Joseph Sullivan is a HERO! But I feel like he is one of those under-the-radar heroes. Where the name rings a bell, but you can't quite recall where you know it form. And that is just the way this unassuming fire fighter and father from Bay of Plenty likes it. At the 2012 Olympics, he won a gold medal. His rowing race was so epic that he won a Halberg Award for "New Zealand's Favorite Sporting Moment". He retired prematurely in 2014 after being screwed over by Rowing NZ, something which broke him and took a while to recover from. Since then, he has found a new purpose in the NZ fire service. He got married, had 2 kids. Oh, and trained as a grinder for Team NZ and won the Americas Cup. Twice. It was such an honor to sit with Joseph at the Kawarau fire station to cover all aspects of his incredible life so far. The very high highs. And the very deep lows.

Tara Lipinski, the internationally acclaimed figure skater who won over the world's hearts when she earned the gold medal at the 1998 Nagano Olympics - earning her the distinction as the youngest individual gold medalist ever in Winter Games history - has applied the same grace, finesse and assiduous character as a role model to empower a whole generation of young girls to achieve any goal they set their minds to. Tara was also recognized as the youngest ever World Figure Skating Champion and United States Champion. In the time since her Olympic triumph, Lipinski has taken the same championship-style approach to her roles as a TV sports commentator for NBC, NBC Sports and Universal Sports, an actress, a philanthropist and more. In following her love for performance as a popular professional ice skater into these new high-profile jobs, it is clear Lipinski was born to be a performer both on the ice and on the screen.Today, Tara is NBC's prime time figure skating TV Analyst, covering events like the World Figure Skating Championships, the Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series, the U.S. Figure Skating National Championships and the 2018 Olympic Games in Pyeongchang, South Korea. After her huge success at the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi, Russia, with NBC Sports, she was promoted to the NBC prime time team for the 2018 Olympic Games in South Korea. Aside from figure skating, NBC has enlisted Tara for its live event coverage of the Kentucky Derby, Super Bowl XLIX and 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Previous to her role at NBC, Tara attended Olympic Games where she worked with many of the world's top media outlets and partnered with sponsors, further burnishing her global stature as an iconic Olympian of accomplishment and inspiration. The strength of character, determination, expertise and Tara's infectious joie de vivre that has become her enduring brand can be seen in the golden moments of her winning Olympic performance, yet were instilled at an early age. It all began when as a three-year-old in Sewell, New Jersey, she started roller skating, and went on at age nine to win the primary girls freestyle title at United States Roller Skating Championships. At 13 years old, Lipinski went on to become the first female skater to land a triple loop/triple loop jump combination - a signature element of her performances. On reaching the amateur pinnacle of her sport with her Olympic achievements, Tara turned professional and proved her public appeal has a strong audience draw on such events as Stars on Ice, Champions on Ice and Ice Wars. She co-headlined with Scott Hamilton and Kristi Yamaguchi on the Stars on Ice tour and starred in the Pro Team competition Ice Wars that aired on CBS prime time.A deal with CBS Television resulted in her own primetime special, Tara Lipinski: From This Moment On, and led to dozens of cameo TV appearances and acting roles on such primetime series as Kidding, Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, Malcolm in the Middle, Veronica's Closet, 7th Heaven, and The Young and the Restless, among others.Tara also authored two bestselling books entitled Triumph on Ice and Totally Tara.Lipinski currently divides her time between Los Angeles and New York as well as the house she helped design on the South Carolina coast when she has time to get away from her busy career.ABOUT HER NEW SHOW WEDDING TALK, PREMIERING OCTOBER 13th CHICKEN SOUP FOR THE SOUL ENTERTAINMENT PUTS A RING ON THE ORIGINAL SERIES WEDDING TALK PREMIERING OCTOBER 13thDive into all things weddings with hosts Olympic gold medalist and commentator Tara Lipinski, event planner Jose Rolen and wedding designer Jove MeyerPremieres exclusively on the Chicken Soup for the Soul and Crackle free streaming appsCrackle Plus, a Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment (Nasdaq: CSSE) company and one of the largest operators of advertising-supported video on demand (AVOD) streaming services, today announced the original series, Wedding Talk, starring hosts Tara Lipinski, Jose Rolon and Jove Meyer will debut October 13. Relationships are one of the most important aspects of our lives. They have the power to help us grow, heal, learn and discover so much about ourselves. They also have the ability to crush us. Relationships can magnify our greatest fears. They mirror the parts of ourselves we've neglected or ignored. They can leave us feeling so vulnerable and heartbroken when someone leaves us, cheats on us, or doesn't live up to our expectations. But! While fans choose sides, there really was no right or wrong side to come out of the events surrounding "The Press Conference From Hell". Is this the wake up call AEW and Tony Khan specifically needed to settle some egos? Mike McGuire and Dave Meltzer spend an extended session trying to analyze what could have lead to arguably AEW's most embarrassing moment, and took the spotlight off an otherwise successful Pay-Per-View. Dave sticks around to talk about Strowman, WWE's decision NOT to crown any new champions in Cardiff, and what's lead to Gable Steveson all but disappearing from reference since being touted as WWE's latest Olympic Gold Medalist signee. Afterwards, Mike and SNME Original, Dan "The Mouth" Lovranski take a look at controversies backstage and why this latest happening has garnered so much more attention. That was just kind of what you did, you had to be in shape for the job. One day, a tree fell on him fracturing his back. After that he was forced to slow down and learn how to train smart so he could get back to running again. This injury led to Matt's guiding principle: FIT, which stands for Focused Intentional Training. It really is about helping people gain function through training. Matt started Pendola Training in 2001. I was able to gain strength without doing a bunch of heavy lifting. – Gwen Jorgensen, 2016 Olympic Gold Medalist 14:27 - Around 2011, Matt was coaching high school cross country, and saw that he could use what he had learned about strength training to prevent injuries in endurance athletes. Matt met Bobby McGee in 2015 and his approach to training has evolved incredibly since then. "When I started working closer with elite athletes I was forced to take my learning to the next level. At a certain point I realized with a brick and mortar business I could at most affect 40 people at a time. I built R3 so that I could make everything I've learned over the last 20 years available to any runner at any level." Each and every movement you'll do is designed specifically to help you run stronger. 23:34 - So what is RunFORM - and how can it help you to run faster with less injury? Based on four pillars developed by the #1 running coach in the world, Bobby McGee, and Matt Pendola - Form Drills, Dynamic Mobility Drills, Loaded Mobility, and Banded Dynamics. This easy to follow progression builds week by week adding the perfect mix of adding new movements to your schedule combined with movements you mastered the week before. The time commitment is low, the benefits are high, and the better running you'll achieve will last a lifetime. 33:47 - Matt describes some his biggest highs over his career working with all kinds of athletes. 38:32 - We all have tough times. Matt explains one of his lowest career moments. Keep showing up ... and doing it with intent 42:09 - Strength training can be a bit of an after-thought. Matt explains why strength training is important for the elite/endurance athlete, and how they can best fit it into their busy schedule. 49:38 - Matt lays it all out ... Do your quality run first, recover within about 8 hours, then strength train later that same day. 52:54 - Matt has his LMT licence and explains why and how he utilises massage within his coaching of athletes. In the United States, massage therapists who hold a state license to practice are typically known as LMTs, whereas Canadian counterparts are known as registered massage therapists or RMTs. 59:02 - The future for Matt Pendola. What and who are the professional athletes he is working with? What's next for Matt? 1:07:25 - Conclusion

I don't care if you have an interest in beach volleyball, if you want to know what a winner's mindset is, then this is a conversation for you.
