The band strives to perfectly combine their extraordinary music abilities with meaningful lyrics that are delivered through intense vocals. Eternal Void was originally formed back in 2008 as a side project of Drummer Dylan Krebs. After working with Guitarist/Backing Vocalist Evan Hilderbrandt in another project, the two wanted to go in a different direction and with the addition of Vocalist Logan Adams, the band was ready to go into the studio to record their debut album. In 2014, Eternal Void released "Catharsis" (Produced by Brian Hood of 456 Recordings), which showcased their musicianship and diversity. In 2016, the addition of Guitarist Cory May proved to be the missing puzzle piece and solidified the lineup. After seeing success at the local level and sharing the stage with bands like Fit For A King, Otep and Phinehas, the band hit the road on multiple headlining runs. Met with an overwhelming response, hard work and dedication was proving to be paying off. 2017 brought the release of their latest single, "Solipsist" (Produced by Nick Sampson of Metro 37 Studios). Giving fans a glimpse of what's to expect from their upcoming album (mixed/mastered by Hood), the track has catapulted the band to a new level and is currently featured on one of the biggest Metalcore Spotify playlists. Eternal Void will release their sophomore album later this year and looks forward to extensively touring in support of the record. Izzy gives a weekly recap Tree Trimming Adventures Cheat day meals Game of Thrones 21 Years Podcast Suggestions GCP #441 Storyteller - The Typical Johnsons Jeremy and Lynne Siegrist sit down to chat with Izzy Rock about their musical journey and their new album â?? Rustbelt Renaissanc'' Long time friends Jeremy and Lynne began practicing and writing music in 2012 and at the time, neither of them had been playing for more than a year. Knowing only that the lyrics that they were writing could be drawn directly from their lives, they learned on the go preferring to gain experince by playing live shows. Described by listeners as a Folk/ Americana / Roots Rock hybrid in the DIY tradition; the lyrical content is the focal point of all the original songs. Delving into the familiar territory of a life lived, relationships and past success/regrets the music through the filter of both artists attempts to take on a life of its own. Drawing on influences from old Americana artists as well as modern Songwriters the duo tries to maintain the feeling involved with each topic they write about putting their own personal spin on each of the genres they cross. Maintaining a â??bare bonesâ?? approach as much as possible and focusing primarily on the lyrics, in each song they attempt to show a snapshot from the story of a life. Jeremy and Lynne's first release, the full length album "Drawing Blood" was released in March of 2015 and for the next year Jeremy and Lynne continued to perform live as a duo, booking and writing and making new connections. Within the same release year Jeremy and Lynne were also the proud reciepients of the Ohio Music Award for "Best Folk Song" in 2015; for the track "Inside My Head" off of Drawing Blood. Hitting the studio in early 2016 the duo reformed themselves as "JL & The Typical Johnsons" which feature the brothers Andy and Jeff Brogan on lead guitar and bass guitar. For 2016 JL & The Typical Johnsons have released "The Sailor & The Siren" a six song (plus two bonus tracks) EP highlighting what their songs can be with the new lineup. The Claypool Lennon Delirium - The Cricket and the Genie GCP #298 Story Slamm Dayton with Shelly Hulce (8-5-2016) Inspired by the many amazing storytellers in her life, Gladgirl Shelly founded this storytelling initiative after touring in an improv comedy troupe. After discovering the joys of the many NPR story telling formats in programs such as This American Life, StoryCorp and The Moth. Gladgirl contacted The Moth and asked if they would make Dayton a stop on their tours in the area. They weren't interested in little old Dayton, so, in true Gem City style, she pushed on and created her own "moth!" Founded in 2005 with her creation of "A Day In The Life Of ... ", story slamms were born in an Oregon District coffee house called "Jasper Wall Creative Sounds Cafe' " After the closing of Jasper, it would be nearly 5 years before landing in the perfect venue, Ghostlight Coffee, newly opened in 2011. The first Story Slamm at Ghostlight was Dec. of 2011 and has remained a favorite activity for many Dayton story tellers and listeners alike! True Stories! Real Dayton! Inspired by "The Moth", an inclusive performance event that builds community. Watch for announcements of dates & locations. 'What is a story slamm?', you may ask. In the tradition of the national story telling program called 'The Moth', story slamms are events where people gather to tell a story based on the theme of the event. There are few simple rules. 1) The story has to be factual / true and happened to YOU personally. 2) You can use no notes to tell your story. (Has to be conversation style.) 3) Stories must have a beginning, middle and end. 4) Time limit is 10 minutes A range of 1 to 3 judges OR a small audience votes on the following criteria: Uniqueness Delivery. (You're story should have a beginning, middle and end! ) Think of it as a party with old and new friends in a homey atmosphere! Someone takes home a prize, everyone takes home an experience! Sound fun? Well, it IS and it's a great community builder! Below is a link to 'The Moth' so you can see a little of what we are working towards doing with future slamms. http://www.themoth.org/ The prize will be a mix of collected offerings from local Dayton businesses and knicky knacky things hand picked by your host, Gladgirl Shelly. (usually items related to the theme of the month.) Concessions will be available, featuring brews from Dayton's premiere coffee salon, Ghostlight Coffee! ALL AGES! COST: Donations encouraged and appreciated. Doors open and sign up for story slots start at 7:45. Stories begin at 8:00. Henrique Couto is an American writer and film director of horror, comedy, family, and western film genres, from Dayton, Ohio. His first feature film to gain national distribution was Faces of Schlock. The film is about Charlie (Titus Wolverton) who is a professional screenwriter trying to make ends meet by pumping out as many scripts as he can. Erin (Erin R. Ryan) is an actress appearing in films and theater productions hoping to find success and herself in the process. After meeting by chance on a film set they become close friends and share in lamenting over the realities of romance in their lives. Charlie and Erin decide to make a pact to create the greatest romance they can imagine. They plan to write their dates and perform them with all cliches they grew up with and wished would happen to them. However all the romantic overtures don't go off exactly as planned... But as they pretend to have the perfect love will they discover the feelings they could have for each other?
