This episode is part 16 in a series going through the story of the Book of Mormon. This episode covers chapters 9-14 of the book of Mosiah. This is part of the record of King Limhi's grandfather Zeniff that Ammon read.It explains that Zeniff reclaimed the land of Nephi but only by the Lamanites giving him a part of the land. While Zeniff was king, the Nephites and the Lamanites battled several times. The Nephites won, but with bitter casualties.Zeniff helped the land of Nephi prosper before passing the crown to his son Noah. Unlike his namesake, King Noah of the Nephites was kind of like King Belshazzar. He taxed the people and he and his chosen priests lived lavishly.A preacher named Abinadi got into some trouble by pronouncing judgment if the people and king didn't repent. King Noah imprisoned Abinadi, then had him stand before the priests to answer their questions. Abinadi delivered a sermon quoting the ten commandments and Isaiah chapter 53 almost exactly as they are in the King James Bible. We talk about how this poses a challenge to the Book of Mormon being a translation from ancient records as it claims.Further research:Book of Mormon in videoJoseph Smith: The Prophet of the RestorationThe Book of Mormon online: Mosiah [chapters 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14]*** Please contribute to the Hurricane relief fund for A.M. Jumping ahead we discuss the style the Broad Street Bullies played in the 1970s, how different coaching and play styles are, and some rules he would like to see changed. Moving along we talk about Clarkie as a leader, quitting school at 16 years old to pursue hockey, managing his diabetes as a hockey player, playing against Gordie Howe, playing against Wayne Gretzky, and retiring from playing earlier than he wishes. Finishing up we share Ed Snider and Paul Holmgren stories, talk about Bob's time as General Manager, Eric Lindros, and more! Chris Lee and Alfred Ezman preview the Hattiesburg Regional in the 2025 NCAA Baseball Tournament, which features Southern Miss, Alabama, Miami (Florida) and Columbia. Southern Miss has one of the best pitchers in the country (and a potential Major League starter) in ace JB Middleton, as well as a bevy of other talented arms in closer Colby Allen and Matt Adams. The Golden Eagles bashed 97 home runs, 19 coming from Sun Belt Player of the Year Nick Monistere as well as 17 from first baseman Matthew Russo and 15 from right fielder Carson Paetow. It's a complete team that'll be a tough out in its own regional. But Alabama has big-time talent, too, in potential 2025 first-round righty Riley Quick, another talented starter in lefty Zane Adams and a good back-end-of-the-bullpen in closer Carson Ozmer and Braylon Myers. The Crimson Tide also feature shortstop Justin Lebron (the potential first pick in the 2026 draft) and All-SEC left fielder Kade Snell, plus, a Miami transfer in third baseman Jason Torres. The Crimson Tide had host-worthy metrics and now get the opportunity to prove they were snubbed as a host. Miami got 16 home runs from third baseman Daniel Cuvet throughout a balanced lineup. The Hurricanes' fate could rest on the shoulders of starters Griffin Hugus and AJ Ciscar, who could pitch the opening two games. Columbia put up big offensive numbers, slugging .508 as a team with Sam Miller (16 home runs) and Anton Lazits (12) leading the way. But the Lions struggled on the mound and will need great efforts from starting pitchers Joe Sheets and Thomas Santana to get out of the regional.

The weekend is so close, I can almost taste those ice-cold beers! Started the morning off with the Thursday Song and we asked each other hypothetical questions. Brian's question for Jean was, "Can you summarize your life so far in under 15 words?" Jean's question for Brian was, "Would you rather a solo work trip to somewhere mundane, or a group work trip to somewhere fun & exciting?" In the news this morning, a La Crosse man is headed to federal prison for dealing meth, an Eau Claire man was charged after pointing a gun at another person & fleeing police, Elon Musk is leaving the Trump administration, nine cities in Wisconsin made this year's list of the best places to live, and Ford has recalled a bunch of vehicles for a camera issue. In sports, the Brewers completed the series sweep of the Red Sox yesterday, the Thunder beat the T-Wolves to advance to the NBA finals, and the Panthers beat the Hurricanes to win the East and move on to the Stanley Cup final. Elsewhere in sports, a change for the PGA tour, Charlie Woods gets a big win, a stabbing after a Knicks/Pacers game, a grounds crew member who didn't want to be on camera, and a very wet post-game interview. We talked about what's on TV today and also discussed "arbitrary anniversaries", and why Tinder is revamping it's app. Great story about a family who was able to learn more about their war hero father thanks to some documentary footage, an aquarium that's hosting a sleepover, and a woman who took her father on her honeymoon after breaking up with her fiancé just days before the wedding. ICYMI, the Falcons made a boo-boo on the internet yesterday. Several food-related stories this morning, including Arby's steak nuggets, a new Twix flavor, and Pizza Hut has a new app! And in today's edition of "Bad News with Happy Music", we had stories about some pigeons on a plane, a woman who hit a kid after he called her fat, some hikers who thought their friend had died, and a guy who DJs at orgies. Her Triumph Over PTSD, In Marriage and Life. Special Episode. Trauma often leaves silent scars. Jen Satterly has emerged as a powerful voice for recovery, resilience, and hope. Her journey, from behind the camera lens to the front lines of healing, reveals a deeply personal and professional commitment to helping others overcome the lingering effects of PTSD, especially within the tight-knit communities of Special Forces veterans and their families. The Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast episode is available for free on their website , Apple Podcasts , Spotify and most major podcast platforms. Jen's story begins not in uniform, but in creativity. As an award-winning advertising specialist and filmmaker, she was invited to embed with elite military units, capturing the essence of Special Operations training missions. Working alongside Navy SEALS, Green Berets, and Army Rangers, she documented the unfiltered reality of war simulation. But what she captured went far beyond the battlefield. It is also promoted across their Facebook , Instagram , LinkedIn , Medium and other platforms. “Being embedded in that world opened my eyes not only to the courage of our warriors,” Jen shared, “but also to the invisible wounds they carry, ones that follow them home.” It was during this time that Jen met Tom Satterly, a retired Command Sgt. Major with Delta Force, and a highly decorated combat veteran. Tom's career had taken him through the darkest corners of modern warfare, including the Battle of Mogadishu, portrayed in the Oscar-winning movie "Black Hawk Down". This brutal engagement marked the longest firefight since Vietnam and left permanent imprints on all who survived. Her Triumph Over PTSD, In Marriage and Life. Look for supporting stories about this and much more from Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast in platforms like Medium , Blogspot and Linkedin . Tom's internal battle didn't end with his military service. Like many veterans, he struggled with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and Jen quickly realized the emotional toll extended beyond the soldier to the entire family unit. Their marriage became both a test and a testament to what love and understanding could achieve in the face of trauma. Together, they founded the All Secure Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping Special Operations warriors and their families heal from the trauma of war. Jen, now a certified health and wellness coach, stepped away from production to focus on helping others navigate life after combat. Their mission: to treat both the seen and unseen wounds of war. “PTS doesn't just affect the veteran,” Jen emphasized. “It's a battle that affects the entire household. Spouses and children experience what's called complex secondary PTSD. They become collateral damage in a war they never signed up for.” Available for free on their website and streaming on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and other podcast platforms. Jenn Satterly co-authored "Arsenal of Hope", a powerful book that delivers practical tools and raw, authentic stories from their life together. In it, Jen draws from both scientific research and lived experience, weaving together tactics to manage PTSD symptoms, from isolation and anxiety to anger and depression, through actionable advice and humor. Her Triumph Over PTSD, In Marriage and Life. “Arsenal of Hope isn't just a book,” Jen said. “It's a lifeline for anyone who feels like they're drowning.” Jen also founded Virago, a platform tailored specifically for women who face PTSD on the home front. Virago, which means a woman of strength, aims to educate, empower, and connect women who are often the silent strength behind our nation's heroes. Their story has resonated with thousands, especially through social platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn, where they regularly share resources, insights, and community events. Their podcast, also titled All Secure, is available on Apple and Spotify, and features unflinching conversations about trauma, healing, and personal transformation. You can listen to his stories and interview on our website for free in addition to platforms like Apple Podcasts and Spotify, and other major podcast platforms. In this episode of the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast listeners will find an unfiltered look into the reality of military marriages, life after combat, and practical recovery strategies. The Satterlys' efforts haven't gone unnoticed. The All Secure Foundation has earned top ratings from nonprofit watchdogs and now serves thousands of veterans and families. Their work fills a vital gap in the support system, especially for those in the elite Special Operations community who often face stigma around seeking help. Her Triumph Over PTSD, In Marriage and Life. Tom, who once led missions capturing war criminals and taking down high-value targets, including Saddam Hussein, now channels his warrior ethos into emotional recovery. He credits Jen not only as his wife but as his partner in healing. “She didn't just marry me,” Tom says. “She married the mission, and together, we're bringing light to a very dark place.” Follow the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and podcast on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Medium and most all social media platforms. The Battle of Mogadishu may have defined Tom's career, but it's the battles fought in the quiet corners of home, through connection, understanding, and advocacy, that now define the couple's legacy. And for Jen, the mission is clear: turn pain into purpose and help others find victory in their own war against PTSD. You can also follow them on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X and other Social Media Platforms. To follow Jen Satterly's journey, connect with her on Social Media like Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn, or visit AllSecureFoundation.org. Her voice, advocacy, and compassion continue to serve those still fighting their battles, long after the gunfire fades. Her Triumph Over PTSD, In Marriage and Life. The interview is available as a free podcast on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and podcast website, also available on platforms like Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and most major podcast outlets. King Benjamin passes the crown of Zarahemla to his son Mosiah. The people all covenant with God and take on the name "the children of Christ."After King Benjamin passes away three years later, King Mosiah sends a band of men to the land of Nephi to find out what happened to others they had sent. Some stay near a hill in Silom outside the land of Nephi while Ammon and his three brothers enter. King Limhi of the Nephites arrests them and asks why they're there. When Limhi finds out they're from Zarahemla just as his grandfather was, they rejoice. The Lamanites had subjected the Nephites to burdensome taxes.Ammon and his brothers learn that some Nephite travelers had retrieved some golden plates from a more ancient civilization. We also find out that a "seer" is superior to an "interpreter" and a "prophet."Further research:Book of Mormon in videoJoseph Smith: The Prophet of the RestorationThe Book of Mormon online: Mosiah [chapters 4, 5, 6, 7, 8]*** Please contribute to the Hurricane relief fund for A.M.
