It wasn't pretty, but Charlotte FC earned a point against the Sounders on a rainy night in Seattle. Matt Swift and Corey Inscoe are joined by special guest Russell Varner to discuss the bright spots from the match – like Malanda rising like a salmon for a corner kick goal – and also any worries we have about the team after the performance. We also see where Own Goal ranks on the list of all-time goal scorers for the crown and answer your listener questions. Also, we've launched a new way you can connect with the show! Adam Hurrey, David Walker and Nick Miller entertain this month's listener entries for Mesut Haaland Dicks, as the Clichés faithful nominate their niche footballing fascinations and irritations. Among the selections are the various types of football-related social media profile pictures, the efficient language of mid-game team-mate praise, the correct level of thanks a ball boy should get from players and the appropriate celebration for an opposition own goal. Meanwhile, the Adjudication Panel enjoy the reaction to England manager Thomas Tuchel working from home and some unexpected Premier League chat in the Italian parliament. The Football Governance Bill is currently being considered in the House of Lords. It's designed to establish an independent football regulator. No team in the football pyramid will be allowed to play professionally without the regulator's permission. Does the Premier League really require these sorts of regulations? Will such a rigid system, and unprecedented powers, change the game for the better? Paul Goodman, Senior Fellow at Policy Exchange, wrote about the bill in The Spectator. He discusses alongside Rod Liddle, Spectator columnist, and Freddy Gray.

What can possibly go wrong when you tell Arab voters "Trump will be worse, so STFU"?Arabs in Media interviews Abdelhalim Abdelrahman, a Palestinian political analyst and journalist who covers Palestinian affairs and the broader Middle East. Based in Dearborn, the epicenter of Arab politics, culture and Arab life in Michigan, the podcast discusses the polls and visceral mood of Arab voters in Michigan - pretty much the most crucial swing state that could decide the election. It could all come down to the 200,000+ Arab voters in SouthEast Michigan, a margin larger than Biden's win in 2020.Polls aside, we discuss with Abdel the mood, where he sees outcomes in Michigan, and the realities on the ground regardless of who wins.Abdel shares the dynamics of the Palestinian cause, the significant addition of Lebanon to the list of countries Israel is bombing, and how that and the affects the political landscape in Michigan of a diverse population led by the largest Iraqi community in the US. (Fans of the Cheneys, they aren't).Does Kamala Harris have any wherewithal or time left to save Michigan? What does that need to look like, or is it too late? We share the critiques of Kamala Harris's campaign and the Democratic Party's policy toward Arab and Muslim American voters. How much of this has been an OWN GOAL, and avoidable? Join us for a fascinating discussion you won't hear in corporate media. And the "shout out" segment at the end is so heartfelt and impactful, it must be shared.About our guest:Abdelhalim Abdelrahman is a Palestinian political analyst and journalist who covers Palestinian affairs and the broader Middle East. His work has been featured in Foreign Policy Magazine, The Hill, The New Arab, Responsible Statecraft, and Antiwar. Abdelhalim is a graduate from Michigan State University where he double-majored in International Relations and Political Theory. The Department of Transport is facing increased pressure to ensure Shannon Airport's available space is utilised amid capacity issues at Dublin. Minister James Lawless is due to meet Ryanair CEO Michael O'Leary today to discuss alternative options over warnings that airfares will hit record levels this Christmas, with airlines forced to divert from Dublin due to the airport's controversial passenger cap. Last year, Dublin Airport accounted for 85% of all Irish air traffic and welcomed just below 32 million passengers, while this year Shannon remains on course to welcome 2 million passengers for the first time since 2009. Shannon Sinn Féin Councillor Donna McGettigan insists the imbalance is severely hindering tourism and economic growth in this county.
