"Publishers need to think like scrappy consumer brands—focus on creating content that excites and engages your audience, whether it's through thematic newsletters, short-form videos, or leveraging user-generated content. The key is to work smarter, not harder. Repurpose assets, test new channels like TikTok, and build authentic relationships by putting a human face to your brand. If you prioritize driving value for your audience, the traffic, engagement, and revenue will follow. - Greg Rollett, Head of Growth at The Grommet Welcome to Revenue Boost: A Marketing Podcast, the most valuable podcast for business leaders who need a boost in revenue and business growth. I'm your host, Kerry Curran. With over 20 years of marketing agency experience driving client business growth I now run RBMA: Revenue Based Marketing Advisors where we help businesses like yours effectively scale revenue growth. Visit RevenueBasedMarketing.com or connect with me on LinkedIn! In this episode, titled ""Think Like a Brand: Strategies for Publisher Growth and Engagement"", I sat down with Greg Rollett, Head of Growth at The Grommet to unpack transformative ideas for publishers and marketers alike. With recent changes to the google algorithm, publisher and commerce content websites need to work even harder to drive traffic volume and audience engagement. To be successful, they need to pivot their strategies and think more like the brands that they partner with and less like an old publisher. Greg and I discuss the successful and innovative and engaging strategies he has spearheaded in his time at The Grommet. From turning email lists into powerful media assets to adopting a scrappy, brand-first mindset, this conversation is packed with actionable insights. Whether you're navigating the challenges of organic traffic, exploring the world of commerce content, or working towards strengthening authentic connections with your audience, this episode delivers a roadmap to success. Don't miss these proven strategies for growth and engagement in today's ever-changing digital landscape. "To learn more about Kerry Curran and the RBMA: Revenue Based Marketing Advisors, go to www.revenuebasedmarketing.com and be sure to follow us on Kerry's LinkedIn Profile and The RBMA: Revenue Based Marketing Advisors Profile.   If you're in the market for a Fractional Chief Marketing Officer or Fractional Chief Revenue Officer be sure to reach out to Kerry. For services and contact information check out the RBMA: Revenue Based Marketing Advisors website here.  B2B business development has become increasingly complex, with companies finding it harder than ever to drive growth. One of the biggest challenges?   Many organizations have shifted their investments down the funnel—hiring more sales and BDR resources—while pulling back on marketing. Yet, buyer behavior has evolved in the opposite direction.   Today, buyers are forming their shortlists and making decisions before ever speaking to a sales rep. This means if your brand isn't investing in marketing, you're not even making it into their consideration set. To grow revenue, companies must excel across four critical stages: ✅Awareness: They must have heard of you ✅Affinity: They must like you and believe you can solve their challenges ✅In-Market: They must be ready to buy   ✅Engagement: Then they talk to your sales team, who still needs to beat the competition and win the deal   At RBMA: Revenue Based Marketing Advisors, we help businesses scale growth effectively and efficiently. We build and optimize your end-to-end marketing and sales infrastructure—from brand development to sales training—delivering: - Increased high-quality lead volume - Shortened sales cycles - Improved close rates I'm Kerry Curran, Founder and Chief Growth Officer of RBMA. With 20 years of experience in marketing and business development, I've consistently driven double- and triple-digit revenue growth. My unique expertise bridges both disciplines: as a CMO who understands sales and a CRO who understands marketing.   I specialize in helping B2B scale-ups and mid-market agencies, tech, and services transform their growth strategies. Let's set up a call to identify areas of opportunity in your growth infrastructure and get your business on the path to increased revenue in 2025.

This way you can concentrate solely on the business development and creative stops.   (6:26) Greg Rollett The moment you post things online, you need to remember that you are your own media brand. People will see what you do, and get to know about you or your business. Therefore, the fundamental principle that everyone needs to get is that you are a media brand. On today's episode, we have a compilation of previous episodes with Kevin Harrington, Greg Rollett, Mitch MIller, Jack Davis, Nicholas Kusmich, Pat Flynn and Warren Phillips and in this episode you will hear tips and tricks from top entrepreneurs about the guide to success.   (2:18) Kevin Harrington You don't have to always hire and employ experts in your company. You rent them as well, especially if finance was an issue. You can also partner up with many different companies, get them to invest in your company. You need to own that and you need to be constant and consistent.   (11:24) Mitch Miller Having a consistent life cycle that is disciplined is way better than trying to do many things daily but failing to commit. If you go to the gym, showing up at the gym everyday is more important than the workout plan you are trying to come up with daily. That is why having a healthy, habitual and disciplined life is your best method for success.   (15:33) Jack Davis Having the right team is the most important and crucial thing in an entrepreneurial environment. As an entrepreneur, you need to understand that you cannot do everything on your own. You will need experts who will help you. You need to let go of any ego that you may have and create a team that will really boost the business.     (18:53) Nicholas Kusmich The biggest challenge for every business person is going to be the initial stages. You will face a lot of issues regarding building your team up, building your career, taking care of your taxes, maintaining a proper clientele. All of these will be very difficult at the beginning but if you persevere, success will be waiting for you around the corner.   (23:00) Pat Flynn Be careful with how much you price your products or how much you charge for your services. When you first started you may think that cheaper is better but many people will overlook your product just because of how cheap it is. Cheaper is not always better. Make sure you price yourself appropriately.   (29:31) Warren Phillips Make sure you believe in yourself and your team. Insecurities can really ruin a lot of things in your business. You need to wire yourself differently. You need to remember you are there to create something. To be someone. Your mindset needs to be strong. You need to be the source of power for your team. Remove all insecurities you have and just concentrate on your journey.   Links: @realkevinharrington  @gregrollett  @themitchellmiller  @nicholaskusmich  @patflynn  @nontoxicdad

Greg Rollett is an Emmy award-winning producer, best-selling author, and founder of Ambitious.com where he offers an entire suite of products for entrepreneurs who want to be their best. I am a client of his, so I know first-hand how great he is at driving others to succeed. So many first-time authors get excited about their book launch, selling millions of copies and going to signings at big stores, and then feel let down when they realize that's not what happens. The best thing to do when writing a book is ask yourself why you're writing it. Using your book as a tool to grow your business often winds up making you way more money than if you were to only depend on royalties for profit.Greg wrote his book after doing a bit of a reverse engineering process, realizing his main goal was to get clients to sign up for his done-for-you services. He created several products to educate potential clients while still offering massive value, which then would ultimately funnel his dream clients into his highest ticket offering. When writing a book, it always helps to start with the end in mind. Then, create an offer that is the next logical step for someone after they've finished reading your book. Some “low hanging fruit” products that are easy to create are digital or audio versions of your book, companion worksheets or a workbook, or an online course. The sky is the limit here and a little bit of creativity and imagination goes a long way. Taking care of your customers with personal touches will help you create genuine relationships and raving fans. Greg adds a personal note to an order before it gets shipped out and he also has a text line where customers can ask him questions. Always think of new ways to add value to your audience as you never know when someone will decide to buy from you. People who buy books are great people because they're seeking out information on how they can improve their lives and want their futures to be better. How you treat people makes all the difference. Treating your audience well from the start sets you up for long-term success with whatever you decide to offer them next. What's Inside:Why you should start with the end goal in mind when writing your book. How to structure your offerings to offset advertising costs. How taking care of your customers can create lifelong fans.Mentioned In This Episode:Ray.fmAmbitious.com

Bill Glazer, who founded GKIC along with legendary marketer Dan Kennedy joins us on the show today, along with Rob Cuesta, CEO, and Founder of Bright Flame Books. Together they have founded The Outrageous Marketers Alliance.  They dive into how to be outrageous in your marketing and break it down into the eight steps to help you stand out from the rest, re-train your brain to look for different methods, and give lots of examples of folks doing just that from their marketing mastermind. Ryan is a big advocate of healthy living, especially after living through a big health scare in his own life. Ryan is the father of 4 kids and someone that lives every day to make the world a better place for his family. In today's episode Greg, Matt and Ryan cover the current state of affairs, how to find passion in what you do and not just building a business because some niche-maker 3000 software told you to, why your kids need to drink more water, what Ryan thinks about college as his oldest gets ready for that transition and why Rewind is helping families and dads to rewind the clock and feel young again. And to take it up another notch, Ryan is giving any listener of the show 20% off any purchase at https://rewindbars.com/ when you use the promo code DADCHAT at checkout. Yes, 20% off, just for listening to the show. I recommend the Green Juice or the Coffee Cinnamon Cake Bars. Go to https://rewindbars.com/ to place your order today.
