Happy Thanksgiving week! Just a few major stories to break down this week. FarCry is headed to television on FX with Rob Mac staring, which is the right type of chaos that show needs. Wicked went off to see the wizard with a big box office take, and it might not be, for good. Plus Rush Hour 4 is happening, and the reason why is pretty unusual. That and more on this weeks episode.
Jim and Dan return with a pre-Thanksgiving episode that mixes Orlando sidewalks, MCU speculation, and a defrosting turkey that may or may not be plotting its escape. They cover everything from Universal's uneven holiday decorations to the unexpectedly emotional Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony for Chadwick Boseman. From there, the guys dive headfirst into Marvel's latest rumblings, including Wonder Man's very meta cameo and the increasingly loud whispers about the Russo Brothers shaping the MCU's next storytelling era. It's a lively one, recorded just days before the pie-and-TV marathon begins. NEWS Universal Orlando holiday observations, including the conspicuously undecorated Marvel Super Hero Island and a stellar Captain America meet and greet. Updates on Black Panther 3, including casting buzz and the heartfelt Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony honoring Chadwick Boseman. Early discussion of Doomsday, Secret Wars, and shifting MCU release timelines. New info on Disney Plus' Wonder Man series and its unexpectedly meta Josh Gad connection. The Avatar: Fire and Ash runtime reveal and how it ties into the first Doomsday trailer launch. FEATURE Why the Russo Brothers may return as creative architects of Marvel's “Mutant Saga,” and what that means after the bumpy post-Endgame years. How the MCU's parliament is shifting strategy away from homework-heavy storytelling. What the Russos must resolve as Marvel transitions out of the multiverse era and toward a unified, mutant-inclusive future. For this episode's full show notes, click here. Today we have an unusual episode for you. We're taking a swing back into Hollywood's golden age with the biggest radio show adapting popular movies at that time, Lux Radio Theater. This episode features a rehearsal recording (never broadcast) of the radio adaptation of Wonder Man, a comedy/fantasy starring Danny Kaye and Virginia Mayo. There's lots of goofing around here, along with those Lux Soap commercials that kept mid-century America's underthings so dainty. After that, we bring you a collection of some rare behind-the-scenes recordings we found deep in the vaults, including producer William Keighley's 1945 audition to replace Cecil B. DeMille as host, a 1947 interview with him, and a recording for a 1948 Lever Brothers banquet featuring Greer Garson, Margaret O'Brien, and Jimmy Durante. A fun, interesting peek behind the curtain of a legendary radio program. Welcome to Multiverse News, Your source for Information about all your favorite fictional universesThough Disney and Marvel Studios have remained tight-lipped and cagey concerning details around the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, the Internet, and a few reputable trades, have collectively discerned that we apparently “know when the Avengers: Doomsday trailer is coming.” The prognosticators have deytermined the trailer will be attached to December's Avatar: Fire & Ash – big news, if true! Comic-Con was lit. We saw panels for Marvel, Mortal Kombat, and a new show called The Beauty. Highlights: • Marvel Zombies — 4 episodes. Not canon. But Blade + Moon Knight powers? Dope. • X-Men '97 — New showrunners. Same as the first showrunners. Trailer was sick. • Daredevil Season 2 — trailer blew up. Jessica Jones shows. It's bigger, wilder, leads into Brand New Day. Season 3 also confirmed. • Wonder Man — meta AF. An actor chasing a superhero life? Could end up with actual powers. • Vision Quest — most of this one's inside Vision's head. He's wrestling with all his AIs (Jarvis, FRIDAY, Karen, Ultron, Edith), and one of his kids might still be alive. • Mortal Kombat 2 — they dropped a 5-min clip. We get realm traveling (Baraka's realm seen), a more humorous tone, and a deeper Johnny Cage journey. NEED MERCH?!: www.insensitivemerch.com Join the cult of Casual Nerds and get up to 15% off! Frank and Squeaks break down the biggest New York Comic Con headlines, from Invincible season 4 and Batman Knightfall to X-Men '97 and Marvel's Wonder Man. They give honest, spoiler-light reactions to the Peacemaker season 2 finale, talk about what the show sets up for the DCU, and then welcome voice actor Jordan Reynolds for a deep dive on playing Adam Warlock in Marvel Rivals. Jordan explains his audition process, how direction shapes in-game performance, and why Adam should feel like a calm anchor when the fight gets chaotic. Timestamps and Topics 00:00 Cold open and Peacemaker gag, show rundown 01:25 What's on deck today – NYCC news, Peacemaker S2 review, interview with Jordan Reynolds 02:17 Invincible S4 dated for March 2026, where the story heads, cosmic scale, and why Thragg raises the stakes 08:33 Batman: Knightfall animated event – four films starting in 2026, hopes for DC's new animated era 12:25 X-Men '97 – season 2 in summer 2026 with Apocalypse focus, season 3 already planned, Four Horsemen and Onslaught talk 18:27 Wonder Man trailer – Hollywood satire vibes, how meta Marvel might go, January 27, 2026 launch window 24:17 VisionQuest – James Spader back as Ultron, Stark AIs in human form, Speed casting, the “WandaVision-Agatha-VisionQuest” trilogy idea 30:01 Mortal Kombat – MK III confirmed, MK II moves to May 2026, where the films could escalate next 33:09 Starfleet Academy trailer reactions – teen drama concerns vs Trek world-building 37:23 A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms – lighter tone, Ashford tourney focus, January 18, 2026 premiere 43:50 Peacemaker S2 review – why the season works, why the finale felt underwhelming, multiverse town twist, Keith thread 51:17 DCU setup – Checkmate hints, Salvation Run ideas, how this could feed into Superman and government vs metahumans 58:45 What's next – could Peacemaker shift into a Checkmate-style series, Lanterns connections 1:02:15 Interview: Jordan Reynolds (Adam Warlock) – audition approach, building a “stable, reliable” voice, methodical healer playstyle, directing alt callouts and action barks Key Takeaways Invincible's next chapter leans harder into the cosmic war and should bring Thragg front and center. DC's animated Knightfall could set the tone for a fresh post-DCEU animation slate. X-Men '97 is thinking big with Apocalypse while still leaving room for classic arcs to surface later. Wonder Man looks like a character study about actors and fame first, superhero spectacle second. VisionQuest aims at identity and fatherhood, with Ultron and Stark AIs complicating Vision's humanity. MK III is happening while MK II shifts to May 2026, likely escalating from tournament to Earthrealm stakes. Starfleet Academy's tone split the room, but the world of Trek can still benefit from smaller-scale stories done right. Peacemaker S2 delivers heart and growth for Chris Smith, even if the finale plays more like a handoff to the wider DCU. Checkmate and “metahumans vs government” are poised to be a major connective thread into Superman. Jordan Reynolds frames Adam Warlock as the calm center of a chaotic match – measured, hopeful, and precise. Quotes “Season one was a Peacemaker season. This one felt like a Chris season.” “I just wanted him to be happy.” “Ultron is a better villain than one movie. He deserves to be around more.” “If you cannot move fast, you have to be very conscious about your choices.” – Jordan Reynolds “He should feel stable, reliable, an anchor for the team.” – Jordan Reynolds on Adam Warlock Call to Action Enjoying the show?
