Welcome back to Wrestling Tonight, your weekly deep dive into the stories shaping the wrestling world across WWE, AEW, NJPW, TNA, ROH, and beyond. Episode 142 may well be one of the most pivotal editions yet. We begin with WrestleMania 43, officially confirmed for Saudi Arabia in 2027. For the first time in its history, WWE's signature event will leave North America in a deal reportedly worth nine figures. Executives are calling it a milestone in global expansion, but to many fans it feels like the monetization of wrestling's most sacred tradition. We will examine what this means for WrestleMania Week, the independent promotions and fan culture it usually powers, and whether AEW is poised to step into the void that WWE has left behind. AEW is carving its own historic moment as All Out makes its debut in Toronto. A sold-out Scotiabank Arena will host one of the most ambitious cards in company history. With a special afternoon start time and a new streaming model through HBO Max, this event could be remembered as the moment AEW transformed from challenger brand to global force. Back in WWE, the long-dormant WrestlePalooza returns as a reimagined flagship event streaming on ESPN's new subscription service. With John Cena colliding with Brock Lesnar one last time, Cody Rhodes defending against Drew McIntyre, AJ Lee stepping back into the ring after more than a decade, and IYO SKY taking on Stephanie Vaquer for the vacant Women's Championship, the lineup promises spectacle. Yet the price point of $29.99 per month raises difficult questions. Can WWE justify charging fans significantly more for leaner cards and heavier advertising, or will WrestlePalooza become a case study in overreach? Meanwhile in AAA, Dominik Mysterio stunned the wrestling world by leaving Las Vegas as the new Mega Champion. It was a controversial finish, emblematic of the uneasy but fascinating partnership between WWE and AAA, and it leaves fans questioning what comes next for both promotions. We also discuss the WWE release of Andrade this weekend. What happened? The week ahead is equally loaded, with Raw, SmackDown, NXT Homecoming, Impact, and AEW September to Remmember all set to deliver matches and moments that could shift the industry once again. All of this and more on Wrestling Tonight, where the stories are not just headlines but signposts of where the business is headed. And as always, support the Tavern by joining us at patreon.com/theturnbuckletavern for exclusive content, bonus shows, and unfiltered conversation you will not find anywhere else. Good luck, and good speed.
In this episode of the First Black Champ Podcast, Camp from the Port and JR Bang deliver their predictions for Wrestlepalooza while diving into broader wrestling and combat sports topics. The hosts analyze key matches, including Cody Rhodes vs. Drew McIntyre, predicting a disqualification finish to extend the feud. They also discuss CM Punk and AJ Lee teaming up against Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch, confidently picking Punk and Lee to win. The Usos vs. Division sparks a conversation about Jey Uso's evolving character, with speculation about a tweener role emerging. The episode also highlights Terence Crawford's historic boxing victory over Canelo Alvarez, cementing his legacy as the first male boxer to become an undisputed champion in three weight classes. The hosts praise Crawford's dominance and reflect on the fight's significance. The announcement of WrestleMania 2027 in Saudi Arabia leads to a spirited debate about WWE's global expansion under TKO. The hosts address fan criticisms, including cultural differences and the event's timing, while emphasizing the importance of embracing change. Dominik Mysterio's rise as a double champion (Intercontinental and AAA Mega Champion) is celebrated, with speculation about a potential WrestleMania storyline involving Rey Mysterio. Meanwhile, R-Truth's return as “Ron Cena” is met with disappointment, as fans expected a more serious character evolution.

Welcome back to Wrestling Tonight, your weekly look at everything happening across WWE, AEW, NJPW, TNA, and beyond. This week's episode covers one of the most loaded slates of the year as the summer calendar reaches a boiling point. We begin with a full preview of AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, where the world's biggest promotions collide once again on one of wrestling's most anticipated stages. Headlining the card, AEW World Champion Hangman Page defends against MJF in a long-awaited rematch, while AEW Unified Champion Kazuchika Okada puts his title on the line against Swerve Strickland. The show also features the reunion of Adam Copeland and Christian Cage as they team for the first time in over 14 years, Toni Storm defending the AEW Women's World Championship against Athena, and Zack Sabre Jr. meeting Nigel McGuinness for the IWGP World Championship. Kyle Fletcher defends the TNT title against Hiromu Takahashi, Mercedes Moné faces Persephone, Alex Windsor, and a Stardom representative in a TBS Championship Four-Way, and a stacked lights-out steel cage match pits Will Ospreay, Kenny Omega, Kota Ibushi, Darby Allin, and Hiroshi Tanahashi in his London farewell against Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Gabe Kidd, and The Young Bucks. From there, we turn to WWE's future with NXT Heatwave. Oba Femi is set to defend the NXT Championship against either Trick Williams or Je'Von Evans, while Hank Walker and Tank Ledger put the NXT Tag Team titles on the line against DarkState. Jacy Jayne defends the TNA Knockouts World Championship in a triple threat against Masha Slamovich and Ash by Elegance, and Jordynne Grace collides with Blake Monroe. A number one contender's match for the NXT Women's Championship will also take place featuring Jaida Parker, Kelani Jordan, and Lola Vice. Over in TNA, Emergence 2025 delivered a card full of major results. Trick Williams retained the World Championship against Moose in a match that had the Baltimore crowd split but firmly cemented Williams as TNA's top babyface. The Hardys retained the World Tag Team titles against The Rascalz in one of the night's highlights, Leon Slater held onto the X-Division Championship against Cedric Alexander, and Mike Santana defeated Sami Callihan in a Baltimore Street Fight that may have marked Callihan's farewell. While technical issues marred the preshow, the main event and key title bouts gave TNA momentum heading into Bound for Glory. In Mexico, Triplemanía marked the official beginning of WWE and AAA's working relationship. Triple H, Shawn Michaels, and Nick Khan stood alongside AAA leadership to emphasize collaboration. On the card, Omos won the Copa Bardahl, El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. claimed the Latin American title, and Psycho Clown and Pagano captured the AAA Tag Team Championship. Judgment Day scored a win in trios action, Flammer retained the Reina de Reinas Championship, and in the main event, El Hijo del Vikingo retained the AAA Mega Championship in a four-way over Dominik Mysterio, Dragon Lee, and El Grande Americano, with AJ Styles making a shocking run-in to help seal the finish. The event had the production, presentation, and pacing of a WWE show, sparking debate about AAA's evolving identity under this partnership. On the business side, TKO announced that UFC will end its traditional pay-per-view model beginning in January 2026 under a $7.7 billion, seven-year deal with Paramount Plus and CBS. WWE also secured a five-year, $1.6 billion agreement with ESPN, moving Premium Live Events like WrestleMania, SummerSlam, and Royal Rumble to ESPN's new streaming service. At the same time, reports revealed WWE holds an option to purchase TNA and a right of first refusal should the company seek another buyer, further linking the two promotions' futures. Finally, NJPW's G1 Climax 35 has reached its conclusion. Konosuke Takeshita defeated EVIL in the final at Ariake Arena, fighting through an injured knee and overcoming House of Torture interference to secure his first G1 victory. Along the way, Takeshita shocked Zack Sabre Jr. in the semifinals, setting the stage for their Wrestle Kingdom clash, where he will challenge for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. With this win, Takeshita declared himself “The Alpha,” signaling his rise as NJPW's new international ace. Episode 100: What's next for Roman Reigns? We break down the latest from Monday Night Raw to bring you clarity on what's ahead for The Tribal Chief and the WWE landscape. Also, a full recap from Raw, highlighting the night's standout moments, surprising twists, and key takeaways from the show. Plus, we dive into this weekend's cross-promotional action from TripleMania, presented by WWE and AAA, and if Dominik Mysterio should have captured the Mega Championship. Finally, Cody Rhodes, John Cena and Randy Orton were among those absent from SmackDown this week, so was there really a reason to watch? Was Drew McIntyre enough? What needs to be done? All that and MORE, check it out!

Episode 421 – “Mr. SummerSlam?” takes listeners deep into Night 2 of WWE's biggest summer spectacle, breaking down every shocking moment, title change, and surprise appearance. The crew kicks off with a hard-hitting review of the Women's Intercontinental Championship No DQ match between Becky Lynch and Lyra, followed by the chaotic 6-Team TLC Tag Team Title war where the WYATT SICKS fought to defend against Andrade & Rey Fénix, DIY, Fraxiom, the Motor City Machine Guns, and The Street Profits. The Intercontinental Championship saw Dominik Mysterio put his gold on the line against AJ Styles, while the United States Championship Steel Cage clash between Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu delivered brutal, high-impact drama. The Women's World Championship Triple Threat with Naomi, Rhea Ripley, and IYO SKY kept fans guessing, before the night closed with a wild Undisputed WWE Championship Street Fight between John Cena and Cody Rhodes—plus a tease of Brock Lesnar's return… only to get Logan Paul the next day. The debate heats up over the “Mr. SummerSlam” title, as Brock Lesnar's 6-6 record (including nine main events) comes under scrutiny—highlighting his current 5-match losing streak despite iconic wins over The Rock, Cena, Punk, and others. The team also reacts to The Vision finally having an official name, speculates on Seth Rollins' next opponent (LA Knight or Roman Reigns), and previews Cody Rhodes' potential triple threat with Drew McIntyre in Paris. From deep analysis to locker room rumors, this episode blends wrestling history with current chaos, proving why #theFBCPod is your go-to for unfiltered wrestling talk.
