Številne antične anekdote pričajo o tem, kako zelo pomembno je imeti ob sebi pravega in zanesljivega prijatelja. Ta lahko sčasoma zaradi globoke notranje vezi, podobnega značaja ali obnašanja postane celo naš drugi jaz – o tem govori naslednja zgodba iz grške zgodovine: Verjetno ni treba posebej predstavljati Aleksandra Velikega, makedonskega princa, ki se je v zgodnji mladosti odpravil na bojni pohod in zavzel velik del Male Azije. Ena izmed znamenitih bitk je potekala jeseni leta 333 pr. Kr. pri starodavnem mestu Is v južni Anatoliji – Aleksander je uspešno zasnoval svojo strategijo, premagal perzijskega kralja Dareja III. in zajel veliko sovražnikov, med njimi tudi mater in soprogo samega kralja. Obe je po zmagi zadržal v svojem šotoru kot vojni ujetnici in k njima poslal nekaj svojih spremljevalcev s sporočilom, da ju bo prišel obiskat, zato naj se ustrezno pripravita. Kmalu zatem je v njun šotor vstopil skupaj s prijateljem Hefajstionom, ki mu je bil izmed vseh prijateljev najljubši, bil pa mu je tudi zelo podoben po zunanji opravi in orožju, medtem ko je po postavi kralja celo prekašal. Kraljici sta na podlagi prvega vtisa mislili, da je on makedonski princ, zato sta mu po perzijski šegi izkazali spoštovanje. Ko je nastala neprijetna tišina in sta se ujetnici spraševali, kaj je narobe, jima je eden od ujetnikov naposled le pokazal, kdo je pravi Aleksander. Darejeva mati Sizigamba, ki je bila ogorčena zaradi storjene napake, se je vrgla Aleksandru pred noge in se prestrašena opravičevala zaradi svoje nevednosti, češ da kralja nikoli prej ni videla. V tistem jo je Aleksander dvignil kvišku in ji pomirjujoče dejal: »Nisi se zmotila, mati: tudi ta je namreč Aleksander.« S tem je Aleksander po eni strani je izkazal milost do ujetnic, ki sta po vseh pravilih takratnega bontona zagrešili hud spodrsljaj, po drugi strani pa je vpričo vseh priznal, kako drag mu je prijatelj Hefajstion in kako močna notranja vez ju druži – imel ga je za svoj drugi jaz, zato ni mogel biti zares užaljen, ko sta tujki izkazali spoštovanje napačnemu človeku.

Nema dijete koju je netko napisao da ju Maja nije probala. Ozbiljno. Margarita zna sve o vježbanju i maderoterapijama i svim mogućim kozmetičkim tretmanima. Pa opet, ne izgledamo baš kao najreprezentativniji uzorci svoje generacije.Ili možda izgledamo?Tko uopće to određuje? Čije se mišljenje 'pika'? I smatra li se pobjedom nad životom ako do kraja izgledaš preparirano i svi misle da si sestra svoje kćeri ili si pobijedio ako izgledaš kao žalosna vrba, izborana i sagnuta, ali ne poražena?I ovo sad nije kajla ni na čij račun. Ali je otvaranje duše na račun starenja. Na račun debljanja. Na račun vječnog rada na sebi, bio on u formi vježbanja ili detox sokića ili botoxa ili kirurškog noža.

Danes pa poglejmo k našim dragim prijateljem reklamarjem. Ljudje, ki teoretično in praktično posedujejo, usmerjajo in določajo vso globalno medijsko krajino, se ljudsko imenujejo reklamarji, sami sebi pa pravijo kreativni direktorji. Ker se to sliši bolj fino. Ampak saj niso edini. Kar nekaj je poklicev, ki se z imenitnimi nazivi poskušajo vzdigniti iz povprečnosti običajne službe. Kuharji se imenujejo chefi, mi navadni pisuni pa si pravimo kolumnisti. Je pa sorazmerno preprosto; če so reklamarji cvet kreative in kreativni direktorji, kaj je potem Tolstoj? Tako gre to. In kaj so reklamarji spet zakuhali? V oglasu za restavracijo hitre prehrane, ki je ne smemo omeniti – če pa bi nam plačali, bi jo pa omenjali kar naprej – so zapisali: "Nisi bil ti. Jaz sem bila kriva. Plis, pokliči me." "Vem, da sem te razočarala. A se lahko pogovoriva?" Oglas govori o novem okusu sladoleda, ki ima dodano pistacijo. Pokonci so skočili iz organizacije za zaščito žensk, češ da je oglas seksističen in kar je podobnih izrazov, ker žensko – oziroma v tem primeru samostalnik ženskega spola z obrazilom na a, ki je v bistvu orešček – ponižuje v stereotipno vlogo žrtve moške prevlade, pogosto nasilja. Kreativni direktorji se proti tem obtožbam branijo, češ da gre za kreativno oglaševanje, o tem, kdo ima prav, pa bo razsodilo reklamarsko sodišče, ali pač reklamarsko krivosodje. Odvisno s katere strani marketinga bo pihal veter. Dokler se ne izkaže marketinška pravica, pa nam – ki smo ena redkih medijskih vsebin brez neposrednega sponzorja, kar je dobro za javni servis, slabo pa za žepe avtorjev – ostaja prostor za nekaj pojasnil. Najprej o tem, kako bi se lahko reklamarji izognili vsej tej šlamastiki. Na prvem mestu si tega oglasa kreativno sploh ne bi izmislili, kot drugo pa bi dodali sladoledu še okus lešnika. Ali oreha. Ki oba spominjata na moško semenišče, in oglas bi se glasil tako: "Nisi bila ti. Jaz sem bil kriv. Plis, pokliči me." "Vem, da sem te razočaral. A se lahko pogovoriva?" Oglas je praktično enak, en a dodamo in tri izbrišemo, pa dobimo enakopravnost spolov in uravnoteženo oglaševanje. Ker če resnično in nepotvorjeno pogledamo to in jamrajočo naracijo, kako deluje v praksi … tudi moški po prepiru ali razhodu jokajoče pošiljajo sporočila, v slogu: "Plis, pokliči me, ne bom te razočaral, nikoli več."           Razmerje med temi čustvenimi izlivi je tako prek palca vsaj pol pol, če pa poslušaš balkanske popevke, ki so tako zelo priljubljene v Sloveniji, se to razmerje celo nagiba v koristi moškega cmizdrenja. Hočemo povedati naslednje; ko govorimo o čustvenih razočaranjih, razhodih, ločitvah in podobnih samomorih človeškega srca, je stereotipna vloga spolov pač fluidna. Odvisna od prizadetosti in realnih okoliščin. Da so se reklamarji odločili v oglasu uporabiti in stereotipno prikazati samo žensko prizadetost, ranljivost in šibkost, je prav tako neumno, kot gre z marketinškega stališča za izgubljeno priložnost. Z moškim oglasom bi nagovorili še vse jokajoče moške in maščevalne ženske. Naslednje, o čemer se moramo pogovoriti, pa je pistacija, ki stoji v osrčju oglasa … Jasno je, da je pistacija na pohodu, saj jo je moč najti skoraj v vsem, kar se da použiti. Cinik bi dodal, da zadnji čas, kajti proteinov smo se naužili že prek vseh meja in naj se prevlada, ko so začeli proteine dodajati še v šampone za lase, konča z vstajenjem pistacije. Pistacija v sladoledu se morebiti sliši bizarno, a pravkar beremo, da je čokolada s pistacijo, ki so jo izumili v Dubaju, povzročila akutno pomanjkanje na pistacijskem trgu in v slovenskih pregovorih pistacija pravkar zamenjuje žafran in kafro. In če smo tudi mi sodelovanje pistacije in potiskanje žensk v mizogine stereotipe znotraj reklame za sladoled, označili kot neprimerno, vendarle obstaja spolni stereotip, ki pa preizkušeno in dokazano živi. Če in ko moški lušči pistacijo med recimo nogometno tekmo lige prvakov, se do polčasa vedno prikaže ženska z nezmotljivim stavkom na ustnicah: "Po koncu boš tole posesal!"

Po več kot desetih letih, odkar smo jo prvič gostili, se v oddajo Globalna vas vrača slovenska humanitarka Jana Dular Wang'ombe. Spoznali smo jo kot ustanoviteljico izobraževalno-vzgojnega centra za otroke v Malaviju, ki po njenih besedah danes že povsem samostojno obratuje, zdaj pa podobno institucijo, za katero trenutno zbira sredstva tudi z organizacijo predavanj po Sloveniji, gradi v Keniji. Po sedmih letih bivanja v vlažnem podnebju in v tem obdobju kar 14-kratnem prebolevanju malarije, pri čemer je enkrat skoraj izgubila življenje, je namreč zapustila Malavi ter se skupaj z možem in otrokoma preselila v eno tamkajšnjih vasi na 2.000 m nadmorske višine, kjer ji komarji ne morejo več do živega. V intervjuju med drugim nazorno pripoveduje o različnih okoliščinah življenja v Afriki ter o tem, kako so jo zaznamovale v zasebnem življenju.

In the Mass of St Thomas, the liturgy reminds us that the Apostles are the foundation of the church of which Christ is the corner-stone; that is why their feasts were formerly kept like Sundays. The Gospel relates the famous scene which occurs in the Upper Room after the Lord's Resurrection. St Thomas doubted: and it was only when Jesus made him put his finger into his wounds that, passing suddenly from incredulity to ardent faith, he exclaimed: "My Lord and my God." That finger, says a Father of the Church, has become the master of the world because it showed him the reality of the flesh of Jesus Christ. Let us therefore believe in the great mystery of an incarnate Word which will soon be manifested in the world. The name of St Thomas figures in the Canon of the Mass. The elevation having been instituted as a reply to the heresy of Berengarius who denied the real presence, let us contemplate in a spirit of faith the sacred elements when they are raised and say with St Thomas: "My Lord and my God, " a practice enriched by Pius X.
