Morning, all!The first year of NWA-TNA may have brought some good quality in-ring action, but watching it back in 2025, there was nothing to really draw the casual viewer in, so that they could also come to enjoy the likes of AJ Styles, Jerry Lynn & Christopher Daniels too. Then, along came the commandant of Crash TV, Vince Russo, and his company takeover storyline. Join "Big Meaty Cool" as he attempts to dissect the impact of Sports Entertainment eXtreme!Recording greatly aided by Williams Brother's Brewing, and their wonderful offerings; "Talking Head", a crisp, fruity, American Pale Ale & "Sapian", a boozy but bold Kveik Double IPA.Follow the show and join the discussion: @onemansmeatpod

Tonight along with the WWE, AEW and the rest of the professional wrestling world we mourn the sudden passing of former WWE Champion and 3rd generation superstar, Windham Rotunda, better known as Bray Wyatt. As the patriarch of the Wyatt Family, Bray would take the WWE Universe by storm when he came on the scene in 2009 alongside Eric Rowan and Luke Harper (aka Brodie Lee). Wyatt and his family would tear through superstar after superstar including an incredible story with John Cena which saw the introduction of Braun Strowman. Throughout the years Wyatt would go on to have memorable story after memorable story with the likes of Daniel Bryan, John Cena, Randy Orton, Alexa Bliss and countless others. Wyatt was able to reinvent himself a few times over the years as “The Fiend” and most recently “Uncle Howdy”. Joined by Michael Chromiak, our panel takes a look back at the life and career of one of the greatest minds of the modern era. Earlier in the week, the professional wrestling world also lost WWE Hall of Famer and hardcore icon Terry Funk. Funk passed away Wednesday at the age of 79. Funk wrestled everywhere from WWF, WCW, NWA/TNA and ECW. Funk was an innovator of the hardcore style we have come to know and love today. Whether he was wrestling as Chainsaw Charley or just as Terry Funk, his rivalries and partnerships with Mick Foley through the years are things of legend. Rounding out the show tonight, we take a trip across the pond to get ready for AEW All In. All In takes place this Sunday at Wembley Stadium in London England in front of over an estimated 80,000 +. AEW World Champion MJF puts his title on the line alongside his tag team partner Adam Cole. Billy Gunn plans to bring back a “Bad Ass” when along with The Acclaimed look to take the AEW World Trios Championships from House of Black. Will Ospreay steps inside an AEW ring once again, this time to take on Chris Jericho. FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) are set to defend their AEW World Tag Team Championships against The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson). Hikaru Shida defends her AEW Women's Championship against Toni Storm, Saraya and Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D. CM Punk defends the “Real World Championship” against Samoa Joe. Other matches include a Stadium Stampede match, the FTW Championship is on the line, the ROH World Tag Team Championships are set to be defended, and a tag team Coffin Match.
This was the worst episode of AEW Dynamite to date. And you know what? It was still *OK*. Maybe like, a four or five out of ten. Let the record show that the worst AEW Dynamite is still kilometres better than the best WCW Nitro of 1999-2000, or the best WWF Raw of 1995, or the best NWA: TNA episode of 2002, or …idk like, CTV's Farming For Love or something. But alas, something has to be on the bottom of the pile. This was the very bottom of the AEW Dynamite barrell. Join Matthew Ederer as he makes the case for this week's AEW Dynamite (#201, 08.09.2023 from Columbus, GA, USA) as the single worst AEW Dynamite episode ever.
We discuss Psychic Aliens, The Time Traveler's Edition, A BeetleBorgs Spot, The Silent Auction Results, Hot Dog 'em, and Blowing your LOD Early on episode 26 of NWA TNA, the final episode of 2002.

TNA's first anniversary show was treated like just any other show. However, we did get Sting, Jeff Jarrett, AJ Styles, and a debuting Sean Waltman in the main event...for whatever that's worth. Vince Russo's fingerprints and face was all over this one. It was ridiculous "crash TV" at its "finest" (for lack of a better term). We've got former WWE, WCW, and ECW guys here as well as young NWA talents. In the news, two legends of the business pass away, Kurt Angle returns, Rocky Johnson gets hired back into WWE and then instantly gets fired, and we talk about one of the biggest rivalries in the history of UFC. Fretz was supposed to be joined by Kyle from the Apron Bump, but internet issues persisted so Fretz hitchhikes solo to the TNA Asylum. The main event involved murder. That's right! On a major WWE pay-per-view, someone was going to die. Why? Who knows! The Undertaker was fighting for the life of Paul Bearer against the Dudley Boyz in a handicap match dubbed The Concrete Crypt match. It was never said that if the Undertaker lost, Paul would be buried in concrete. Paul Heyman simply said that if the Undertaker "didn't do the right thing," Bearer would be buried. W...T...F? Also on this card, Eddie Guerrero puts his WWE Title on the line against JBL in a Texas Bullrope match, the US Title is on the line as John Cena defends against RVD, Booker T, and Rene Dupree, Rey Mysterio faces off with Chavo Guerrero, and much more. In the news, we talk about changes to the WWE writing staff, some major shakeups to future plans for PPVs, FX interested in NWA-TNA, Jeff Hardy popping up in TNA, and much more! Kris and David are joined by Daniel Makabe (@danielmakabe) for the first half of the show to discuss the week-plus that was February 15-22, 2003.We start off talking about the sudden end of the revival of Portland Wrestling and all the controversy surrounding the short lifespan of the promotion, which that means lots of insane Oregon State Athletic Commission talk.Next, we go to the indie scene where we talk about Dan's memories of western Canadian indies, the Philadelphia promotional wars of the era featuring 3PW and XPW, Cody Rhodes's high school wrestling career, Sting's evangelical wrestling parable with Nikita Koloff and Ted DiBiase, the insanity of J.C. Bailey, Tom Howard on “Joe Millionaire,” Joan Lunden reflecting on his disastrous time at the WCW Power Plant, Curt Hennig's memorial service, and much more. Then we go international, where we talk about the K-1 scandals and how they could (but didn't really) affect PRIDE FC, the bloom wearing off the AJPW rose a year into Keiji Muto's reign, Hiroshi Tanahashi making his NJPW return after being stabbed by his ex-girlfriend, the debut of U-STYLE, and tons more.We go to NWA-TNA next for a interesting week as they debut Jonah Adelman from Tough Enough in a crazy way, plus we have updates on their status with DirecTV and more.We then close with WWE, where we have Raw and SmackDown leading into the No Way Out PPV including Eric Bischoff vs. Jim Ross headlining Raw, Nathan Jones cutting his first promo on SmackDown, Eddy and Chavo Guerrero starting their lying, cheating, and stealing, one of John Cena's early raps, and a whole lot more. It's hard to believe that this stuff is 20 years old now, but here we are. Jerry Jarrett has passed away at the age of 80 years old. Earlier today, wrestler and manager Dutch Mantell broke the news. There is no cause of death known at this time, but it is said that he was surrounded by family and friends. Jerry Jarrett served as a referee and a wrestler, was the founder of Continental Wrestling in 1977 which would eventually merge with World Class to become the USWA. He was a key figure for the World Wrestling Federation and World Championship Wrestling, and at one time, was in a backup role for Vince McMahon during the infamous Steroid trial, where Jarrett would have assumed control of the WWF should Vince have gone to prison. Jarrett would later team up with his son Jeff to create NWA:TNA in 2002, which would transition to Impact Wrestling which is still in business today long after Jarrett sold his shares to Panda Energy. We will have more on the life of Jerry Jarrett this weekend on Sunday Night's Main Event. We would like to pass our sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Jerry Jarrett.
XWF! What does the X stand for? Xtreme? Xcitement? Nobody really knows! XWF IN YOUR FACE! The XWF promotion was founded in 2001 by former WWE Superstars Greg “The Hammer” Valentine, Nasty Boy Brian Knobbs, and Jimmy Hart. The XWF was supposed to feature a mix of established veterans and up-and-coming stars. Some of the top wrestlers in the XWF included Buff Bagwell, Vampiro, The Nasty Boys, and maybe Hulk Hogan. We aren't sure if he actually signed a contract for the company or not. The XWF helped to pave the way for other wrestling promotions in the years that followed including WWA and NWA TNA Wrestling! Plus, the boys introduce a new segment with a Top 5 Draft! In episode 22, we talk about Killing Characters, The Alpacalypse, The Most Unfortunate Segment in Wrestling History, The Other Other Harris Brother, Bi-Sexual Villains, Looking At Holes, Explosions, and Sickening Hindsight.
WCW and ECW have both closed their doors leaving many talented wrestlers without a place to work. Jeff Jarrett, Jerry Jarrett & Bob Ryder were on a boat and had an idea for the creation of the NWA Total Nonstop Action. Many TV networks did not want to take a chance on pro wrestling, so the only logical thing was PPV. They would do things a bit different by offering weekly NWA TNA PPVs for $9.99. In the first ever NWA TNA PPV we get an NWA Champion crowned. There is a giant Gauntlet For The Gold match that saw Ron Killings vs Ken Shamrock facing off in a one on one match in the main event. Ken Shamrock becomes the very first NWA Champion in the Total Nonstop Action Era. They open the show with a showcase of the brand new X-Division. The Flying Elvises take on AJ Styles, Jerry Lynn, and Low Ki in a match that is still talked about to this day. Toby Keith has a musical performance that was interrupted by Jeff Jarrett which eventually leads to Toby Keith giving Double J a suplex! Also, The Johnsons make their debut!
