David Raiklen is an American composer best known for the science fiction series Space Command and for the Emmy winning Mia, A Dancer's Journey. David was mentored by Oscar winner John Williams and Pulitzer Prize winner Mel Powel. Dr. Raiklen studied at USC, UCLA, and CalArts and later taught at those universities. He has worked for the major studios including Sony, Fox, Disney, Sprint, Mattel, Warner Bros and PBS, plus many independent productions. His projects have starred Elliott Gould, Doug Jones, Blythe Danner, and Martin Sheen. David made the New York Film Critics Top Ten with the documentary Heist, the short list for an Academy Award® for Worth, and Mia, A Dancer's Journey won the Emmy. An oratorio for the Lewis and Clark Bicentennial titled Discovery, a mixed reality giant projection event for the Center Theater Group's 50th anniversary, episodes of Star Trek Continues, and a violin concerto for festival darling Worth. Our guest, David Raiklen, is a producer/composer/songwriter/host. He began studying keyboard and composing at age 5, and wrote, directed and scored his first film at age 9. David studied composition at USC and Cal Arts. Among his mentors are Oscar winner John Williams and Pulitzer Prize winner Mel Powel. He's worked for Fox, Sony, Disney, Sprint, Mattel, Warner Bros and PBS. David has scored 18 feature films, winning multiple awards including a 2004 American Music Center Grant, three Telly Awards and the 2009 Park City Festival Audience Choice Award and Gold Medal.You can find David at his website DavidRaiklen.com.

27 June 2012 | Welcome everyone to our first episode of Trek It Out! Trek It Out is a production of the Priority One Staff and hosted on www.priorityonepodcast.com. Trek it Out is conceived as a general interest Science Fiction podcast. In producing this show, our intention is to provide an outlet for news, interviews and opinions on topics that are not directly related to the main interest of Priority One, Star Trek Online. Trek It Out will not at this point be a weekly show. We will produce new Episodes of Trek It Out as the opportunity for great interviews and interesting topics presents itself. So without further ado, this week on Trek It Out, we would like to present...Space Command! We reached out to the cast and crew of the forthcoming Science Fiction epic, and boy are we glad we did! We spent over an hour discussing this exciting project, as well as some of the past projects they have been involved with like, oh I don't know, Star Trek: TNG, Battlestar Galactica (reboot), The Twilight Zone, Star Wars, Sliders, Babylon 5, Terminator 2, and the list goes on.
