Loves got the world in motion as we steam roller our way towards the start of Euro 2020 by taking a look at Group C. Sorry Scotland fans but you will always be the butt of our jokes. We are England fans after all. We do love the new Irn Bru ads though, even if we aren't sure what it is. We're also hoping that Andrew Considine's omission from Steve Clarke's squad won't stop the rest of the players from singing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9YdW_7R2ncs (Yes Sir, I can Boogie) in the dressing room. Our knowledge of the Czech Republic extends to former giants like Jan Koller, Karel Poborský and Antonín Panenka; who leads us onto Danny's complete dislike for penalties which aren't given a good old smashing. Croatia are a worry for the podcast team as they think back to previous defeats to the Czech's. The 2018 World Cup semi-final. The Wally with the Brolly game in 2008 and the time Goran Ivanišević broke Tim Henman's heart at Wimbledon in 2001. And as for our boys in white, red and blue? Well, it's coming home isn't it!?! Is Jack Grealish the new Gazza? Have we learned anything from the friendlies against Austria and Romania? Will Gareth Southgate revert to type in the first game against Croatia? We're chatting all this and more on today's podcast. Please leave us a review on Apple Podcasts and tell your friends about the podcast. LISTEN TO RUSSELL HARGREAVES TALK WITH RADIO SPORT BREAKFASTDeprived of a seat inside the stadium through no fault of their own, a small band of loyal England supporters watched the game from a hilltop overlooking the virtually empty ground. There wasn't much to see.England and Croatia played to a 0-0 draw in the UEFA Nations League on Friday, a lackluster match that took place in front of no fans as the Croats completed a stadium ban imposed in 2015.While this was Croatia's fifth behind-closed-doors international, it was a first for England, and that made it a somewhat bizarre experience for not only the players but the few dozen fans who decided to travel to the coastal city of Rijeka to support their team. The shouts of the players and the thud of a kicked ball could be heard distinctly, as could the occasional chants of "Enger-land" and "God Save The Queen" that drifted into the stadium from outside. The only people in the stands were match delegates and members of the media.Given the eerie atmosphere, perhaps it was no surprise the game was such a dud. England struck the goal frame twice — through Eric Dier and Harry Kane — and Marcus Rashford wasted two golden opportunities when one-on-one with the goalkeeper as England had the better of the chances. This was a repeat of the World Cup semifinal won by Croatia in July, and it seemed a world away from that tense, nerve-jangling night in Moscow. The two teams are searching for the form they showed at that tournament, in particular the Croatians. This result came after last month's 6-0 loss to Spain in their opening match of the Nations League. England lost 2-1 to Spain its Group 4 opener in the top-tier League A.Looking to the future, England coach Gareth Southgate gave a debut to Jadon Sancho as a late second-half substitute, and the 18-year-old Borussia Dortmund winger impressed with some surging runs down the right flank.Croatia had received the stadium ban from UEFA three years ago when a swastika was painted on its field ahead of a game.

Hola Big Interview listeners! It is Croatia who have joined France in the World Cup final, beating England last night. It was a compelling match and one which gave me plenty to talk about when I recorded this match review only moments after the end of extra time.England came a long way in Russia but, ultimately, they made some major errors last night which I think cost them a place in Sunday's final. This is my take on what happened in Moscow.Enjoy!Graham See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
