Susanna Styron is a writer and director for film and television, and a documentary filmmaker.  Her latest documentary short, MY FATHER'S NAME, won Best Documentary in the NYWIFT Online Shorts Festival and is on the 2024-25 festival circuit. Susanna's documentary feature, OUT OF MY HEAD, premiered in MoMA's Doc Fortnight and went on to win Best International Documentary at the Melbourne Documentary Film festival. Her other documentary credits as writer/director include 9/12: FROM CHAOS TO COMMUNITY; IN OUR OWN BACKYARDS; and SUSPENDED SENTENCE. She began her documentary career as an Associate Producer for ABC-TV's documentary division, Close-Up. Susanna's debut feature, Sony Pictures' SHADRACH, starring Harvey Keitel and Andie MacDowell, which she directed and co-wrote, premiered at the Venice Film Festival and was one of New York Press critic Armond White's top ten films of the year. She wrote and directed for Sidney Lumet's TV series 100 CENTRE STREET, and wrote for Tom Fontana's BORGIA. Susanna co-authored several TV movies for Hallmark Hall of Fame and Lifetime, including an adaptation of Ann Tyler's BACK WHEN WE WERE GROWN-UPS, with Blythe Danner, Peter Fonda and Faye Dunaway; and the award-winning TAKING BACK OUR TOWN, with Ruby Dee. Her dramatic short, HOUSE OF TEETH, which she wrote and directed, won numerous awards on the festival circuit, aired on Shorts TV, and is available on Amazon. She directed several episodes of Brooke Adams and Lynne Adams' web series ALL DOWNHILL FROM HERE. Susanna's personal essays have appeared in The Yale Revue, SPIN Magazine, The New York Times and Real Simple magazine. PAUL LEONARD-MORGAN Paul Leonard-Morgan is a BAFTA award-winning, Emmy and Ivor Novello-nominated composer and producer. His unique cinematic style of fusing orchestra with electronica has put him in high demand as a score composer & band producer, as well as a performer and artist in his own right. His film scores include DREDD, LIMITLESS, LAST BREATH, GIGI & NATE and 20th Century Studios BOSTON STRANGLER, starring Keira Knightley, directed by Matt Ruskin. He has worked on a string of projects with Academy-Award winning director Errol Morris including the features THE B-SIDE, MY PSYCHEDELIC LOVE STORY, the award-winning Netflix series WORMWOOD and the Steve Bannon documentary AMERICAN DHARMA. Recent projects include this years' INHERITANCE (teaming up again with Neil Burger), the Sundance feature THE TOMORROW MAN (starring Blythe Danner and John Lithgow), BEST SELLERS (starring Michael Caine and Aubrey Plaza), the Emmy-winning The Hunt For Planet B, directed by Academy-Award nominee Nathaniel Kahn, as well as the HBO feature documentary LUCY THE HUMAN CHIMP. Leonard-Morgan's first video game soundtrack (EA Games' flagship BATTLEFIELD HARDLINE) was released in 2015, the success of which led him to score WARHAMMER: DAWN OF WAR 3 released in 2017, followed by the global hit CYBERPUNK 2077 and CALL OF DUTY MOBILE in 2021. Recent concert work includes his concerto commission for Orchestre Nationale de Bretagne, which premiered in France in 2021 and his latest album of études for piano and cello which is currently being choreographed by members of the San Francis ballet. Meet the Fockers is a 2004 romantic comedy directed by Jay Roach, Jay also directed the original Meet the Parents, as well as Dinner for Schmucks, The Austin Powers series. Meet the Fockers is the sequel to Meet the Parents, we have Greg or ‘Gaylord' Focker played by Ben Stiller. Greg is engaged to Pam Byrnes played by Teri Polo, the contents of the first film was Greg meeting Pam's parents Jack Byrnes played by Robert De Niro and Dina played by Blythe Danner. The short of that story is that Jack is a retired CIA agent and did everything he could do disrupt, undermine and ultimately break up Greg and Pam before finally agreeing that Greg was indeed a good guy and a good match. David Raiklen is an American composer best known for the science fiction series Space Command and for the Emmy winning Mia, A Dancer's Journey. David was mentored by Oscar winner John Williams and Pulitzer Prize winner Mel Powel. Dr. Raiklen studied at USC, UCLA, and CalArts and later taught at those universities. He has worked for the major studios including Sony, Fox, Disney, Sprint, Mattel, Warner Bros and PBS, plus many independent productions. His projects have starred Elliott Gould, Doug Jones, Blythe Danner, and Martin Sheen. David made the New York Film Critics Top Ten with the documentary Heist, the short list for an Academy Award® for Worth, and Mia, A Dancer's Journey won the Emmy. An oratorio for the Lewis and Clark Bicentennial titled Discovery, a mixed reality giant projection event for the Center Theater Group's 50th anniversary, episodes of Star Trek Continues, and a violin concerto for festival darling Worth. David Raiklen compositions have been performed at the Hollywood Bowl and Disney Hall. He was also host of a successful radio series, Classical Fan Club, where guests include Yo-Yo Ma and John Williams; and was host and leader of The Academy of Scoring Arts seminars. sincere apologies for the plethora of engineering errors on this week's program --- I've been up very late the last several nights trying to locate the second episode of "Tattingers" (1988) in which Stephen Collins' titular character tangles with a young provocateur quite obviously based on Peter Missing. While I remember this (awful) episode quite vividly, I've not been able to find the footage on any of the streaming services (I did, however, learn that MUBI and Tubi are two entirely different platforms, so there's that) or in the darkest corners of the internet. Please don't insult my fantastic memory by asking, "did that really happen?". I promise you it did and this week's episode is dedicated to making sure it never happens again.

What's wrong with Larry Abbot?  The radio star is having bouts of fear, perhaps a remnant of childhood trauma.  Otherwise, everything seems to be swell:  he's engaged to be married to his scene partner, the delightful Vickie Pearle.  But the radio show, hosted by the Manhattan Mystery Theater and lead sponsor Ralston-Purina are concerned about Larry's mental health, so they've hired Larry's Uncle Paul, a psychiatrist. to employ a radical cure that will rid Larry of his fears in no more than 36 hours.  And off go Larry and Vickie to Larry's ancestral stomping grounds, a palatial estate that bears a striking resemblance to, well, let's just say we've seen it before.  Just like the Abbot family butler, Pfister, and the maid, the diminutive Rachel – there's something familiar about them as well.  What's new are the cast of characters that assemble at the estate for Larry and Vickie's wedding – Larry's cousins Charles, Nora, Susan, and Francis Jr., all of whom seem to have ulterior motives of one kind of another, some of which may include death or inheriting the fortune of the family matriarch, Aunt Kate.  Will Larry and Vickie make it through the next couple days intact?  Will we, the audience, figure out what's really going on?  Maybe so, but we'll have to sit through all 82 minutes of this film to find out. I've got nipples Greg... Can you milk me? What an incredible line, and what an unbelievably good comedy to get stuck into this week. Today's film is hopefully one that has had you laughing so much you've almost cried, as Ben and Jack delve deep into the glorious treasure trove that is the 2000 comedy, 'Meet the Parents'.Ben Stiller stars as Greg alongside Robert De Niro as Jack Burns as we follow Stiller's Greg desperate attempts to achieve Jack and his wife Dina's (Blythe Danner) approval to marry their daughter Pam - played wonderfully by Teri Polo. Given that at one point or another within almost all of our lives we'll experience that nerve shredding experience of trying to impress our in-laws this film has to many crossovers that Ben and Jack can relate to.There's an unbelievable supporting cast that we make sure to give a big nod to and on top of this we pick out our favourite lines from the film. We had no choice but to get well and truly head first into the poem, the brilliant grace scene and Puff the Magic Dragon. We talk through the circle of trust and we even get a chance to sneak a line in or two about the magnificent sequel Meet the Fockers.It goes without saying that given Stiller and De Niro go head to head throughout the film we have to get into an epic gunslinger for the MVP within this one, and as we always do we'll get into how the film has aged. But for the record - how much did you laugh in this one? As I come from a two decade run of working in the movies, chord of nostalgia is plucked in me when I get to have an entertainment writer on the show, in TV nonetheless, which I could never break into.
