I finally got my approval paperwork on my Aero M5 in my state after having to register it. Since it will probably be my only AR-10 I'll ever own unless I move I'm looking for ideas on a final build for it. I'm very similar to Nick where I don't want to switch around uppers on my lower. If you guys could only build one AR-10 how would each of you do it? Caliber? Barrel length? Optic? Max range I have access to is 200 yards. I'm open to anything on my final build including switching to 6.5 Creedmoor. It's currently set up with a 18inch Aero upper in 308 with a swampfox 5-25×56 FFP Warhawk. Before Jeremey comments I know the scope is massive for that rifle and range I have. I got a crazy deal on it and couldn't say no but realized it's not ment for my setup. On this day, 31 May 1989, CLR James, Trinidadian Marxist and author of The Black Jacobins, the definitive history of the Haitian Revolution, as well as other texts on class, colonialism and cricket, died aged 88 in Brixton, London. As a young man he joined the movement against British colonialism, and later moved to England and became cricket correspondent for the Manchester Guardian, forerunner to the Guardian newspaper.He lived in the US for a time, where alongside Raya Dunayevskaya and Grace Lee Boggs (pictured L-R), he formed the influential Johnson-Forest Tendency. L'Equipe qui vibre à l'unisson du Paris Saint-Germain, évoquant « une deuxième étoile qui éclaire le destin du PSG d'une lumière aveuglante ». Raphaël Glucksmann, le leader de Place Publique, qui n'est pas encore officiellement candidat, publie un livre intitulé « Nous avons encore envie » dont l'hebdomadaire, publie des extraits, vantant « l'audacieux contrat patriotique » proposé par le futur candidat. « Glucksmann, nous dit le Nouvel Obs, veut reprendre à l'extrême droite le monopole du drapeau, de l'identité et du sentiment d'appartenance nationale ». Mais l'eurodéputé n'a pas la partie gagnée, loin de là. Le Nouvel Obs évoque « la critique lancinante du candidat parisien aveugle aux souffrances des Français ». Ce que ne manque pas de souligner les socialistes (qui ont leurs propres ambitions). Patrick Kanner, le chef des sénateurs socialistes déclare ainsi : « Raphaël est un gars honnête et sincère, mais ce n'est pas lui faire injure de dire qu'il ne connaît pas le pays ».  Déjà en campagne À droite, Le Point semble miser sur Bruno Retailleau. L'hebdomadaire conservateur a suivi le candidat Les Républicains, lors d'un déplacement à Kiev, « son premier déplacement de campagne à l'étranger ». Le Point un brin admiratif car, lorsque les sirènes d'alerte résonnent dans la capitale ukrainienne, Bruno Retailleau « ne cille pas ».   À Kiev, le candidat LR a rencontré « une demi-douzaine d'officiels », « pas vraiment du premier cercle », remarque le Point, « il est finit le temps où il était ministre ». Mais cela n'arrête pas Bruno Retailleau. « Il questionne, engrange des connaissances. Très prolixe sur le narcotrafic, les Frères musulmans et le régime algérien, raconte l'hebdomadaire avec un certain enthousiasme, il creuse désormais sa réflexion sur les sujets de défense, tente de se forger une stature internationale, celle d'un homme d'État capable de donner la réplique à Poutine, Trump ou Xi Jinping ».  Long silence « L'affaire » Patrick Bruel, chanteur et ex-idole des jeunes, accusé de viols et d'agressions sexuelles, suscite de nouveaux commentaires. « Au total, rappelle le Nouvel Obs, trente femmes l'accusent de violences sexuelles sur les trente-cinq dernières années ». Patrick Bruel, 67 ans, se dit innocent. « Que l'on s'entende, souligne Marianne, la présomption d'innocence vaut pour pour une accusation comme pour mille. En revanche, l'argument du "parole contre parole" tient difficilement lorsque le rapport est de trente contre une ». Le Nouvel Obs a interrogé l'anthropologue Mélanie Gourarier, spécialiste de l'étude des masculinités et de l'hétérosexualité. « Comment expliquer ce long silence autour de ces violences sexuelles, alors que "tout le monde savait" selon des témoins cités dans la presse ? », demande l'hebdomadaire. « D'abord parce que la parole est coûteuse pour les victimes, répond-elle. Témoigner porte un coup à leur carrière et génère souvent une rupture biographique, bouleverse toute la vie intime, explique Mélanie Gourarier qui remarque que « par ailleurs, la justice encourage ce silence. Moins de 10% des plaintes donnent lieu à une condamnation. Le message est clair : le coût de la parole est élevé et le criminel a peu de chances d'être condamné ».   L'anthropologue évoque aussi une « responsabilité collective », portée par l'entourage des auteurs de violences sexuelles. « On reproche aux victimes de ne pas avoir parlé "assez vite"», souligne-t-elle, « mais les personnes de l'entourage sont témoins, voire facilitatrices et elles ne parlent pas ». Un silence qu'il est sans doute temps de briser...

Zeitgeist #22 s Filipen Noubelem o cestách prezidentů USA a Ruska, perspektivě Tchaj-wanu, lídrech podávajících si v Pekingu dveře, traumatu Si Ťin-pchinga i obnově vztahů Česka a Číny.Donald Trump v polovině května zavítal do Pekingu, kde se mu dostalo velkolepého přijetí se všemi poctami. Ale co z jednání mezi americkým prezidentem a Si-Ťin Pchingem při pohledu z odstupu vlastně vzešlo? Jak summit hodnotili na Tchaj-wanu? A co znamená, že týden na to dorazil na obdobnou návštěvu ruský prezident Vladimir Putin? Jak se posuny na diplomatickém poli jeví nejen z Tchaj-pej ale také Kyjeva? Co čekat od nové čínské pětiletky a jak Peking přitvrzuje ve vztahu k Tibeťanům, Ujgurům a dalším etnickým skupinám v Číně? A jak přistupovat k nápravě česko-čínských vztahů? Nejen o tom mluví česko-francouzský analytik a novinář Filip Noubel z thinktanku Central Asian Policy Studies, který řadu let žil v Číně a na Tchaj-wanu; působil také ve Střední Asii a na Ukrajině a vedle mandarínské čínštiny ovládá také ruštinu.„Česká republika má na vybranou. To, že není příliš ekonomicky závislá na Číně je víceméně výhoda. Ale hodně politiků nechápe či nechce pochopit, že spousta zemí má stejně dobré vztahy s Tchaj-wanem jako s Čínskou lidovou republikou. Samozřejmě nemůžeme mít diplomatické vztahy s oběma zároveň. To nejde, ale to ani není potřeba,“ říká analytik, který věří, že dosavadní zkušenosti mluví pro pevnější vztahy s Tchaj-wanem. „Ale ještě jednou říkám, to neznamená, že nebudeme mít vztahy s Čínou, to je taky blbost. Je to obrovská zajímavá země, velmoc a zajímavá kultura. Ale musíme si ponechat své hodnoty a můžeme jednat víceméně na rovinu,“ podotýká Filip Noubel.Vláda Andreje Babiše stojí o nápravu vztahů s Čínou. Šéf české diplomacie Petr Macinka už na začátku roku oznámil záměr obnovit standardní úroveň vztahů. A čínské ministerstvo zahraničí minulý týden uvedlo, že ČLR je ochotná obnovit zdravé vztahy s ČR. Loni Peking popudila mimo jiné soukromá návštěva prezidenta Petra Pavla dalajlámy v Indii při příležitosti jeho 90. narozenin, podobně jako senátní delegace, která tibetského duchovního vůdce navštívila na konci roku a letošní prohlášení Senátu ČR v němž se zákonodárci vymezili proti nátlaku a vměšování Čínské lidové republiky do volby dalajlámy. A jak se k záměru zlepšit vztahy s Čínou staví česká hlava státu?„Především je potřeba říct, že já nevidím žádnou snahu o zhoršení vztahů s Čínou z naší strany. Ta vůle mít s Čínou dobré vztahy tady byla vždycky a nebyla ničím přerušena. To jestli Čína vnímá negativně, ať už spolupráci s Tchaj-wanem nebo například soukromou návštěvu dalajlámy, to je víceméně pro ně ke zvážení," odpověděl prezident republiky na otázku Respektu s tím, že Česko podle něj nezpochybňuje fakt, že Peking neuznává nezávislost některých autonomních území. „Z našeho pohledu nedošlo k žádnému porušení politiky jedné Číny. Česká republika ji plně respektuje na všech úrovních. A pokud jde o spolupráci s Taiwanem, tam se musíme na to podívat čistě pragmaticky. Nakonec i naše vláda zdůrazňuje pragmatický přístup k politice a naše spolupráce s Tchaj-wanem v oblasti byznysu, výzkumu, ale i kultury a vědy je rozsáhlejší než dosavadní spolupráce s Čínou. A my bychom si jako suverénní země měli vyhradit právo spolupracovat s kýmkoliv uznáme za vhodné. Nemůžeme si nechat diktovat žádnou jinou zemí, ani Čínou, s kým spolupracovat smíme a s kým ne. A pokud je Čína připravena s námi spolupracovat na bázi rovný s rovným, tak nevidím jedinou překážku,“ uvedl prezident Petr Pavel pro Respekt v rámci konference Globsec Forum.

Having purchased over 200+ handguns in the last 20 years, I'm sure I've got a few.  Best Purchases (so far) Recently purchased 3 Smith & Wesson M&Ps for a total of $600. Pictured, top left, my Smith & Wesson M&P 4.25” 9mm. Top right is my Smith & Wesson M&P 2.0 5” 9mm, in FDE. And last, but not least, a at the bottom, is my Smith & Wesson M&P 2.0 4.6” .45 ACP.   My H&K VP9, 11 mags, with a Holosun Red Dot, for $700. My Dan Wesson DWX Compact for $1,200.    Worst Purchases (so far) Anything that has Taurus in it. From a 9mm PT 24/7, a Taurus Tracker .44 mag, multiple G2Cs and G3Cs, they all malfunctioned in various ways. The Tracker went out of timing in less than one box of ammo. One G2C had a cracked slide after less than a 1k rounds. I'm glad that a lot of people like Taurus, and I'm not trying to brand shame here. I've just had very bad experiences with Taurus' products. I hope that other customers have a much better experience. My Springfield Armory Emissary 1911, 5”, 9mm. Chamber is way too tight. Also has failures to feed when the slide gets hung up during recoil. I did my classic Popovers in it and they came out great! -1 Cup Flour -1 Cup Milk -A Punch of Salt (As Lefty Said) -4 Eggs -Beat eggs first, then add ingredients. Let batter sit. Preheat oven to 450. Pour into greased popover tins. Bake for 20 min on 450. Decrease temp to 350.
