Today, Gallup reports that only 21% of American workers strongly agree that they trust their organization's leaders, down from 24% in 2019.    These figures reflect the shift in workplace dynamics from the onset of the pandemic to the present day, indicating that new ways of working—and their associated challenges—have contributed to growing feelings of distrust. So, how can leaders work to regain the confidence of their workforce?   Roy Reid is a prominent authority in public relations, business communications, and marketing with extensive experience in the healthcare sector. He advises business leaders and organizations as a counselor, strategist, and coach to grow, maintain, and protect their interests. Trust Across America, Trust Around the World has recognized him as one of the top 100 thought leaders influencing trust in business behavior.   Roy is a Senior Fellow with The Stockworth Institute and the Founder of Walk With You, his coaching and executive communications consultancy. He has collaborated with Fortune 500 companies, healthcare organizations, entrepreneurs, professional service firms, and public agencies. His notable clients include leading brands such as AdventHealth, Walmart, Walt Disney Resorts, Fifth Third Bank, CSX Transportation, Tavistock Group, Lake Nona, Duke Energy, and Burger King.   Roy is also a sought-after speaker and co-author of "The Trust Transformation," a program that offers a framework for enhancing results by fostering better relationships through a focused approach to earning, cultivating, and restoring trust.   He holds a degree in Business Administration with a minor in Communications from the University of Central Florida, where he served as student body president. In 2007, he was named Alumni of the Year by the College of Business, and in 2010, he was inducted into the Nicholson School of Communications Hall of Fame.   Roy is a Master Certified Professional Coach (MCPC) and is Accredited in Public Relations (APR). About Roy Reid In 2019, my life was interrupted and immeasurably altered when I suffered an acute aortic dissection. This is a condition the heart splits open along the aorta and it has a 2-5% survival rate. Miraculously, a word that defines this journey, I made it to a hospital and was airlifted to the right facility where a team worked for six hours to replace the entire upper arch of my aorta. My heart is now 25-30% synthetic material. The damage was so severe that I was placed in a coma and the prevailing idea was that there was no prognosis for a positive outcome. https://www.roywreid.com/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/royreid/ --------------------------------- About Samuel Sternberg Started a clothing brand in High School. Welcome to episode #042 of The Crisis Intelligence Podcast, with Melissa Agnes and Roy Reid. Proactively building trust with your stakeholders is a profound crisis preparedness strategy (amongst other things). But in order to build outrageous trust, you need to begin by working from the inside out. An organization that focuses on building a corporate culture of trust with both their internal and external stakeholders will find that a) they minimize risk on a regular basis, in everything they do; and b) they have a powerful advantage in a crisis – the trust of their stakeholders, the benefit of the doubt. So what does having a culture of “outrageous” trust really mean and how do you go about cultivating this? In this episode of The Crisis Intelligence Podcast, I sit down with Roy Reid to discuss the exact answers to these questions in full detail. Roy and I touch on so many levels of trust and provide actionable tips to help you build a high-trust culture within your organization. No matter what stage of cultivating outrageous trust you may be at right now, there are a ton of tangible takeaways in this episode for you to either begin or continue down the road of building outrageous trust.
