The whole squad is in for the showdown of a lifetime this week, as Thomas Godolkin's plan is finally revealed, so we brought back-up too — Ebube joins the Bankole, Chiagoziem and Oseghale this week to make sense of the finale of 'Gen V' season two. They start by discussing bob-gate, as well as the fandom's mixed feelings about the end of the season and what it could mean for the future of both 'Gen V' and 'The Boys', then they get into the potential plot conveniences while praising the finale's incredible performances (Keeya, please call Oseghale). They also try to decide whether the show used Thomas Godolkin effectively enough, and if there's more to Sage's role than we all initially thought.Plus, Polarity gets his flowers for being the actual adult in the room, and the squad shares their thoughts on the episode's fun cameos, as well as the newly revealed resistance. You can support us here.Subscribe to our Newsletter. Also available on YouTube.Host: Bankole ImoukhuedeGuests: Chiagoziem, Oseghale and EbubeProduction by: Ebube Ubochi
You know that feeling? The bittersweet one?... When your wild theory turns out to be true and you're stoked, but also your wild theory turned out to be true so now your favorite characters are absolutely cooked? Yeah?… Well so do we.On the penultimate episode of Gen V Season 2, Bankole, Chiagoziem and Oseghale find themselves reckoning with the fact that Marie might be not just the Avatar, but Paul Atreides. They get into the true implications of her seemingly limitless power, the extent to which Cate is — or isn't — redeemable, and how Keeya Kings's portrayal of Annabeth is becoming an emotional cornerstone for the season. (Keeya, please call Oseghale if you're reading this). They also make some Godolkin University-educated guesses on who's most likely to die in next week's season finale. Somehow, they additionally end up trying to figure out the mechanics of what is definitely the most repulsive pocket dimension put to fiction. Lock in, buddy. You can support us here.Subscribe to our Newsletter. Also available on YouTube.Host: Bankole ImoukhuedeGuests: Chiagoziem and OseghaleProduction by: Ebube Ubochi
Oh... You need a break? Today?! Nah, not here. Get in, loser — we're heading to a doomsday bunker. The squad is holed up with their favorite billionaire this week as they try to figure out what comes next for the Elmira escapees. They start by being grateful that Sam and the Kool-Aid man have a lot in common, even though he desperately needs to learn how to actually fight, and then try to bridge the gap between Marie and Annabeth. They also debate the wisdom if any, as well as the potential pitfalls, of the storyline and characters of Prime Video's ‘The Boys' becoming more relevant in ‘Gen V', as well as Cipher's plan, power mechanics and true connection to Marie.Plus, some VERY prescient theories for the close of the seasonal arc!You can support us here.Subscribe to our Newsletter. Also available on YouTube.Host: Bankole ImoukhuedeGuests: Chiagoziem and OseghaleProduction by: Ebube Ubochi
*God, if I can somehow get Clancy Brown to introduce this show, it'd be beautiful but now, you'll just have to imagine his deep, rich voice* DAY 2! GIVE IT UP FOR DAY 2, EVERYONE!31 Days of Halloween continues down the Universal Monsters track. Not even a year after DRACULA's release, wunderkind producer Carl Laemmle Jr. comes back swinging with FRANKENSTEIN, a James Whale-directed adaptation of Mary Shelley's novel.Bela Lugosi is interested in returning. Junior is stoked! Lugosi reads the script and waitaminute, this is for the monster; I wanted to be Henry Frankenstein, what the fuck?Enter Boris Karloff, a veteran English stage actor with 80 credits to his name before taking on the role of the lumbering Creature.Borne of the crude surgery of dead parts and a good ol' blast of lightning, this Creature is the product of Frankenstein's (Colin Clive) defiance against God, the natural order, showers (Look in my eyes and truthfully deny it, I dare you. Henry be stinky.) and sanity. This movie established the benchmark for many who would follow. Any mad scientist crafts their lab in response to the bubbling breakers and sparkling electronics of Whale's movie. The locked-knee hobbling accentuated by grunts and baritone moans for any monstrous brute comes from Karloff's performance. Even cartoons joke about angry mobs with torches and pitchforks, aping this movie's ending. The influence reaches further than one can imagine. And while I dock points for the movie meandering about Henry's wedding (The dude just created life and you people wanna think about bouquets?) and a lack of time developing the Creature's intelligence, as does the novel, that influence makes this a must-watch. For this Universal Monsters run, it's important to see where we've been to better chart where horror can go. ---Follow, rate and review THE MOVIES wherever you listen to podcasts!Follow THE MOVIES on Instagram, Bluesky & Letterboxd
Welcome to fifth period, where we've got milk merchants, karma and comedy in session!Oseghale is back! And he's showing Bankole and Chiagoziem the insights that just might help Marie take down Cipher on Prime Video's 'Gen V'.The crew huddles up to guess what colour Cipher's blood truly is, and whether he's fond of a certain blue injection from The Boys, before getting into the refreshing change of pace that is Sam getting some peace and resolution for once. They also rue the day Sage waltzed her way into this script, and crown Emma once again as the funniest character in the show because of course she is.At 33:46, skip to 34:34 to avoid light spoilers for Severance Season 2.Trigger Warning: This episode contains discussions of suicide, suicidal ideation, self harm and eating disorders. You can support us here.Subscribe to our Newsletter. Also available on YouTube.Host: Bankole ImoukhuedeGuests: Chiagoziem and OseghaleProduction by: Ebube Ubochi
It's the fight of the decade in the world of 'The Boys'! And frankly, we're scared in the front row.Bankole and Chiagoziem are tag teaming this fight for this week's 'Gen V' and they give each other their flowers for all the predictions they correctly made about the events of this episode, before proceeding to set them on fire as they're hit by the curve ball the story throws them about Cipher. They praise Cipher's calm intellect and discuss the show's apt naming system for goats, inadvertently cementing the status of Avatar: The Last Airbender as iconic storytelling, all while fearing for Jordan's life and wondering if there are certain angles best left unseen in the bathroom. You can support us here.Subscribe to our Newsletter. Also available on YouTubeHost: Bankole ImoukhuedeGuest: ChiagoziemProduction by: Ebube Ubochi

On this week's episode of Unclear and Present Danger, Jamelle and John watched Paul Verhoeven's 1997 science-fiction action thriller Starship Troopers, starring Casper Van Dien, Dina Meyers, Denise Richards, Jake Busey, Neil Patrick Harris, Michael Ironside and Clancy Brown. An adaptation of Robert Heinlein's 1959 novel of the same title, Verhoeven's film takes a satirical pass on the material, turning a fascistic coming-of-age tale into an unusual piece of meta-propaganda.Starship Troopers takes place in a future, fascist society, where democracy and universal suffrage have been overthrown, and a military government leads humanity, with full citizenship reserved for those who serve in the armed services. Casper Van Dien plays Johnny Rico, an eager young recruit in the Mobile Infantry, who is sent to the frontlines of a war against the Arachnids, a supposedly hostile race of alien insectoids. The film tells the story of Rico's training, his experience in battle, and his eventual rise to command. It is the kind of triumphant narrative that the fascist government of the story would want to broadcast to a skeptical citizenry, which gets to what this movie is trying to do as a film. We talk about this and more, so tune in!You can find a video version of this episode at Jamelle's YouTube page.Episodes come out roughly every two weeks, so join us then with an episode on The Jackal, a basically forgotten thriller starring Richard Gere and Bruce Willis.Over at the Patreon, we discussed The Baader-Meinhof Complex. Today we are joined by Antonio Palacios of The Cultworthy Cinema Podcast to discuss overlooked outlaws, neglected antagonists, and generally unsung villains in film. Liam and Cal sit down to review one of the most memorable episodes of Justice League Unlimited this week and while the general plot is similar, we can promise you this is not a sequel to Freaky Friday. The episode in question is "The Great Brain Robbery" which sees Lex Luthor and The Flash swamp consciousnesses as hijinks ensues. The hosts talk about the instantly memorable plot and quotable one-liners from the leads and supporting cast, the continued Mr. Terrific shine, how Michale Rosenbaum and Clancy Brown did with impersonating one another and even a nod to the classic Green Lantern yellow weakness. Plus the hosts discuss the most memorable line from the episode and why Tala seems to be so blissfully ignorant in this episode with our question of the week. Who knows how far this episode will reach with something like "FEMALE" in the title, huh? Oh, we're only joking, YOU know why. In part 2 of our "August-Where-We-Cover-Films-With-Female-in-The-Title", we're looking at Susan Streitfeld's FEMALE PERVERSIONS. A film of theatrical quality and its own distinct style, it may not appeal to everyone. It may alienate others, and generate wonderment for some. It's hard to argue that the film has something to offer within the scope of exploring woman creatives and voices in cinema. Just watch out for the one-and-only Clancy Brown shine for no more than 3 scenes and basically Philip Seymour Hoffman this!

It's gritty and tough and filled with good lookin' Hollywood actors, directed by Rick Rosenthal, with a screenplay from Richard DiLello.

This week on Kliq This, Kevin Nash and Sean Oliver find themselves smack dab in the middle of wrestling's most chaotic season — post-Mania fallout, power shifts, prime bottle proposals, and maybe even a babyface extinction event. With The Rock's latest public comments stirring speculation, Cena's heel turn drawing comparisons to the nWo era, and a few too many people tanning like it's a contact sport, Kev weighs in with zero filter and even less patience. Beyond the squared circle, the guys get real about the grind of convention weekends, the economics of fandom, and the emotional cost of being the face of a company — especially when Make-A-Wish moments collide with production schedules. Also, don't miss Nash's thoughts on the “WrestleMania Roast” transcript leak, Logan Paul's million-dollar pitch to Austin, and the dangers of letting a Gucci beanie become your entire personality. With stories from the road, jabs at posers, and reflections on legacy, this episode isn't just wrestling commentary — it's part therapy session, part roast, part wrestling gospel. And yeah… if you ever wondered what it would cost to get Kevin Nash inside a Prime bottle, you're about to find out. 00:00 KliqThisTV.com Visit www.KliqThisTV.com for bonus content, vault episodes, and more. 18:31 CarGurus ‣ #1 most visited car shopping site. Kenny and Mike review, spot faith elements, and interview Natalie Dormer who stars as pioneering pediatric oncologist Audrey Evans in the biopic film Audrey's Children. Audrey Evans became Director of the Pediatric Oncology department at the renowned Children's Hospital of Philidelphia (CHOP) in 1969, and was a trailblazer as both the first department chief and one who introduced new methods for tracking and treating pediatric cancer. As a hospital with a strong national reputation, parents brought their children from all over the region and country. Out of concern for the parents who were often forced to sleep on the floor of the Oncology ward, Audrey purchased a home that could be used to offer free housing for parents. This home and program grew into the Ronald McDonald House Charities. Clancy Brown Co-stars as Dr. C. Everett Koop who served as chief of pediatric surgery at CHOP and was responsible for recriting Dr. Evans. Koop who would later serve as U.S. Surgeon General supported Dr. Evans in the early years of her career including her development of the Evans Staging System which charted Neuroblastoma disease progression and allowed for the most effective treatments. Faith Spotted: Faith grounded Audrey and inspired her to confront successfully the challenges and roadblocks she encountered as a trailblazing female department chair with new diagnostic and treament procedures. The film speaks to the purpose and power of calling and the transformative impact it can have in the lives of others. Audrey's calling was to serve children and families in the midst the most difficult circumstances. The film lifts up the importance of children echoing the teaching of Jesus to remove any barriers to children fully living into the life of their community and deserving of the attention of God. Audrey's story reflects the call to live one's life to the fullest, utilizing the gifts and talents God has given. Life is not to be wasted.
Out on her first night on the beat, rookie NYPD cop Megan Turner (Jamie Lee Curtis) comes upon a robbery in a grocery store and takes down the perpetrator. However as soon as she takes him down, things take a strange turn as one witness flees the scene with that perp's weapon. Soon after, Megan meets a mysterious commodies trader named Eugene played by Ron Silver (Timecop, Reversal of Fortune, The West Wing) and....things get even stranger from there. :o These events kick off a slick, violent action thriller directed by Oscar-winner Kathryn Bigelow (The Hurt Locker, Point Break, Zero Dark Thirty) relatively earlier in her career. Back in the spring of 1990, this film underperformed but has since garnered a cult following....also included in the cast are Clancy Brown, Elizabeth Pena, Louise Fletcher, and Kevin Dunn.
