Join Lisa and Laura for our series Names of God. In biblical times, names were of great importance—they conveyed a person's essence, history, nature, or character. As we explore the various names of God in the Old Testament, we gain insight into His character. With each name, we will learn a new attribute, deepening our understanding of and growing closer to God. In today's episode, we explore our fourth name, Jehovah Nissi—the Lord, my banner. This episode is for those times when you need a victory or a win—when it feels like the battle is going on and on and all you want to do is give up. Jehovah Nissi is who we call when we're in the trenches, the mud is past our ankles, and hope is out of focus. If you could use a banner of victory waving over your current circumstances, grab your Bible and join us in the conversation. Open your Heart to our key Scripture. Exodus 17:15: And Moses built an altar and called the name of it, The Lord is my banner. Open your Bible to other Scriptures referenced in this episode. Exodus 17:8-15 Ephesians 2:10: For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. Exodus 14:14: The Lord will fight for you, and you have only be still. Hebrews 12:2: Looking on Jesus, the author and finisher of faith. (Douay-Rheims) Solomon 2:4: His banner over me was love. Invite Him in with this episode's questions for reflection. In what area of your life do you need to call on Jehovah Nissi? Is there an action or fight you are being called to step into now? Which do you struggle with more: going to prayer or taking action? If you are not looking up to God as your source of power and deliverance, to what or whom are you looking? What banner are you beneath if not the banner of love? Show mentions. Share Hope for Right Now. Deep in the heart of Israel, God desires to be known by His chosen people. Revealing Himself to Moses as Yahweh, the Great I Am, a name too holy to utter, the Israelites call Him Jehovah. Throughout the Old Testament, Jehovah responds to the faith of His people and shows Himself strong on their behalf. In remembrance of Jehovah's power and love, the people give Him additional names describing His ability and willingness to help in their lives. Each name describes the nature of the One True God! Each is Jehovah! Together, they are the J-Team!Hezekiah was twenty-five years old when he became king of Israel. He did what was pleasing in the Lord's sight. Hezekiah trusted in the Lord, the God of Israel, and remained faithful to the Lord in everything. One day, King Hezekiah received a threatening letter from the King of Syria, who had already defeated all of the nations surrounding Israel. King Hezekiah prayed and Jehovah Nissi, The Lord God Our Banner miraculously delivered Israel from an army that was much bigger and stronger than their army. You can read more about this story in 2 Kings 18:13 - 19:37.#kids, #biblestoriesforkids, #storiesforkids,#bedtimestoriesforkids, #storiesforchristiankids, #biblelessonsforkids, #bestronginthelord, #namesofgod, #jehovahnissi, #protection, #thelordwillprotect, #thelordmybanner, #thelordgodalmightymyprotector, #thelordgodalmightyourprovider, #fishbytesforkids, #fishbytes4kids, #fishbites4kids, #ronandcarriewebb, #roncarriewebbMusic by Youtube Create Studio:The Great Unknown by Audionautix is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/Majestic Hills by Kevin MacLeod is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/Images by Freepik

How does God use evil for good? Rabbi Schneider shares the covenant names of God: if we want to know God as our healer, we must walk in His ways. But don't deny that God does use sickness to accomplish His objectives. But God is not interested in keeping someone sick. God is a God that wants you healed. Consider Paul, who God used sickness to keep him from becoming puffed up in himself and to keep Paul relying on God's strength. God uses ALL things to accomplish good. God is Yahweh Nissi—God Our Victory. Learn how God lives within you, heals you, and helps you to be victorious. How you believe and speak so you will be. God is the victorious banner over you. You have been called by Jesus to victory and freedom. God loves you and wants you to enter into His victory. Visit our website at DiscoveringTheJewishJesus.com
A bad temper, a constant desire to overindulge on brownies, or a tendency to not trust God are all examples of battles we can face from time to time. This battle of the flesh will always exist, but it's God's battle not ours. In this message, Jill explains how we can know God as our Jehovah Nissi, or our banner, so that we can rely on Him to win our battles. Pastor Tony's message emphasizes the unwavering faithfulness of God and His provision in every circumstance, as seen in Abraham's obedience in Genesis 22. Through the testing of Abraham, God revealed Himself as Jehovah-Jireh, the Lord who provides, demonstrating that trust in God's promises brings blessing and multiplication. Pastor Tony highlights how God's names—Jehovah-Jireh (The Lord Will Provide), Jehovah-Tsuri (The Lord Is My Rock, Psalm 18:2), and Jehovah-Nissi (The Lord My Banner, Exodus 17:15)—reflect His nature as a provider, protector, and source of victory. Believers are called to stand firm in faith, recognizing that God's provision, strength, and deliverance are unchanging, and through obedience and trust, His blessings will impact future generations.
