Three Prayer Themes: Renewal • Thirst • Strength Scripture — John 7:37–38 (NIV) Perhaps it is midday and you can feel the weight of the morning. You may have been giving to other people, solving problems, working hard or carrying responsibilities that nobody else can see. Sometimes the soul becomes thirsty long before we admit it. So pause with Jesus. In John 7, Jesus calls those who are thirsty to come to Him and drink. He speaks of living water. His invitation is not for people who have everything together. It is for those who know they need Him. Lord Jesus, we come to You now. Meet the person who feels empty. Renew the one who has become discouraged. Strengthen the one who is tired of trying to be strong. Let Your life flow into the places within us that have become dry, weary or discouraged. Teach us to receive from You rather than continually trying to give from ourselves. We pray for Australia, China and Hong Kong. Strengthen workers, families and communities carrying heavy responsibilities. We remember Ghana, Nigeria and Rwanda. Renew those who feel weary and give them perseverance for the rest of this day. Where are your fountains? Are they in material things, physical fitness, relationships, career success, reputation, family name, or personal identity? There's so much to learn from Jesus' encounter with the Samaritan woman—and even the language He used reveals the difference between what the world offers and what Christ gives. The woman spoke of water like stagnant cistern water, but Jesus spoke of living water—a bubbling, ever-refreshing spring that becomes a continual source of life and purpose for every believer (John 7:37–39). To be a channel of God's Spirit bringing Heaven to earth, we must (1) COME to God and honour Him with praise, thanksgiving and worship (Matt 6:9), then (2) RECEIVE His Spirit and words into our heart by faith (John 7:37), then (3) RELEASE His Spirit from our heart into the earth by our WORDS of faith (Matthew 6:10, 12:34-35, John 7:38). After (1) coming to God, (2) we believe we receive the promised blessing into our heart, and then (3) we release it into the earth by confessing it with our mouth unto salvation - the manifestation of the promise (Romans 10:10). After (1) submitting to God and (2) receiving His words, (3) we can speak His words from a place of authority, causing His Kingdom to come into the earth, and forcing the enemy to flee from us (James 4:7), thus bringing His will to pass.

God's life in our spirit must flow through our heart (Jn7:38). So our heart condition determines the flow of His life in us (Prov 4:23). 3 Blockages must be removed: (1) unbelief, (2) unforgiveness, and (3) CARNALITY (Heb 12:15-17) - being flesh-ruled, valuing & minding earthly things above spiritual things.
