Irina Voronina Gets Real About Russia, Hollywood, The Playboy Murders & Comedy This week on Drinking During Business Hours, Sarah Halstead and Richard Chassler sit down with Irina Voronina for a funny, candid, and surprisingly emotional conversation about her journey from Russia to Milan to Los Angeles, her rise as a Playboy Playmate and working actress, and how stand-up comedy became the next chapter of her life. Along the way, Irina opens up about growing up in Soviet Russia, leaving home at 19, adapting to America, and finding her own authentic voice in comedy instead of becoming a stereotype. The episode also gets into the realities of show business, aging in Hollywood, getting typecast, the transition from modeling to comedy, producing shows at Bar Lubitsch, working at Comedy Chateau, and Irina's appearance in The Playboy Murders. Sarah, Rich, and Irina keep it loose and hilarious throughout with a full non-alcoholic beer tasting featuring Beck's Non-Alcoholic, Heineken 0.0, and O'Doul's, making this one equal parts heartfelt, insightful, and absurdly fun.

Planes, Drugs and the JFK Assasination with Tosh Plumlee and Bill Conroy. In this episode, Kris Millegan and Todd Baumann speak with Robert Tosh Plumlee and Bill Conroy, about their books, Deep Cover, Shallow Graves (Tosh Plumlee) and The Great Pretense (Bill Conroy) and the information surrounding Planes, Drugs, and the JFK Assassination. Bill Conroy's 40-year journalism career has focused heavily on investigative reporting — as an editor-in-chief, managing editor and reporter. His work has been published online and in print for a range of publications, including daily newspapers; alternative and business weeklies; magazines; and national online publications, such as the Daily Beast, Narco News and Housing Wire. He also have appeared in investigative documentaries aired by major networks, including the BBC, CNBC, the History Channel, Prime Video and Al Jazeera-Europe. Robert "Tosh" Plumlee, a former contract operative for the CIA, and Ralph Pezzullo, a New York Times bestselling author, guide us on an incredible journey through a no-man's land of political intrigue and covert CIA and Pentagon military operations sanctioned by the White House. Plumlee was born in 1937. At 14, he joined the Texas 49th Armored Division at Dallas's Love Field Airport, despite being underage. Later, in 1954, he transferred to the regular army and was attached to the 4th Army at Fort Bliss, Texas. Eventually, he was reassigned to the 4th Army Reserve a specialized Military Intelligence Unit at Dallas Love Field. He obtained his pilot's license in 1956 and soon after began working as a pilot for clandestine CIA aviation companies, which were CIA front companies transporting arms to Cuba before Castro took power. 1956-63. Miami Florida From approximately 1962 to 1963, he was assigned to a specialized Task Force, TF-W Section—C-7 tab B and D, known as the Cuban Project, which operated from the JM/WAVE station in Miami, Florida's Cuba Desk of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). The Cuban Project. Some years later, after a brief retirement from military life (1963 to 1974), in 1983, he was reactivated. He became an undercover operative and contract pilot for the federal government during President Reagan's Drug War. He was assigned to a secret team known as the 'America-Mexico Special Operations Group' (“AMSOG”), headquartered at the Panama Southern Command as a pilot, where he became associated with the Contra Resupply Network. Mr. Plumlee has testified in closed-door sessions to various Senate and Congressional Subcommittees. In 1964, shortly after President Kennedy's assassination, he gave testimony to the Director of the FBI, J. Edgar Hoover; in 1975-76, he also testified in a closed-door session to Senator Church, classified Top Secret; and he gave testimony in 1978 to Congressmen Tom Downing's investigators before the HSCA was formed. In 1990-91, he gave sworn testimony to Senator John Kerry's Committee and twice to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee; and the Senate Intelligence Committee, August 2, 1991, and May 7-15, 1992. His testimony to these committees was also classified Top Secret Committee Sensitive. Mr. Plumlee worked undercover operations for the Arizona Tri-State Task Force and later testified to the Drug Task Force committee in New Mexico, chaired by Arizona Governor Bruce Babbitt.

Robert "Tosh" Plumlee and bestselling author Ralph Pezzullo join me to discuss Deep Cover, Shallow Graves and the extraordinary story behind the book.Tosh shares his experiences as a contract pilot involved in covert operations during the Cold War, his account of the events surrounding President Kennedy's assassination, Cuba, Iran-Contra, and the compartmentalized world of intelligence operations.Ralph discusses the years of research that went into documenting Tosh's life and why he believes these stories deserve to be preserved. We also talk about the personal cost of living a life of secrecy, the challenges of verifying historical events, and why debates surrounding these topics continue more than sixty years later. An unexpected twist happened during the final ten minutes of our conversation when I suddenly lost power here in Hawaii. While I was offline, Tosh and Ralph continued talking on camera. After I rejoined the interview, Ralph mentioned that Tosh had received a text message that read, "Tosh, you better shut up," and Tosh even tried showed it to me. At the time, I thought they were joking. It wasn't until I reviewed the interview during editing that I realized they had discussed the text while I was offline. We ended the interview laughing that maybe it was "just one more conspiracy."BUY A COFFEE LINK Support the Show & Stay Connected:Buy Me a Coffee: https://buymeacoffee.com/sensiblehippieJoin My Patreon for ad-free episodes & exclusive content: https://Patreon.com/WakeupwithMiya If you're joining Waiola – The Plus Side, please subscribe through a web browser (Safari or Chrome) instead of the Patreon app — it directly supports the show. Following on from last weeks shock ending we find out what has happened to Owen. Martha is still around, Mark is harsh on Gwen, Tosh and Owen go back full circle and Jack has made choices.
Send us Fan MailI am your host, Neo Griot.Welcome to Episode 293 of Rational Black Thought, the podcast where we examine politics, religion and culture from a Black, progressive, skeptical and unapologetically rational point of view. This week's title comes from Peter Tosh's song "Equal Rights": "Everyone is crying out for peace, yes / None is crying out for justice."Tosh was pointing to a distinction that governments, political parties, police departments, churches and every other institution with power desperately want us to ignore. Peace and justice are not the same thing. Peace may simply mean that the streets are quiet, the demonstrations have ended, the dead have been buried and the institution responsible for the harm has returned to business as usual. Peace may mean Black voters continue supporting a political party without making demands forceful enough to disrupt its priorities. Peace may mean church members keep giving while refusing to ask where the money goes. Peace may mean a suffering man stops asking God why his children are dead and accepts that divine authority is beyond examination.Institutions prefer peace because peace often requires nothing from them beyond waiting for public anger to exhaust itself. Justice is more disruptive because it requires evidence, explanation, restitution and accountability. Justice asks who held the power, who made the decision, who carried out the harm and who benefited when the people who were injured were finally persuaded to become quiet. When those questions are raised, institutions suddenly become philosophical. We are told that the situation is complicated, that we do not have all the facts, that leadership requires difficult choices, that we should trust the process or that God works in mysterious ways. Every institution seems to discover complexity at the precise moment accountability arrives. But power does not become moral merely because it is powerful. Authority does not become legitimate merely because it is traditional, and silence should never be mistaken for justice. The central question this week is therefore simple: when institutions cause harm, permit harm or benefit from harm, who has the right to demand an explanation? The answer is everybody.Intro:Quote of the Week: James Baldwin Unmasking the News: Democracy Watch: Lying or Delusional, Either Way He Is Dangerous First to Vote, Last to Collect In God We Trust, but Check the Bank Records Good News: Building the Children Who Will Build the Future Bible Study with an Atheist: The Book of Job: When God Moved Against an Innocent Man Reflections and Call to Action:Closing/Outro: Power Concedes Nothing without a Demand...

In this fascinating episode of The Tudor Dixon Podcast, Tudor sits down with Robert "Tosh" Plumlee, a former CIA contract pilot and author of Deep Cover, Shallow Graves, to discuss one of America's most enduring mysteries: the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. With the recent release of additional JFK files reigniting public interest, Plumlee shares his firsthand account of events surrounding November 22, 1963, including his claims of involvement in intelligence operations during the Cold War, his alleged encounters with Lee Harvey Oswald before the assassination, and his perspective on what may have happened in Dallas. Tudor and Plumlee examine newly released documents, Cold War intelligence activities, the role of covert operations, and the questions that continue to fuel debate more than six decades after Kennedy's death. They also discuss Oswald's background, Cuba, Vietnam, and why many Americans remain skeptical that the full story has ever been told. Whether you're a longtime student of the JFK assassination or following the latest document releases, this conversation explores the claims, controversies, and unanswered questions that continue to captivate historians and conspiracy researchers alike.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

In this wild late-night episode, host Walter Sterling sits down with ex-CIA operative Tosh Plumlee to dive deep into the mind-bending government program known as "Illusionary Warfare". Plumlee claims that MK Ultra spin-offs are still active today, creating subliminally controlled "lone wolf" assassins by completely controlling the media narrative and creating false realities. From allegations of an ongoing, silent political coup that started with JFK's assassination, to Plumlee's blunt rant about a "crime syndicate" currently destroying the United States, this interview goes completely off the rails. Plus, hear about Plumlee's new book, Deep Cover, Shallow Graves, and why Walter desperately wants to know the red flags for taking a mind-controlled robot home from the bar! Comedy Central once defined what mainstream comedy looked like.In this episode of Why Are You Laughing?, we break down the rise and fall of Comedy Central — how the network became the center of stand-up comedy, political satire, and boundary-pushing television, and why that dominance slowly unraveled. From Chappelle's Show and South Park to The Daily Show, we examine the shows that made Comedy Central essential viewing and the cultural moment that allowed them to thrive. We also look at Comedy Central's stand-up and roast catalogs, how the network shaped comedy careers, and why its influence over stand-up, political comedy, and pop culture began to fade as media habits changed. This episode isn't just about a network declining — it's about how comedy itself moved on.TIMESTAMPS3:39 Origin of Comedy Central5:51 Bill Maher & Politically Incorrect12:06 South Park from Trey Parker and Matt Stone19:29 The Daily Show with Jon Stewart31:46 Comedy Central Presents & their stand-up comedy cataloged40:27 Dave Chappelle & Chappelle's Show49:09 Comedy Central Roasts56:23 Tosh.0 + The Downfall1:00:55 Tough Crowd w/ Colin Quinn1:05:29 Norm MacDonaldFOR ALL THINGS BLIND MIKEhttp://blindmike.netFOR ALL THINGS CRAIGGERShttp://www.verygoodshow.orgFOR ALL THINGS HACKRIDEhttp://hackridethedemon.comFOR ALL THINGS DJ ELECTRA FRYhttp://djelectrafry.com
