From the Henssler Financial Studio this is your news minute on the Marietta Daily Journal Podcast presented by Engineered Solutions of Georgia. Today is Monday, January 1st, and I'm Keith Ippolito. Metro Atlanta posts strong job growth in November In a notable development, the jobless rate in metro Atlanta dipped to 4.2% in November, compared to 4.3% the previous month. The data, provided by the State Department of Labor, indicates a solid job market, especially in the retail and hospitality sectors, reflecting a boost in shopping, dining, and entertainment activities. This year, Atlanta's economic resilience has been conspicuous, attracting talent from across the state and contributing to the majority of new jobs in Georgia. The growth in the job market exceeded expectations, contradicting earlier predictions of an economic downturn. However, certain companies, including FAB Precision Sheetmetal and Truist Bank, have announced layoffs and branch closures, underscoring challenges within specific sectors. Your customer is the lifeblood of your company. We hear this over and over again. Yet, companies don't do a great job of crafting a customer experience that actually meets our needs, values our time, and helps us achieve our goals. Customer experience is all the rage - why do so many companies get it wrong?Today, Aransas Savas and I discuss the myths of customer experience strategy: where companies go wrong in aligning the entire business around the customer's experience and why those end-of-call automated surveys just give you useless data. She shares her own experiences with brands on creating shifts in how the company views customer needs. Aransas shares the concept of "Jobs to Be Done" as a useful way to segment what customers need from you, why journey mapping and Net Promoter Scores don't give you a holistic picture of customer experience, and why it's far more useful to consider modes instead. We discuss how measuring Time Well Spent, Time Well Invested, and Time Well Saved helps both B2C and B2B brands more effectively understand what customers perceive as valuable. Finally, she shares the important highlights from Stone Mantel's recent 2023 Customer Experience Trends Report. To access the episode transcript, please click on the episode title at www.TheEmpathyEdge.com Key Takeaways:Customers are not robots - they will not likely follow the journeys you lay out in an idealized situation. You need to consider the customer every step of the way. The wrong questions are being asked during traditional data collection - as we change the questions and how they're being asked, you will be able to gather more valuable data to move forward in understanding your customer's experience. While AI can help to identify trends, it does still require a human touch to interpret the data for best use. Having a company purpose does not mean you understand your customer's purpose. "There's a functional job to be done, and there's an emotional, social, and aspirational job. If I can understand what all four of those are, I create a much more valuable product than if my product experience is strictly based on the functional job to be done." — Aransas SavasAbout Aransas Savas, Coach & Experience DesignerAransas Savas is a coach, an experience designer at Stone Mantel, and the co-host of the Experience Strategy Podcast. Creating Meaningful Motivation through Understanding Customer Needs  Shep Hyken interviews Aransas Savas, the experience designer at Stone Mantel, and the co-host of the Experience Strategy Podcast. She talks about the transformational experience and creating a more meaningful and valuable relationship between customers and companies.  Top Takeaways:    Transformational experiences involve understanding what truly motivates and inspires customers. This goes beyond mere metrics and focuses on the holistic changes people experience.    Meaningful motivation is key to creating a valuable relationship between a company and its customers. It involves understanding customers' needs and building experiences that cater to those needs, leading to a more lasting and meaningful connection.    Manipulative motivation, where companies use data to manipulate customers for their own needs, is not the ideal approach. Meaningful motivation focuses on creating experiences that genuinely respond to customers' needs and desires.    The power of transformation lies in unlocking and understanding the transformational aspects of a program or service. By shifting focus from just one metric (e.g., weight loss) to a holistic approach, companies can create more meaningful and impactful experiences.    The power of transformation lies in unlocking and understanding the transformational aspects of a program or service. Today, I have the pleasure of speaking with Ellen Perry, founder and Managing Partner of Wealthbridge Partners. In 1989, Ellen co-founded GenSpring Family Offices, which became one of the leading fee-only multifamily office firms and was acquired by SunTust Bank in 2001. The GenSpring brand continues to this day as part of Truist Bank. She is the author of “A Wealth of Possibilities – Navigating Family, Money and Legacy” – a vital resource for families who seek to better understand the qualitative issues associated with their human capital. Ellen talks about her discovery and immersion into family systems theory and shares the key learnings she derived from this body of knowledge and their applications in her work with families. Ellen reflects on the most important priority for any family, and any family system – ensuring the well-being of their children and the success and happiness of the future generation. Having worked with many families to help them prepare their rising generation and pass on the family ethos and values, Ellen shares her observations on how well families are doing today at this all-important task and how successful parents and family leaders are in nurturing the young members of the family to be happy and fulfilled and how they are engaging them to become the future leaders of the family. Ellen offers her tips on the practical frameworks she uses with families to engage and empower their young family members, such as the “Four Meaningful Questions” and the “Life Values Inventory” and talks about how she uses these tools to guide families to establish deeper connections, emotional intimacy, and enhanced well-being for their members. Finally, Ellen contemplates the role of the family's advisors in this process – both the ones working inside the family enterprise or single-family office and the trusted external advisors working for outside firms. She shares her views on what the family wealth advisory industry should be doing to advance the cause of stronger connections within the family and to help families flourish across generations. We hope you enjoy this conversation with one of the most influential and thoughtful founders and shapers of the family wealth advisory field.

The Atlanta Story podcast features meaningful stories of Atlanta's builders, creators, and entrepreneurs. In this episode Jon Birdsong sits down with Shannon Heath Longino, Senior Vice President at Truist Bank where she works on affordable housing initiatives. Shannon was raised by her grandmother, Eva Davis, in the storied East Lake Meadows neighborhood. Through community organization, Shannon was on the front line of transitioning a neighborhood towards greater economic mobility, enhanced resources and infrastructure, and access to education.    In today's interview, Shannon shares stories from East Lake's transformation, lessons and values she learned from her grandmother, her perspective on affordable housing, education, and more.   The Atlanta Story is put together by the folks at Atlanta Ventures -- and we can't wait to share some of the personalities behind the brand. Atlanta Ventures invests in entrepreneurs through community, content, and capital -- most notably through our Studio with companies like Greenzie and Intown Golf Club. We believe the best entrepreneurs learn from other great artists in different fields.   In this episode, we discuss… Shannon describes her experience being born and raised in Atlanta. (1:33) What are some of the grassroots community organizing efforts that you saw work in East lake meadows? (3:10) Could you give an example of your grandmother organizing in the community? (7:52) The neighborhood of East Lake Meadows had a revitalization. Would you walk us through that experience? (9:18) Transitioning to Shannon's story, what were some of the obstacles she took from East Lake Meadows to the military? (13:46) Shannon discussed the vote to move forwards with the revitalization of East Lake and other measures. (21:18)  Do you think that this revitalization is repeatable and scalable across the country? (24:02) Fast forwarding to today, Shannon is involved in charter schools. The opportunities given to people from this is a generational changing moment. Shannon discusses the benefits that this education gives. (29:48) Shannon shares insight into the impact that Tour Championship has in Atlanta. (36:18) Who do the benefits of Tour go to? (38:35) It's very clear that you are passionate about stewarding your grandmother's purpose and mission. How do you take this into Truist every day? (40:33) How Truist helps outside of Georgia (41:59) Affordable housing is a hot topic right now in Atlanta. What would be your council to the leadership today on Affordable housing?  Welcome back to Chakras & Cusswords today's guest is GiGi Diaz is a Mindset & Social Media Branding Coach, media personality, executive producer and host of the Chats with GiGi podcast, and multi-passionate entrepreneur. We are diving deep into the hustle and bustle of chasing success. However, we have to address how to reduce burnout while we are on the grind. So let's get into it.  Guest Bio & Links:  GiGi Diaz the founder of Seizing Happy®; a coaching organization dedicated to nurturing the business and the woman behind the business equally. While growing her first business, GiGi's Academy back in 2003, GiGi earned her Bachelor's degree in Sociology and Anthropology at Florida International University. It was during the pursuit for her Masters Degree in Communications that her life shifted entirely. She was working mornings as a radio host, evenings as a sports reporter, all while excelling in grad school, until the stress and exhaustion led her to an ER after losing her sight while driving. It was then that GiGi realized that the HUSTLE was not the way to the top and that success doesn't come from “doing all the things.” She learned how to create a customized blueprint with the type of action steps that get you farther, faster, with less burnout. After a lot of inner work and learning, GiGi became a Certified Life Coach, specializing in Mindset and Happiness Studies. She founded her coaching business, Seizing Happy and created her signature program the 3Rs System: Reevaluate, Restructure, Reset your Life for Success with Less Stress. GiGi's coaching has helped women heal their relationship with money, create more abundance and joy, boost their confidence and switch their mindset from HUSTLER to CEO so they can finally scale in life and business.  In addition to her coaching and entrepreneurial experience GiGi comes has a media and journalism background of 20 years starting as a writer for print publications at the age of sixteen, working with and being featured on networks like Univision, Telemundo, NBC, iHeartRadio and others. As an influencer she has worked with brands such as Mazda, Truist Bank, Xfinity, Pandora, Topo Chico, and many more. She's a leader, a motivator, and an inspiration.  Life Coach for Women  |  Media Personality Founder Seizing Happy Founder of GiGi's Academy  www.GiGiDiaz.com  www.SeizingHappy.com www.GiGisAcademy.com "La felicidad es una decision!" - G.D.
