Monday afternoon meant another episode of the Real Life Podcast to kick off your week and recap what's been going on over the last few days. On today's podcast, the guys finished off the Jasper Pond Hockey tournament recap they started on Saturday and broke down the Oilers' decision to sign Corey Perry to a one-year contract. Kicking off the Monday episode of Real Life, the guys jumped in with a recap of the Jasper Pond Hockey tournament that happened after the Saturday check-in episode. If you listened to that show, you knew that the rest of the day was going to turn into a hurricane, and that's exactly what happened. Joined by Gotham Sports Network founder and Giants podcaster Ethan, Mike and Dan remember Mike Comrie, who brought a lot of skill and a very famous significant other to a downtrodden Islanders club. After 30-goal seasons in Edmonton and Phoenix and a run to the Stanley Cup final with Ottawa, Comrie signed with a mercenary Islanders team looking for all the skill it could find. The forward added just that in his first season, but an injury-plagued second year spelled the end of his time on Long Island. More importantly, Comrie's fiancée at the time was Disney Channel star Hilary Duff, who brought a strange and undeserved amount of celebrity to a team and an arena devoid of glitz or glamour. Mike, Dan and Ethan talk about how odd it was seeing a super famous actress/singer/crush at random empty Islanders games and how that short episode presaged the public's current obsession with the Taylor Swift/Travis Kelce relationship. On Tuesday's episode of Spittin' Chiclets the guys first address the schedule change and why they are recording a day late and its for the obvious reason…the Super Bowl. Sports Drama - The stepfather of Argentinian soccer player Carlos Tevez has been found -- and is in "good shape" -- after he was kidnapped in Tevez's home country ... with reports saying Carlos paid a ransom to get him back. A lawyer for Carlos' family told media outlets in Argentina that the soccer player's stepfather was kidnapped early Tuesday and was held for 8 hours before he was returned. According to the BBC, Tevez's stepfather was driving his car about 19 miles outside of Buenos Aires when he was abducted by a group of men. There are reports out of Argentina that Carlos paid a ransom to get his stepfather back -- with some media outlets saying it was as low as $5k and as high as $400k -- but Carlos' lawyer has not confirmed if the reports are true. Carlos -- who plays for the Italian club team Juventus -- has been granted time off to be with his family in the wake of the incident. Arizona Cardinals linebacker John Abraham was arrested for DUI in Georgia.
