Building on our Real Ghostbusters episode, we decided to not only focus on the sequel to that legendary cartoon, but spotlight three major animated series the helped shaped the 90s! Drew Mollo (from Splash Pages) is back for the second week in a row, as we tackle The Extreme Ghostbusters, Men In Black The Series and Godzilla The Series! Aside from all being continuations of popular sci-fi/action movies, these fantastic shows were all produced by Richard Raynis and Jeff Kline. 8-Bit Alchemy hosts and weighs in as the other three hosts each take one of the shows to present, along with one episode they loved most. In this first episode of a Patreon-exclusive review series for the remaining 31 episodes of Godzilla: The Series not covered on the show, Nate analyzes episodes three and four of the superior Saturday morning cartoon sequel to the infamous 1998 movie. One episode lets him talk about a prolific screenwriter and novelist, Kurt Vonnegut, and artificial intelligence. The second invites comparisons to most Ultraman series and Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019). That's just a taste of fascinating places Nate goes in his discussion! Hello, Kaiju Lovers! You might be wondering, “Aren't you supposed to cover Destroy All Monsters for Godzilla Redux, Nate?” Yes...but I'm not. For reasons. Anyway, we have the next-best thing: the three-part epic from Godzilla: The Series—“Monster Wars”! And who else could be the guests for animated kaiju shenanigans other than Drew and Jacob from The Cel Cast. They and Nate go through each episode beat-for-beat and analyze everything from the writing to the voice acting to the animation. You'll also hear some great factoids Nate researched about these, the three best episodes of the show. Not to mention he delves into the unmade sequel to Godzilla (1998) that sounds eerily similar to this show! Hello, kaiju lovers! Welcome to MIFV's first Patreon-sponsored episode and TV talk! MIFV MAX member Eli Harris visits Monster Island to discuss three episodes of the criminally underappreciated Godzilla: The Series, the vastly superior Saturday morning cartoon sequel to Godzilla (1998). Their discussion includes the show's the two-part premiere, “New Family,” which picks up where the movie left off, and Eli's favorite episode, "DeadLoch" (ba-dum-tssh), where Zilla Jr. meets the Loch Ness Monster. You'll hear some great facts about Nessie, too. All the while, Eli stings MIFV's intrepid producer, Jimmy From NASA, with the best zingers this side of “the Pond.” Afterward, Nate visits the office of the Monster Island Legal Action Team to meet with Gary and see what the paralegal has uncovered about the Board of Directors—after Gary goes dumpster diving. Check out Eli's podcast, Tokusatsu Beyond. Guest Stars Damon Noyes as both Raymund Martin and Gary This episode's epilogue, “Truth in the Trash,” was written by Nathan Marchand (with Damon Noyes).
