Angelo has been at Seton Hall University for over a decade and shares his experiences, as well as how he has been able to sustain a long career as a strength coach at one location, as well as progress his career via creating streams of income, becoming an author, and becoming NJ's NSCA State Director. Angelo's book Finish Strong: Resistance Training for Endurance Athletes is a book Angelo has recently written discussing training methods an endurance athlete can sustain.  He explains the difficulties of endurance athletes and the challenges they face, which was one reason why he felt it was necessary to publish the information. At the end of the episode, Angelo shares his TOP 5 Sneakers as well as his TOP 5 Hip Hop artists of all-time. He also shares an extremely interesting connection between a Hip Hop legend and being a Strength and Conditioning Coach in today's world. Michael Silbernagel is the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at the University of Mary. Coach Silbernagel overtook the Marauders Strength department in 2011 and currently oversees the training of all 17 varsity teams. Prior to his arrival at U. Mary, Coach Silbernagel spent time as an assistant coach at Colorado State University from 2005-2010 and started his career at the University of North Dakota as a graduate assistant coach. Coach Silbernagel is a Master Strength & Conditioning Coach through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association earning the highest honor in the profession in 2017. In addition to having had his research published in the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research, Silbernagel is a sought after Coach who has presented at numerous state and regional clinics. On top of his this, he is also the NSCA State Director for North Dakota. An athlete in his own right, Silbernagel is a former collegiate football player at Valley City State University and a competitive powerlifter. Ryan Mallett is Personal Trainer and Coach hailing from a small town north of Boston, MA and now living in Southern Florida.  It wasn’t until a work place accident in 2004, that he found his calling in Personal Training and began his journey into the world of fitness. Determined to educate and enlighten, Ryan quickly immersed himself into his craft. He sought out the best in the industry to learn from, and obtained his USAW Coaching Certification; NSCA-CPT as well as FMS Expert designations. TRX Sports Medicine Professional; Battling Ropes Coach and Kettlebell Coaching designations, would also become an integral part of Ryan’s “toolbox”, allowing him to better understand unique training modalities and further understanding of movement and corrective form and function.    Ryan had the distinct honor of serving on the NSCA State Advisory Board, along side some very accomplished and succesful professionals, to organize and assist in facilitaing Strength and Conditioning Clinics within the state of New Jersey. Bryan Miller is in his first year working at the United States Naval Academy as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach for Football.  Prior to Navy, Bryan served as the Director of Strength and Conditioning at Oregon State University for over 9 years and oversaw the physical preparation and sports performance for all teams and was the Head Strength Coach for Football, Volleyball and Women’s Gymnastics.  During his time at Oregon State University, Bryan was the NSCA State Director for Oregon and was a member of the Nike Sparq Performance Network from 2012-2015.  Before moving to the West Coast, Bryan worked at the University of Wisconsin as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach working with Football, Women’s Basketball, Volleyball and Men’s and Women’s Ice Hockey from 2004-2006.  Prior to Wisconsin, Bryan served as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at Northern Illinois University from 2000-2004.  During his time at Northern Illinois, Bryan worked as an intern for the Chicago Bulls during the 2001, 2002 and 2003 off seasons.  From 1999-2000 Bryan worked as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at North Park University.  Bryan started his coaching career as an intern at Northwestern University from 1998-1999.The SMARTER Team Training Audio Interview Series has been developed to share insights from some of the best in the industry. Ryan Johnson of Wayzata High school talks today in another awesome strength coach podcast. Coach Johnson is located in Plymouth, Minnesota. A Midwest strength coach on today's show and we will dive into questions about that region on strength training, strength competitions, and how to train the Minnesota hockey player. Here is a little about Coach Johnson.  Ryan Johnson, CSCS,*D, RSCC*D   Coach Johnson teaches physical education at Wayzata High School and is the Strength and Conditioning Coordinator for Wayzata Public Schools.
