Modulations welcomes Phil Warner for this latest installment. Enjoy this lush, cerebral mix of chilled out Electro beats. Info: www.plantanddeck.co.uk https://www.instagram.com/_plant_and_deck_ https://www.facebook.com/plantanddeckleeds https://soundcloud.com/phil-warner Phil got his first pair of turntables in 2001 and has been passionately collecting records and DJing ever since. His first residency came at the age of 17 for deep house night ‘No Shanti' in York followed by a residency at ‘Howdoyoudo?' along with many guest slots around the city. During his time in Nottingham he started his own event ‘Sherbert' at the infamous ‘Moog' pub before founding ‘Subterranea' in 2013 - ten years later Phil remains resident DJ and co-promoter. In 2022 Phil joined the team at The Imaginarium and opened Plant & Deck, Leeds' only house plant and record shop. The shop specialises in house plants of all varieties and left-field leaning electronic music from ambient and electronica through house, techno, electro and breaks. Green fingers aside this allows him the opportunity to tip the city's vinyl diggers by drawing upon his extensive knowledge of, and passion for, electronic music. In over 20 years of DJing at, and throwing, parties he has warmed up and closed for countless DJs including Radioactive Man, Conforce & Versalife, Surgeon, Jamie Anderson, Trevino, Neville Watson and Alex Smoke to name just a few. Playing exclusively on vinyl, Phil is an accomplished DJ in his own right with shelves and shelves of records fit for any dancefloor. For the modulations mix series he has dug out an hour of spaced out electro wobblers, the majority of which are available at Plant & Deck. Show 3 for with Mr Joby. Detroit techno and a love of the Orbit nightclub brought Mark & Joby together in the late nineties. A pleasure toher the records that Joby has collected and has been influenced by over the years. Aphex Twin, Kraftwerk, Juan Atkins, Warp records and the like. Mark plays the usual oddities and acid tinged base of all things quality in the field. Tracks by Super Rhythm Trax, Shadow Acid, Roy of the Ravers Ceephax Acid Crew, Neville Watson, Chris Moss, Jerome Hill.
Hi friends ~ Neverwhere Radio is back this month with some dark, left-field club techno mixes from myself and one of Italy's finest vinyl selectors, the always stunning DJ Red. She is best known for her long-time residency at the legendary Goa Club in Rome, regularly hosting DJs like Ben Klock, Marcell Dettmann and Carl Craig, as well as her releases on Ellen Allien's 'Bpitch Control' and Speedy J's 'Electric Deluxe'. Her most recent production was on Wolfskull Records and featured a great remix from the minimal master himself, Ricardo Villalobos. There's some great tracks in this month's show -- you can check the listing below, I hope you enjoy it! Have fun! Soaring melodic techno from the UK acid master. "There are tracks from the ever mighty Jamal Moss, an unreleased gem from Dom Cappello. A few corkers from Ambivalent, who has had an outstanding year - easily my favourite producer of 2016, and some killer cuts from Semtek, Paul Mac, Matrixxman, Planetary Assault Systems and one of my top tunes of the year from Artefakt on Delsin." In 2008 I started a series of radio shows with fellow Freak and host, Jonny Rock. The original format was based around vinyl. Digital started to creep in, then CD's, then YouTube rips, and so on. But the idea remained the same, that we were sharing our discoveries with an audience. Fast forwarding a couple of years and expanding on the original concept, I will once again be playing dance music that you may or may not have heard, but this time said music will be readily available, if pointed in the right direction of course. The idea is for you to use me as your selector slash shop assistant in a virtual record store. Not only will I be shouting about both old and new music, but I will also be following it up with a series of compilations to be released on my label, Classic throughout the year. I will be your slightly odd, slightly off-centre, guide. But ultimately and most importantly, your friendly on-line record shop assistant. April Track Listing 01.
