Tesa Drev Juh je ob tej priložnosti posnela pogovore s tremi avtorji, ki so svoja nova dela predstavili na festivalu. Florian Pochlatko je posnel film o dekletu, ki je preobčutljivo za ta svet. Ludwig Wüst je v svojem novem filmu želel zaobjeti več tem v povezavi z večnimi vprašanji okrog ljubezni. Rebecca Hirneise pa se je v svojem dokumentarcu soočila s svojo družino in njihovim močnim verovanjem, ki se mu je vse življenje poskušala izogniti. We are not aMUSEd. Ugh, these movies. It's Beth's fault that we watched them, and we're both glad to have finally seen these films and we can have informed opinions...but unfortunately those opinions are quite negative. Etnologinja, antropologinja in soorganizatorica in selektorica Festivala slovenskega etnografskega filma Manca Filak je avtorica etnografskih in dokumentarnih filmov, ki so bili predstavljeni in nagrajeni na številnih mednarodnih filmskih festivalih, so del muzejskih razstav, raziskovalnih projektov in slovenskega Registra nesnovne kulturne dediščine. S kamero je zabeležila različne vidike vsakdanjega načina življenja ljudi v Sloveniji, kot tudi v Bosni in Hercegovini, Makedoniji in Bolgariji. Svoje dosedanje izkušnje s terena od leta 2018 nadgrajuje tudi kot mlada raziskovalka, in sicer s teoretskim poglabljanjem v razumevanje epistemoloških in metodoloških vprašanj znotraj vizualne etnografije.

The great Indian Kitchen, starring the wonderful Nimisha Sajayan and Suraj Venjaramoodu and directed by Jeo Baby, is a quiet, clear, almost documentary-like look at the erosion of a woman's life and self in her in-laws' house. Black may be the most complicated color, evoking traits from elegance and edge to sadness, anger, mourning, and destructiveness. For a color that can be so striking, it often screams "don't look too closely." Neither of us could resist choosing a black and white film, but that's where the similarities end: Satyajit Ray's Nayak (Bengali, 1966), where black is cool, distant, and protective, and Bramayuagam (Malayalam, 2024), where black is unstable and unknowable.
