Season 6, Episode 1 of “Kunnen we het maken?”. Welkom to the first episode of season 6. and we look back proudly at another successful season. The previous season was filled with another large variety of episodes and interesting, do make sure to check them out! For instance, the previous episode was with Ramon van der Heijden where we discussed a new method of designing. For the first episode of the new season, we delve back into the research world here at the university. At the university, a plethora of topics are researched, many of which have already been discussed in one of the previous podcasts such as episode 8 of season 5 with Marta Gil Perez. The topic that we haven't discussed enough of yet is steel structures and structural health monitoring. While the built environment is steadily moving toward more bio-based construction methods, the performance, reliability, and maintenance of steel structures remain crucial topics, especially for infrastructure like bridges, wind turbines, and rail systems. To discuss this topic we have asked an assistant professor in this field at the Eindhoven University of Technology to talk with us today, Davide Leonetti. Together, we will dive into this fascnating field of the built environment. Questions like “ What are the current developments being made regarding steel structures and SHM?” and “ How do you balance between experimental testing vs. numerical modelling for assessing fatigue and residual life of steel elements?” will be discussed as well as Davide's past and current project. You can listen to it all in this first episode of season 6 of “Kunnen we het maken?”

Our Guest today is AWFC member Chiara Carlotta Leonettihttps://www.chiaracarlottaleonetti.it/Chiara worked as a dancer in various theatrical and television productions and served as assistant choreographer for two major Italian musicals. As an actress, she has performed both on stage and in film.In parallel, she earned a degree in Clinical Psychology and is an EMDR therapist and focuses primarily on unconscious processes, integrating hypnotic and imaginative approaches into her therapeutic work. She currently runs a private practice in Milan, carries out public outreach on psychological wellbeing for actors in Italy, and provides psychological preparation for professional actors in the process of role development.Chiara had a translater , Lisa Vampa , who added to our discussion. So it's only fair that I should introduce her as well. Lisa is a Medical doctor, a specialist in Nephrology, Jungian analytical psychotherapist and healing practitioner. She has an international background that weaves together medicine, research, psychology, and performing arts. Following a six-year sabbatical dedicated to professional acting training, she began her theatre career in Milan, performing in both English and Italian. Aside from practicing psychotherapy, she also combines her expertise in medicine, psychology, and acting by teaching Medical Communication at Humanitas University and conducting workshops on “Difficult Conversations in Medicine” for healthcare professionals. What stood out for me in our conversation was the importance of educating psychotherapists and psychologists on the impact of embodying a character's psychology. It was also insightful to hear how hypnotherapy works on actors.

Navigating the Descent: John Leonetti on Protecting Wealth and Legacy in Business ExitsIn this episode of the Exit Planning Coach podcast, host John F. Dini interviews John Leonetti, founder and CEO of the International Exit Planning Association (IEPA). Leonetti shares his journey from working in his father's textile business to founding the IEPA after experiencing firsthand the lack of succession planning resources. After obtaining law and finance degrees and working in M&A and wealth management, he wrote "Exiting Your Business, Protecting Your Wealth" and established the IEPA (originally Pinnacle Equity Solutions). The IEPA distinguishes itself by focusing on practical implementation and requiring members to submit actual exit plans for certification. Leonetti emphasizes that successful exit planning isn't just about financial outcomes but about transforming entrepreneurs' lives by helping them prepare for life after business and preserve their legacy.
In December last year, the government introduced the stalking and harassment amendment bill, the first official legislation in Aotearoa to criminalise stalking. Calls for an official stalking bill became widespread in Aotearoa, following the murder of 21-year old Farzana Yaqubi, who's calls to the police leading up to her murder were effectively ignored as stalking was not yet a crime at the time. However, Carrie Leonetti - an associate professor in Law at the University of Auckland who helped create the original draft legislation, said that the new stalking and harassment bill was too weak to actually protect victims of stalking and that the number of acts that constitute as stalking in the bill didn't cover the full range of potential offenses. Oto spoke to Carrie about why the new Stalking bill was ineffective and what was needed to improve it.

New Zealand's family violence act officially took effect on the 1st of July 2019. The act reformed previous legislation released in 2018 to update the definition of family violence and include references to controlling and coercive behaviour. However, while certain coercive and controlling behaviours in abusive relationships are criminalised and covered by New Zealand law, coercive control itself is not illegal, with family courts in Aotearoa often failing to prosecute those responsible for coercion and non-physical forms of abuse in family violence situations. Oto spoke to Carrie Leonetti, associate professor in the Faculty of Law at the University of Auckland, to discuss how Family courts in Aotearoa often fail to properly address coercive and controlling behaviours.
