I have been DJing for more than 47 years in clubs, weddings, wedding showers, parties and so on I can still remember mixing 2 records together with 2 old dual turntables and a mixer. People couldn't understand how it worked and were thrilled. About 10 years ago I had to put my radio on hold for health reasons. Today I'm running a small radio again and am currently in the process of making it a little more popular. Today I am 59 years old and am now registered with many providers e.g. Deezer, iTunes, Soundcloud, Mixcloud, Radio.net, Tunein and many more and I was also part of the Mix Mission in Sunshine Live. I am now also producing and have already released 5 singles that can be found everywhere in the well-known portals such as Beatport.com, Spotify.com and many more. And there is still the DJTOTO PLAYLIST LIVE IN THE MIX, you can find them all at Heartthis.at I would be happy if you continued to support me as you have done all these years. Your DJTOTO

There is no contemporary pop music without Nile Rodgers. Born in 1952, Rodgers grew up playing classical music on flute and clarinet before picking up jazz guitar. And at age 20, alongside bass player Bernard Edwards, Rodgers formed the band Chic. They wrote the biggest disco hits of the 70s, like: “Dance Dance Dance,” “Everybody Dance,” “Le Freak," and "Good TImes," which formed the core of Sugarhill Gang's “Rapper's Delight”. In his music career spanning six decades, Rodgers has produced and played on some of the biggest pop songs in history, for artists like Sister Sledge, Diana Ross, David Bowie, Madonna, Daft Punk, and Beyoncé. He is also the chair of the Songwriters Hall of Fame, so with the Songwriters Hall of Fame ceremony taking place this June, we invited him onto Switched on Pop to talk about the making of a great song. The last time we had them on, our fans cried for “more, more, more” of John and Nate from the wonderful Deep Purple Podcast. So in order to calm the widespread le freak of our audience, we invited them back to help us celebrate our 2 year anniversary. When the listeners said of John and Nate “we miss you”, they were serious.  So when we ask them to be our guests, we were adamant with the guys that if we can't have you, we don't want anybody else. After 2 years, nobody has told us yet that we got to give it up, so knock on wood, we'll be stayin' alive for a bit longer.  This week we check out all the hot stuff from the Billboard's Top 40 Hits from the Disco Era (Broadcast the week of July 7, 1979). This countdown is a reminder that you should be dancing. So get up and boogie and shake your body down to the ground!

In the sixteenth century, Frau Troffea stepped out of her house into the streets of Strasbourg and started dancing. She didn't stop even though her feet grew bloody and her body became physically exhausted until many days later when she was taken to the shrine of St. Vitus. While she was dancing, others joined in and at one point up to 400 people had been afflicted by the "dancing plague". In this episode, Marc and Kristina wrap up their discussion about crowd behavior by talking about the extremes. They discuss the reasons why psychologists and historians think the dancing plagues happened, what other mass hysterical events have occurred over time, and how mass hysteria may manifest today. From serving as an escape from a challenging and sometimes volatile family life as a child to helping her soothe her anxieties and ground herself as an adult, dance has become one of Jody's most important mental health tools and passions.Tune in to hear her story… and then consider putting on your favourite music and some dancing shoes!“I'm trying to be more connected and to be more open about the challenges in my life.”— Jody (Kerzner) BrunerThis‌ ‌episode discusses:‌ ‌The power of dance and movement to heal not only the body, but the mind as wellHow dance has helped Jody to navigate many of the emotional stressors in her life Additional tools that help both Jody and Bobby deal with anxiety and depression  ‌  Highlights:‌ ‌00:53  Intro 01:54  Meet Jody (Kerzner) Bruner03:36  Yearbook message05:19  Dance in school07:10  Dance as an early escape08:53  Dance & divorce10:16  Jody's other hobbies13:32  More tools15:07  Love where you live17:21  JAST20:35  Openness21:57  Being a grandmother & bobblehead24:49  Getting marriedLinks:‌ ‌ No Magic Bullethttp://nomagicbullet.org To get in contact or learn more about Living Jewishly:  Visit‌ ‌our ‌website: https://livingjewishly.org  Follow us on Instagram: @living.jewishly  Watch us on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCO2YEegjapKpQeXG6zh6tzw   or send us an email at hello@livingjewishly.org.    Shalom!

Haruki Murakami was born in Kyoto, Japan, in 1949. He grew up in Kobe and then moved to Tokyo, where he attended Waseda University. After college, Murakami opened a small jazz bar, which he and his wife ran for seven years. His first novel, Hear the Wind Sing, won the Gunzou Literature Prize for budding writers in 1979. He followed this success with two sequels, Pinball, 1973 and A Wild Sheep Chase, which all together form “The Trilogy of the Rat.”Murakami is also the author of the novels Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World; Norwegian Wood; Dance Dance Dance; South of the Border, West of the Sun; The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle; Sputnik Sweetheart; Kafka on the Shore; After Dark; 1Q84; and Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki and His Years of Pilgrimage.

CHIC was the galloping guitar of Nile Rodgers and the bubbling bass of Bernard Edwards. Their hits, including Dance Dance Dance, Everybody Dance, Le Freak, The Greatest Dancer,I Want Your Love and Good Times created a sophisticated, classy funk elevated by Rodgers' inventive arrangements. Nile talks about his life, his influences and his productions of artists such as Madonna, Cyndi Lauper, Sister Sledge, Carly Simon and Diana Ross. This week, Kevin chats to television and stage star, Jonny Labey, breakout star of such TV favourites as Eastenders, Dance Dance Dance and Celebrity X Factor, and the West-End's very Scott Hastings - leading man of Strictly Ballroom! As Kevin is due to take on the role of Scott Hastings in a soon-to-kick-off tour of Strictly Ballroom, he's invited Jonny onto the podcast today to pass on any words of wisdom and guidance in playing this electrifying part, while also sharing some of the extraordinary highlights of his fabulous career. KEY TAKEAWAYS Some roles do not feel like work. Strictly Ballroom is one of those rare productions that is as much fun to be a part of, as it is for the audience to watch. Competitive ballroom dancing, and dancing in general, is something in which Jonny has no formal experience. However, the art was important to the role of Scott Hastings, and so intensive training was required. The reason that Strictly Ballroom has endured is because of its comparative relevance to many of society's most common personalities. There are glimmers of many contemporary figures in each of the characters - some positive and some negative. This keeps the show relevant. As performers, we work hard to achieve moments of supreme glory and transcendence. This is especially keenly felt if performing live on stage. These moments of magic are fuel for further effort. BEST MOMENTS 'It fills my heart with so much love. The show was made with love' - 1:54 'It was having to re-learn everything that I'd known, and still keep that coolness' - 9:55 'The stakes are life and death to these ballroom performers' - 17:47 'I've worked my ass off my whole life to achieve something like that' - 26:17  VALUABLE RESOURCES Jonny Labey Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/jonnylabey/?hl=en Jonny Labey Twitter - https://twitter.com/jonnylabey?lang=en ABOUT THE HOST Kevin Clifton is a professional dancer who has been performing & competing at the highest level for over a decade.
