On the Byrne FF side of things, we've got two great issues and one very solidly okay one. In the "great" column we have the FF battling Ego The Living Planet in issue 235 -- one of Kevin's favorite FF issues ever! Then in issue 236 there is one of the most revered issues in Byrne's whole run - "Terror In A Tiny Town" which has the FF facing off against The Puppet Master, Dr. Doom as well as.... their own minds! Then issue 237 is pretty okay too. We also get into our mail which has a listener fan-casting a Fred Hembeck movie(?), and pleas for us to read more X-Men (no, but thank you). How could an episode be made into two parts with the split occurring at the very end of the movie's synopsis? Lots of disagreement about Yondu, apparently. Join Eduardo, Peach3z, Chris, and Robbie as they conclude their discussion of GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2. Where will it end up in everyone's rankings? The answer may surprise you!
It's our most contentious episode yet as the guys get together to talk about GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2! Battle lines will be drawn as Eduardo and Peach3z find Drax too ridiculous to take seriously, while Chris and Robbie want to focus on the heart beneath the humor (but also the humor). There was so much to talk about, we actually had to split this into two episodes! So come a little bit closer and enjoy part one of this wham bam shang-a-lang of a podcast!
The guys are one short this week with Matthew in San Francisco hitting up all the gay bars. Josh and Ben miss him so they can't help but talk all the crap possible; spawning the creation of Ego The Living Planet.
As Ego and Galactus duke it out, Thor jumps into the fray to side with the living planet. But will the added strength of a God be enough to claim victory from the Devourer of Worlds? When the threat that is Galactus sets his eyes and appetite on a planet, it's damn near impossible to stop him. But that won't stop Tana Nile, a Colonizer from the planet Rigel, from enlisting Thor to help. Do you have a story arc you'd like us to cover? Send us your ideas. You can probably count the number of actors whose iconic roles you can count on the fingers of two hands on the fingers of, erm, one hand. Kurt Russell is one of those actors. After all, he's played Elvis Presley, Snake Plissken, R.J. Macready, Jack Burton, Tango-or-Cash, Stuntman Mike, Ego The Living Planet, and Wyatt Earp across the breadth of an incredible career that's spanned nearly six decades. And now he's added Santa Claus to the list, with his fun turn as Father Christmas in The Christmas Chronicles. It makes sense - a man with a beard like that just had to play Santa one day. In this very special interview, Chris Hewitt sits down with Russell to talk about playing Santa, and his wider career, with particular emphasis on the works of one John Carpenter. Enjoy. The Christmas Chronicles is out now on Netflix.
Chubby Wizard: Wrath Of The Manticore Ebook Chubby Wizard: Wrath Of The Manticore Paperback Ego is alive, and he's a planet. He also has a large ego as the name would imply. He first showed up as an enemy of Thor, but later crossed paths with The Fantastic Four, Rom and Nova. He recently had his big screen debut in Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 so I decided to talk about him. Check it out! Thanks Kirby Krackle for the theme music!
