Santa Clarita home buying or selling journey. Welcome to Tales From Yaya's: The Your Honor Podcast, your dedicated after-show podcast for Showtime's Your Honor! This week, on a special episode of Tales From Yaya's, we're happy to bring you our exclusive, post-finale interview with Your Honor showrunner, Executive Producer and writer of the Season 2 Finale, Joey Hartstone! Joey was a wonderful guest and really helped to provide some closure on Your Honor. GUEST BIO Photo by Dennis Kwan Joey Hartstone is a film and television writer. He has written two feature films, LBJ (2016) and Shock and Awe (2017), which were both directed by Rob Reiner. He wrote on the first two seasons of the legal drama The Good Fight. He is currently the showrunner and an executive producer on the Showtime series Your Honor. He is also the author of The Local, published by Doubleday in 2022. Joey lives in Los Angeles with his family. I became a writer after failing at several other endeavors. I left college midway through a less-than-stellar academic performance to work for my father on his campaign for US Congress. It's hard to say what I disliked more—working in politics or working for my dad. In any event, I vowed not to do either ever again. My next mission was to become a pilot, which I did… barely. I earned my private pilot's license but haven't flown a plane since 2003. I could probably land a single-engine Cessna if my life depended on it, but you wouldn't want to be a passenger on that flight. My most serious ambition was to become a lawyer. Other than my one exhibition bout in small claims court, this dream never materialized. I like to think I got the best of all worlds though, because as a writer I get to explore all the things I love. After graduating from Brandeis University in 2005 with a major in political science, I moved to Los Angeles with dreams of becoming a screenwriter. It took a decade of working on several reality TV shows, studying at UCLA, and writing lots of scripts that no one was reading before I wrote a screenplay about Lyndon Johnson that ultimately became the movie LBJ. Making this film was the most rewarding experience of my career. I was lucky enough to reteam with Rob Reiner and Woody Harrelson for our next movie, Shock and Awe. I also had the immense pleasure of working for Robert and Michelle King for two seasons of the acclaimed series The Good Fight, the spinoff of CBS's The Good Wife. I am currently the showrunner and an executive producer on Showtime's Your Honor, starring Bryan Cranston. I live in Los Angeles with my wife, Abby, and our son, Teddy. Marrying my best friend and creating a family with her remain the two best decisions of my life. Hosts and PTSI Resilience Trainers John Salerno and Samantha Horwitz talk about A Badge of Honor. Our 2 year anniversary, our inititives and the impact around the world on A Badge of Honor Podcast.Founded in 2019 and establishes as a non-profit in 2021, A Badge of Honor is committed to raising awareness about Post Traumtic Stress and preventing suicide in our first responder and veteran communities."Post-Traumatic Stress Injury (PTSI) has been a silent killer among the law enforcement community for many years. PTSI affects many current and retired officers who quietly battle the daily traumas they have witnessed during their careers. Many hide this injury well, with fake smiles and dark humor, but the fact remains they are hurting inside."Learn more at https://www.abadgeofhonor.com/A Badge of Honor offers workshops to first responders across the nation, working with mental health liasons and critical incident management teams for Post Traumatic Stress Injury Recovery, wellness and resilience.
