Nataša Bučar, direktorica Slovenskega filmskega centra SFC, edine filmske institucije v Evropi, ki organizira festival s pregledom domače produkcije. Trenutno imamo v produkciji in postprodukciji osem do enajst celovečernih filmov, gre za mlade ali pa že uveljavljene avtorje, eden od najzanimivejših sodelovanj je film Mila Marija, v režiji Andrine Mračnikar, prva velika slovensko avstrijska koprodukcija, zgodba o koroških Slovencih. Filmske projekte pripravljajo tudi: Janez Burger, Urša Menart, Luka Marčetič, Darko Simko in mnogi drugi. Vsak film zase je svoj prototip. S filmi se ne da delati po nekem industrijskem modelu, odvisno je od selektorjev, trenutka v zgodovini itd. A kontinuiteta bo, ker se nam obeta veliko, tudi novih izrazov, prihajajo avtorji z zanimivimi temami. Nataša Bučar Prav v letu, ko slovenski film ali posamezni ustvarjalci v svetu doživljajo številna najvišja priznanja, bosta letos med častnimi gosti festivala tudi Nicoletta Romeo, italijanska filmska kuratorka in programska direktorica Tržaškega filmskega festivala ter direktor Evropske filmske akademije (EFA) Matthijs Wouter Knol, ki bo v petek, 24.10.25. na Prvomajskem trgu v Piranu odkril obeležje Evropske filmske dediščine EFA.. Gre za prvo obeležje te vrste v Sloveniji, ki Piranski trg postavlja na zemljevid najpomembnejših filmskih lokacij v Evropi.
