What does the Non-Aligned Movement look like on a plate? Starting with a series of informal dinners in Rijeka and expanding into various events and workshops, Kevin Kenjar (University of Rijeka) pays homage to the Non-Aligned Movement through exploration and fusion of various culinary traditions coming from its numerous member states. In this episode, he reflects on Naan-Aligned Cooking and, with Jelena Đureinović (RECET), explores the tradition of non-alignment through food and cooking. Kevin Kenjar is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Rijeka as part of the ERC project “REVENANT: Revivals of Empire: Nostalgia, Amnesia, Tribulation,” where his research spans a number of sites, particularly in the post-Habsburg and post-Ottoman borderlands. He earned his PhD in Anthropology at UC Berkeley, specializing in Linguistic and Sociocultural Anthropology. His dissertation, which was 300 year micro history of a single street corner in Sarajevo, is the basis of his forthcoming book, “The Street Corner that Started the 20th Century.”

Hrvatska muška rukometna reprezentacija, u drugom krugu natjecanja na Europskom prvenstvu, nanizala dvije pobjede. Nogometaši Istre iznenadili sastav Hajduka, Rijeka izvukla bod, a Dinamo zakucao Osijek na dno ljestvice.

Torn de parlar d'Ivo Nakic, aler històric del Partizan que va vestir l'elàstica negra i blanca dels de Belgrad entre 1986 i 1992. Nascut un 26 de maig de 1966 a Rijeka, Croàcia, Nakic es va convertir en el primer jugador a guanyar dues Copes d'Europa amb dos equips diferents. Dinamo jesenski prvak HNL-a, a u stopu ga prati Hajduk. Rijeka s utakmicom manje nakon lošeg starta peta, a Osijek čvrsto drži dno ljestvice. Uskoro se sastaju nogometne reprezentacije Hrvatske i Brazila.

Zanimljivo 17. kolo sa ukupno 17 postignutih golova. Hajduk je dao 3, a Dinamo, koji je na vrhu ljestvice HNL-a, čak 5 golova. Rijeka na korak do daljnjeg natjecanja u Konferencijskoj ligi, a Dinamu ostaju nade za Europsku ligu.

Rijeka je s čak 5:0 pobijedila Hajduk, koji je najboljeg igrača ostavio na klupi.Navodno ga je bolio stomak. Dinamo je porazio Varaždin, a trener Kovačević je izbjegao novinare. Osijek s igračem manje, do boda.

Hajduk je prvi na prvenstvenoj ljestvici. Dinamo je izgubio u Puli, Rijeka u Varaždinu, a pretposljednja momčad na prvenstvenoj ljestvici je Vukovar. Posljednja momčad je sastav koji godišnje raspolaže s 25 i pol milijuna australskih dolara, Osijek. U ponedjeljak se u Zagrebu okuplja hrvatska nogometna reprezentacija.

Nedaleko Vukovara pronađeni posmrtni ostaci Jean-Michela Nicoliera, koga su kao teško ranjenog hrvatskog branitelja nakon sloma obrane grada u studenom 1991. pripadnici JNA i srpske paravojske zajedno s drugim ranjenicima odveli iz bolnice i ubili izvan grada. Dinamo usred Splita porazio Hajduk. Gorica postaje sve opasnija momčad. Odličan i start zagrebačke Lokomotive Osijek posrće, a Rijeka, trenutačno pretposljednja na ljestvici, igra u ponedjeljak u Vinkovcima s Vukovarom. Zlato i srebro stižu s Europskog streličarskog prvenstva.

Dinamo ima novog predsjednika, Zvonimira Bobana, ali i prvu poraz u prvenstvu. Aktualni nogometni prvak Rijeka na 7. mjestu prvenstvene ljestvice. Izgubio i Hajduk, a probudio se Osijek. Dinamo i Hajduk podijelili bodove sa suparnicima, a Dinamo zbog gol razlike zadržao prvo mjesto na ljestvici. Osijek s Vukovarom čuva dno ljestvice. Slijede dvije utakmice europskog dijela natjecanja u skupinama za Svjetsko nogometno prvenstvo, a Rijeka i Dinamo doznali suparnike u europskim ligama.

Diese Folge präsentieren Krsto und Danijel direkt aus ihrem Sommerurlaub. Naja, nicht ganz. Natürlich sind sie inzwischen wieder zurück in Deutschland. Doch immerhin ein paar Tage konnten sie zusammen in Kroatien verbringen...genauer gesagt in jenem Teil Kroatiens der (for better or worse) vielen Menschen gar nicht so kroatisch vorkommt. Es geht also um Instrien. Jene knapp 3500 Quadratkilometer große Halbinsel westlich von Rijeka und südlich von Triest. Wo das Meer blau, die römischen Amphiteater beeindruckend und die Menschen überraschend unnationalistisch sind. Es geht in dieser Sommerfolge also viel um Landschaft und Sehenswürdigkeiten. Aber auch um eine Mentalität des Miteinanders, die man auf dem Balkan eher selten findet - und die ziemlich vielen Patridioten egal welcher Nationalität ein Dorn im Auge ist. Nebenbei erfahrt Ihr, wie sich die politische Stimmung in Kroatien nach der als Konzert getarnten faschistischen Masseniszenierung von Fascho-Rocker Thompson geändert hat, wie die Kärntner Polizei mit Antifaschisten umgeht, die am Gedenkort eines SS-Massakers angeblich gegen die Camping-Verordnung (!) verstoßen und ob Krsto von Danijel diesmal mit Schnaps begrüßt wurde, wie es sich gehört.

U Rijeci se, prije dvije kvalifikacijske utakmice za Svjetsko prvenstvo, okupila hrvatska nogometna reprezentacija. Rijeka je prije toga slavila, i nakon prvenstva osvojila i kup. Nogometaši Rijeke novi su prvaci Hrvatske, drugi put u svojoj povijesti, nakon pobjede rezultatom 2-0 u susretu sa sastavom Slaven Belupa na svom igralištu, dok je s istim brojem bodova na drugom mjestu ostao Dinamo. Treći je Hajduk s dva boda manje za vodećim dvojcem.

U Hrvatskoj i dalje nekoliko stotina tisuća registriranih birača više nego odraslih osoba. Vladajući HDZ pomeo SDP, osim u Zagrebu gdje je najveća oporbena lijeva stranka tek partner stranci na ljevici, Možemo. I to ne mora biti sve, jer u drugi izborni krug idu Dubrovnik, Šibenik, Karlovac, Pula, Slavonski Brod, Zadar, Rijeka i Split. Rijeka gotovo sigurno gubi lijevu opciju u Gradskom vijeću, a ni gradonačelnik neće biti SDP-ovac. Za isti stol, po svemu sudeći, nakon dugo vremena, sjedaju predsjednik Vlade, Plenković i predsjednik države, Milanović. Raspravljat će i o povratku vojnog roka. Modrić nakon gotovo 600 odigranih utakmica u dresu Real Madrida odlazi iz kluba.

Hajduk je sve dalje od mjesta prvaka Hrvatske za ovu sezonu. Rijeka je ostala prva na prvenstvenoj ljestvici, a prati je Dinamo s bodom manje. Šest bodova Osijeku bježi Varaždin, koji je na četvrtom mjestu, koje vodi u europska natjecanja. Ispred Osijeka su još Istra i Slaven Belupo. Na začelju ljestvice je Šibenik, a Gorica i Lokomotiva po svemu su sudeći ostaju u ligi. Odličan nastup hrvatskih karatistkinja i karatista na Europskom prvenstvu.

U povodu obilježavanja 28 godina postojanja i kontinuiranog rada hora "Modra rijeka" iz Sydneya donosimo razgovor sa profesoricom Slađanom Hodžić, muzičkim pedagogom, dirigenticom i osnivačicom hora "Modra rijeka", koji svojim višedecenijskim radom pronosi širom Australije ljepotu bosanske pjesme, te čuva od zaborava neprocjenjivo blago bosanskohercegovačkog kulturnog naslijeđa. Hor "Modra rijeka" će 10. maja održati svoj redovni godišnji koncert u Sydneyu, slaveći uzajamno poštovanje i ljubav prema muzici, tradiciji i zajedništvu. Pjevanje u horu donijelo je opuštanje, duševni mir, iscjeljenje, međusobno poštovanje. "Sve bilo je muzika..."

Osijek, koji je nanizao 8 utakmica bez pobjede, na kraju bi mogao odlučivati o prvaku. Izgubili Hajduk i Rijeka, a Dinamo u derbiju uzeo 3 boda. Najbolja hrvatska tenisačica Donna Vekić plasirala se u osminu finala WTA 1000 turnira u Madridu.

Walton, the PI; Kevin Kenjar, a post-doctoral researcher and Matea Magdić, a PhD Researcher on the project. Revenant examines how in Central Europe, the Balkans, and in the Middle East bygone imperial projects are increasingly inseparable from contemporary political, social, and cultural life. In the podcast we discussed various aspects of imperial and post-imperial memory from a famous street corner in Sarajevo, to Croatian literature to a largely forgotten Arctic expedition, and also put the coloniality and post-coloniality of the three empires – Habsburg, Ottoman, Romanov – under the microscope.
