For Black History Month, we are going back through the archives and listening to the voices of some of the incredible Black Women who have been on the show.--The Year of Dismantling: Eliminating Systems that Marginalize & Oppress with Deidra Riggs first aired in January 2021.In December 2020, Deidra Riggs posted a video on her instagram saying we are going to start 2021 strong: "This is the year we eliminate systems, theologies, practices, and traditions in the church that marginalize and disqualify people who are different from us."It was at that moment that I knew we needed to have her on the Lady Preacher podcast. Deidra is preaching a message we all need to hear, and you can hear her passion seeping through her voice. The church, which is supposed to be a place where all become one has for far too long been a place that has left people out - that has pushed them to the margins and closed the door. It has invalidated, humiliated, and disqualified anyone who doesn't fit the norm. But, as Deidra reminds us, that's not who God calls us to be. The "church" as an institution is far different than the "Church" that Christ envisioned. This is the year, Deidra says, that we eliminate all those ways that the institution has choked out the Gospel.Join us. Then after you listen, share this episode with everyone you know because it's a message everyone needs to hear.About Deidra (she/her) Deidra Riggs is an author, speaker, and unashamed disco-lover. Ephesians, the book of the Bible is an ancient letter written by a man in jail. And chapter 4 is the turning point in his letter to the Ephesians. Paul has just finished three chapters of deep truth and in those chapters he talks over and over again about all that has been given to the follower of Jesus: “Because you follow Jesus...You have adoption, redemption, inheritance, power, life, grace, citizenship, and the love of Christ.”

(Know the word before you share the word) True, enduring unity, comes down to us- received by faith when we believe the gospel. Elevated things of the world will not foster true and lasting unity OR satisfy the hunger of your heart. The “High Priestly Prayer” of Jesus recorded in John 17 is an example of Jesus as our “advocate before the father” (1 John 2:1). The heart of Jesus' prayer is for the Church to be ONE in: The NAME of the Father, joining family with the Son (11-12); The TRUTH of the Word, protected from the enemy (14-19); Divine PURPOSE, that the world may know the love and work of God (20-23); LOVE, so God's eternal glory may be known and shown (24-26).
The Importance of Divine Unity being the foundational focus of the First of 2 Commandments we all experienced in the essence of our soul at Har Sinai Kabalat HaTorah is the key to all our Mitzvah observance and Reality of Creation. G-d's Unity Constantly Vivifies Creation and our Daily life. The Nicene Creed professes “One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church.” These are known as the four marks of the Church. On this episode, Bishop focuses on the first mark: “one. Hear more about unity, and why it's an essential part of the Church.
Lead Pastor Adam Harris speaks on the six essential qualities that we must have as members of the church to foster unity, as described in Romans 12.
Unity is essential for the church, as the body of Christ, to succeed in preaching the gospel to a lost world. The Western world is filled with fragmentation, most notably due to the Enlightenment ideal of individualism. By contrast, the church is meant to be a place where unity is encouraged and lived out, a haven where life is lived differently from the rest of the world.
* This originally aired as a video episode on Youtube HERE. The series concludes as we are challenged to examine what Paul meant when he said that "all in Messiah are to speak the same thing" and thereby "with one voice glorify Yahweh". What if we have misinterpreted what he meant? How does the Body function as disagreement comes? Is unity even attainable in our age? Let us find out!
* This originally aired as a video episode on Youtube HERE. In this part we look into what unfolded with Abram and Lot when they could not dwell together, as strife came. I present that I feel we've been guilty of being "individual living stones" (separation/isolation) or "piles of living stones" (divisions) instead of dwelling together in unity, fitly framed into a dwelling for Yahweh. So what do we do then? Let's find out.
* This originally aired as a video episode on Youtube HERE. After establishing our proper understanding of what we do as "living stones," we move into Yeshua's words as His earthly life was nearing its end. He asked Father to make us "one as He and Father are one." Then we move into Psalm 133 which tells us that unity of the Brethren is "good, agreeable and beautiful." Are we in the Church experiencing this today as We should be?
* This originally aired as a video episode on Youtube HERE. Part 1 starts with establishing a biblical understanding of "one." We'll examine the proper understanding of "living stones" that Peter mentions in 1 Peter chapter 2. What does it mean to be "built together into a spiritual house"? Let's get started!

Unity Through Humility
We live in polarizing times. How do we as a church respond to division? We believe this message will encourage and equip you to live will during this season.
We begin a new series on what it means to be ONE body with people who aren't like us.
Over the next three weeks, we will see that God has designed his church to grow up into full maturity in the faith by means of graciously working together as a unified and Spirit-empowered community. While this certainly sounds like a beautiful picture (and it is!), it doesn’t take long to realize that for a group of diverse and sin-prone people, this is no easy task. Although we have already been given a new identity in our salvation and stand completely forgiven in Christ, we now must learn to live out our new identity by walking in a manner worthy of the calling we have received (4:1). The first steps along the path of this new life in Christ are comprised of a charge for us to cultivate the kinds attitudes and actions which promote the unity of the church. These heart and life postures include such things as humility, gentleness, patience, and bearing with one another in love. These Christ-like characteristics are the threads that, when woven together, create a bond which is not easily broken. As our Savior has humbly, gently, and patiently loved us, so also let us learn to love one another in like manner.

In 50 AD in a city full of the temptations, Paul made tents and planted one of the most impacting churches the world had seen. Years later he sits with his scribe Sothenes to remind the church at Corinth of the power of the cross and to realign them to Christ and to each other. This letter, written in love, inspires us to live in unity together and keep Christ at the centre of His church.

One Unity main theme is the concept of "the Christ"and how this "Christ," or Spirit of the Divine, is within each and every one of us. Today's lesson is one of Charles Fillmore's Sunday morning lessons on this very topic. It is appropriately entitled "The Christ Within" and was his Sunday lesson on September 28, 1924.
