This weekend, class of 2023 North Carolina basketball target Zayden High will take his official visit to Chapel Hill during “Live Action with Carolina Basketball” on Friday evening and the Virginia Tech football game on Saturday afternoon. High is UNC's primary target in the class and the Tar Heels will go all out for the 6'9 player from Texas, who is spending his senior year playing for Compass Prep in Arizona. Undoubtedly, Armando Bacot and the rest of the team will roll out the red carpet to show High what life in Chapel Hill and on campus is all about. The High family will spend time with Coach Davis, who Jason Jordan says has an infectious personality and is a great recruiter. Jordan believes the Tar Heels are in great position with High and will need to do what they do and ride the wave of last year's accomplishments and this year's expectations to help land High's commitment. Wisconsin Badgers basketball recruiting talk with Jason Jordan from SI. We discuss the big Nolan Winter commitment, where his game is at and why he's such a big get for Greg Gard and the Badgers recruiting staff. We talk about his fit with Gus Yalden, and the reasons it should excite Badgers fans. Both players are guys who can shoot, pass and score in a variety of ways - that should play really well off of each other. We wrap up 2023 class, Jason loves the trio of Yalden, Winter and Blackwell; three players who are competitive and can shoot the ball. Next we discuss two 2024 Badger targets from Minnesota, Daniel Freitag and Jack Robison. We start with Freitag a top-100 basketball recruit and an explosive point guard. What does Jason love about his game and why the Badgers will need to sell him on coming to Madison. We pivot to Jack Robison a 6-6 shooter with deep range and impressive scoring ability. Also a teammate of Nolan Winter. The Gonzaga Bulldogs coaching staff made a trip out to Australia to check out Alex Toohey at the NBA Global Academy, a prospect being targeted by Randy Bennett and the Saint Mary's Gaels, among many other programs. Could Mark Few land himself his first big international recruit in the post-Tommy Lloyd era? Joining me today is Jason Jordan of Sports Illustrated to discuss Toohey's game and how they evaluate international prospects at these new academies. Jordan also discusses 2023 guard AJ Johnson and 2025 guard Jeremiah Fears, and how each are respectively similar to Jalen Suggs and Andrew Nembhard in their own way. Finally, we end the show with discussion about the NBA and NBPA potentially adding back the high school straight to the NBA pipeline, and what that means for college basketball, NIL, the G-League, and the top high school players in the country. A riveting discussion on a key topic in college hoops these days. North Carolina basketball target Boogie Fland (class of 2024) will take an official visit to Chapel Hill the weekend of September 30 to attend Live Action with Hubert Davis (UNC's new name for Late Night). Class of 2023 target Zayden High will also be in attendance. Sports Illustrated's Director of Basketball Recruiting, Jason Jordan, says that Fland is a high-level guard who has all the tools to be an elite guard, but is more concerned with winning than his own numbers. He's extremely quick and would fit perfectly into the Tar Heels' system. Hubert Davis and Jeff Lebo have been up to visit Fland in New York. Speaking of which, Fland plays for Archbishop Stepinac, which is RJ Davis' alma mater, not to mention that of AJ Griffin who played at Duke last year before heading on to the NBA. Drake Powell is Carolina's first commit in the class, and adding an elite guard of Fland's caliber would be fantastic news for Hubert Davis. Don't expect any news soon though, as Fland has stated his desire to take his time with his recruitment. It's too early for guesses as to where each guy is going to go, but Jordan explains why they would make a great fit at Gonzaga if Few and his staff can convince them to come up to Spokane. After that, Andy goes solo and discusses Kraziness in the Kennel, including date, time, and ticket information, as well as the men's basketball roster release, with some new jersey numbers and a new walk-on, guard Kellen Mitchell. This young man has a never-ending line of suitors and will have his choice of any school he desires. Sports Illustrated's Jason Jordan tells host Isaac Schade that Flowers will plan to cut his list down at some point in October, and that he feels confident UNC will be on that list. Flowers will start scheduling his official visits soon and Jordan expects North Carolina to be the recipient of one of those visits. Mark Few and the Gonzaga Bulldogs may still dominate the West Coast Conference, but coaches like Randy Bennett at Saint Mary's and Lorenzo Romar at Pepperdine are bringing in high level recruits, keeping this conference relevant in the west coast college basketball landscape. Jason Jordan of Sports Illustrated joins the show to discuss the incoming freshmen on both Saint Mary's and Pepperdine's teams, which includes an excellent addition in Aidan Mahaney for the Gaels and USC transfer Boubacar Coulibaly for the Waves. Jason looks at each of these programs and what kind of impact they will have in year one. Segment two is a longer look at what makes a head coach a good recruiter, with Jason offering his opinion on the matter as well as multiple stories involving Coach K, Levelle Morton, GG Jackson, Corey Kispert, and more! North Carolina is still looking to fill the void left behind by GG Jackson's decommittment. So far, they've only offered two additional players in the class of 2023, PFs TJ Power and Zayden High. Outside of that, Simeon Wilcher remains the lone recruit in the class of 2023. We've already discussed TJ Power on the show, and now we turn our attention to Zayden High. High just scheduled an official visit to Chapel Hill for September 30. SI's Jason Jordan says that High and Power would complement each other well and both fit on the roster. In fact, he suggests they would form a vicious pick-and-pop tandem as Power has great court vision and ball handling skills. According to Jordan, High has a great stroke from outside and would fit well in a Hubert Davis system; going so far as to suggest he has some Brady Manek-like skills. Bubu Benjamin is an intriguing prospect the Badgers are after, what does his game look like? We also do some scouting work on transfers Max Klesmit and Kamari McGee. We start with Bubu an athletic wing prospect with enough size to guard multiple positions on the court. Jason Jordan discusses what it means that Bubu made the Canadian National team and what his potential upside is. We discuss why players like Bubu sometimes don't get a lot of attention in the recruiting cycle. Next we discuss the two Badgers transfers in the off-season; the Badgers brought in SG Max Klesmit and PG Kamari McGee. Jason talks about Max as a really solid option coming in to fill the 4th or 5th option on an offense - a guy that can hit some open shots and play well within the scheme the Badgers play. Next we talk about McGee and Jason loves his game - he thinks he has a unique speed / quickness aspect that many players do not have. Jason believes Kamari has starter upside even if it won't happen with Chucky Hepburn on the roster. **replace this text with title of episode** https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCXZ-mA1cHsJMi_K0UxXeqxQ WANT MORE DAILY WISCONSIN FOOTBALL AND BASKETBALL CONTENT? Could Bronny James be a Tar Heel? | Is he considering going to college & if so, is UNC an option?

The long-held consensus is that it's not worth recruiting Bronny James (LeBron's son), for a multitude of reasons. For one thing, no one is sure if he'll actually go to college or if the James camp will have him go to G-League Ignite or just train for year. Secondly, many wonder if it's worth the circus of recruiting (and landing) Bronny given everything that would come with having LeBron's son on your roster and campus. Thirdly, there's also a question of just exactly how good he is. At this point, we're not even sure that he would be a starter at the high major level. Today's episode begins with Sports Illustrated's Jason Jordan discussing who Diallo is as a player and what makes him a desirable fit at Gonzaga, and also discussing the Pro-Am events that many high school athletes have participated in this summer. Then, a look at 247Sports' updated rankings for the class of 2023 - including Dusty Stromer, Wesley Yates, and Kaden Cooper's newest evaluations. North Carolina took a big hit when GG Jackson decommitted, reclassified, and ultimately wound up committing to South Carolina. Players of his caliber don't come along every day. Rather than bemoan the loss, Coach Hubert Davis and his staff have to find a way to bounce back. One of the ways they've done so is pursuing other power forwards in the class of 2023 including TJ Power, who, according to Sports Illustrated's Jason Jordan is a better shooter than Jackson. Power has narrowed his college candidates down to North Carolina, Duke, Boston College, Virginia, and Iowa. He currently anticipates making a decision in September, just about a month away. The Tar Heels could certainly use some help in the frontcourt for the 2023-24 class, assuming Armando Bacot doesn't return for a fifth year. This week welcome Missouri bluegrass favorites, Route 3! From Southern Missouri, award winning Bluegrass Band ROUTE 3 is comprised of veteran musicians that have performed at venues all over the mid-west as well as nation wide. With a traditional sound, many originals, and great instrumentation, they bring a hard driving bluegrass sound. Route 3 are recipients of the 2020 Arkansas Country Music Awards, Bluegrass Artist of the Year Award. Members of the group include: Jason Jordan: When nine-year-old Jason Jordan met Bill Monroe, he got to play his mandolin, and his love for bluegrass music began. Shortly after that, Jason began playing mandolin in his first band, an all-youth band called The Parking Lot Pickers. Jason subsequently was a founding member of Just In Tyme. He started writing and arranging his own songs. Shortly after he received an invitation to join Brightwater Junction as their guitar player. Jason co-wrote the song Captain that was recorded and made popular by Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver, and also wrote seven of the songs on the Route 3 debut album. Doug Clifton: At the age of 12, Doug Clifton began playing bass at his home Church, Macedonia Freewill Baptist in
the Southwest Missouri town of Purdy. Soon after, he and best friend Brandon Rickman, along with Brandon's brother Heath and dad, Gary, formed The Rickmans. In 2000, Doug was a part of New Reflections, winners of the S.P.B.G.M.A International Band contest in Nashville, Tennessee that year. Gaylon Harper: In 1986, Gaylon started learning banjo at home and attending weekend festivals with friends. It wasn't long before he was playing with a local traditional bluegrass band, Jim Orchard and The Bressler Brothers. While traveling the bluegrass circuit with them, Gaylon met the Bob Lewis Family. Gaylon came off the road and became music minister at First Baptist of Birch Tree, MO. Roy Bond: Roy attended his first bluegrass show at the age of 12 and was instantly hooked. He soon began learning to play guitar and study music. Roy has been performing on stage since he was 13. When GG Jackson de-committed from North Carolina, it left Simeon Wilcher as (currently) the lone Tar Heel commit in the class of 2023. The good news is that Wilcher is an absolute stud, and you better believe that through recruiting high school seniors or utilizing the transfer portal, Coach Hubert Davis is just getting warmed up. Sports Illustrated's Jason Jordan joins host Isaac Schade and compares Wilcher's relentless drive and determination to Joel Berry, although standing several inches taller than the UNC National Champion point guard. In 2023-24 Wilcher will join an incredibly talented backcourt, likely absent of Caleb Love, but probably with the return of senior RJ Davis and sophomore Seth Trimble. It remains to be seen how things will actually play out, but the Tar Heels should once again be loaded at the guard position. It will be interesting to see how quickly Wilcher acclimates to college, particularly given the fact that he has an older brother (CJ) already playing at the DI level (Nebraska). At Peach Jam, Wilcher was named one of 10 players on the All-Circuit 1st team. During the tournament, he averaged 17.8 points, 4.6 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 2.0 steals. CJ Fredrick is back, healthy, and playing well in practice. Fans want to see Fredrick return to the form he had during his time at Iowa. Get him the basketball and let him shoot. Jacob Toppin has also been a topic of conversation among fans. is Toppin ready to breakout for the Wildcats? Lance sets parameters on what qualifies as a successful trip for Toppin. Antonio Reeves has been drawing attention in practice as not just a scorer, but as a defender and a distributor. Lance explains the potential star Reeves could blossom into, and what parts of his game he still has to round out before realizing his potential. Lance sits down with Sports Illustrated's director of basketball recruiting Jason Jordan to talk about some of Kentucky's 2023 prospects. DJ Wagner's recruitment has been relatively quiet. Where does Kentucky stand with him? Is Louisville pushing hard? Aaron Bradshaw is still projected to commit to UK - but could four-star center Ugonna Kingsley's commitment deter Bradshaw from wanting to come play for the Wildcats? Finally, Jason shares his thoughts on Kentucky's 2023 class as a whole. Could John Calipari and Kentucky vie for the No. 1 overall class despite how well Duke is recruiting? Let's face it, the North Carolina Tar Heels family is done talking about GG Jackson, but it's healthy and helpful to understand what this situation teaches us about the new landscape of college basketball. What is the North Carolina angle in this scenario? What about GG Jackson – will he still be a top player in the class of 2022, even after his reclassification? Why does it make sense to reclassify into a likely tougher draft class? How does NIL play into everything? The biggest question is, “Where does Hubert Davis turn next in the class of 2023?” With Jackson's decommitment, Simeon Wilcher is the only recruit in the class for UNC. Episode 752 - Thanks to Our Patrons, Jason Interviews Jordan Hart Ripple Effects Fanbase Press - Ripple Effects explores life as a superhero with an invisible and incurable disease.  It's like The Incredibles meets the dramedy, In a world that is no stranger to superheroes, George Gibson is invulnerable to physical harm but fights every day to stay alive.  Suffering from an acute case of type 1 diabetes, his invincibility is offset by a defective pancreas that must be monitored and treated daily.  This incurable disease makes George's body both his greatest strength and his eternal weakness.  What sets this series apart is a positive, person-first representation about life with a chronic disease . . . which just so happens to also include superhuman abilities.  But, Ripple Effects isn't just a story about a character with an incurable disease. It's also a thrilling and relevant superhero tale that touches on the difficulty of finding a work/life balance, the class struggles and economic inequality experienced by many in our nation, and the desire to help others during trying times.Support Our Patreon to Unlock More C4FaP Bonus Content https://www.patreon.com/comicsfunprofit  Shop Kowabunga's Exclusive Variants https://shopkowabunga.com/shop/ Donations Keep Our Show Going, Please Give https://bit.ly/36s7YeL Get on the Kowabunga (Deep Discount Comics) FOC and Preorder list http://eepurl.com/dy2Z8D  Thank You Shout Out to Our Patrons: Adam P., Eric H., Jon A., Andrew C., Bradley R., Aaron M., Darrin W., Dennis C., David D., Christopher E., Martin F.
