“As the seasons change in your life and things shift constantly, remember to focus on the things that are important in that season at that moment.” —Wendy Watson   Many of us put too much pressure on ourselves to be perfect, often, without even realizing it. But striving for the impossible only leads to needless stress and prevents us from enjoying the journey. Therefore, we must remind ourselves that our worth is not defined by how much we achieve in one day or one week, but rather in our ability to let go of that relentless inner critic and give ourselves permission to be human— to make mistakes, learn, and grow at our own pace along the way. This week, Wendy Watson joins Daniel Gomez to discuss letting go of perfectionism and embracing progress. Wendy is the CEO and spiritual therapist at TBR Spiritual Health, helping clients connect their spirituality to daily goals and tasks. As a former corporate employee turned entrepreneur, she guides others in letting go of perfectionism and embracing their highest potential. Tune in as Daniel and Wendy share the 70/0/10 rule to keeping a positive attitude and maintaining peace when faced with stressors, communicating love languages in relationships, choosing progress over unattainable perfection, and embracing pressure as an opportunity for growth.    Be Inspired! with Daniel:  Website (Makings of a Millionaire Mindset) Website (Daniel Gomez Global) Facebook Facebook Group Twitter Instagram LinkedIn Pinterest YouTube Episode Highlights: 02:20 From Angry to Positive 06:52 The Unattainability of Perfection  15:14 Communicating Expectations in Relationships 19:54 Never Returning to a Cubicle Job 27:22 Maintaining a Positive Mindset and Inner Peace in Business 31:55 Embracing Pressure Leads to Growth 36:40 Where Peace Is

As the weather gets warmer, people wear flip flops. While they may be easy and convenient, there are some problems with flip flops. This episode begins with some advice if flip flops are part of your warm weather wardrobe. https://abc7.com/archive/6266861/ Being a perfectionist may seem like a good thing. After all, if you are going to do something, why not do it right? Still, striving for perfection may not be wise in a world where “good enough” is just fine in many cases. Joining me to discuss why perfectionists are the way they are is clinical psychologist Dr. Elizabeth Lombardo author of the book, Better Than Perfect: 7 Strategies to Crush Your Inner Critic and Create a Life You Love (https://amzn.to/32tNfDb). Hearing what she has to say could take a lot of pressure off of you.  Every day, there is a lot of advertising coming at you. That's not necessarily bad, but a lot of that advertising doesn't register with you at all. Joining me to discuss how advertising works is marketing expert Neale Martin author of the book Habit: The 95% of Behavior Marketers Ignore (https://amzn.to/2LGFc02). You'll be surprised to discover how many ads you are exposed to every day and why some work - but most don't. Many people mistake a food allergy for a food intolerance. There is a difference. Crush Your Inner Critic – Part 1 Today we're going to talk about how to crush your inner critic and why it's so important. It's so important because literally, it can change the way you present yourself in your day-to-day life it's a bit like pulling back the curtains of that inner critic taking those curtains away and giving yourself a whole new fresh outlook to base your day on. We want to crush that inner critical thinking pattern because it drains us, it takes us to a place that most times doesn't exist. It's looking at facing that inner critic and finding those strategies and techniques that are going to support us in addressing them. So in this podcast, we have covered the first of the five steps that I think are important in beginning to crush your inner critic. Tune in for my next podcast where I explore more deeply the second step in this process. Where I look at the details of how to begin to rewrite your story and how this helps reduce your inner critical thinking. If you are thinking “I am not sure even where to start” in addressing my inner critical thoughts, we can offer you advice and support with that. If you feel it would help to have a conversation about your next steps – email me directly at ml@dailyations.com and I would be delighted to arrange a time to talk.

What does your inner critic sound like?  Does it tell you you’re not smart enough to do this? Does is highlight the risk involved in everything? Does is compare you to others? Does is remind you of your failures? Whatever it is saying to you, we know that it’s holding you back from doing what you’re made for! Today’s conversation is hyper-focused, homing in on one pin point strategy that I think will bring immense value to you as you try to do the things you’re made to do in this life.  Stephanie is going to help us identify and silence your inner critic. You know, that voice that speaks up just when something exciting or new is about to happen in your life? Just when you’re going to take a step, quit the job, start the job, ask her out, go back to the gym, or hit record - the inner critic loves to speak up at these moments reminding you that you’re not good enough, smart enough, good looking, strong, or creative enough to do this thing.  “If we actually said these things to our best friends, it would be horrifying.” This episode packs a whole lot into it, and Stephanie doesn’t hold back as she uses me to work through her material. I get real here and explore my inner critic, letting you in to what’s really going on in my mind - of course, as you hear my effort to work through this, you will be encouraged to do the same work so you can finally crush that critic and do what you should be doing.
