Their bank account was frozen though and nobody spoke English! LOL We need me as president -- award-winning multimedia journalist, Oxford, Berkeley, Taipei Medical University scholar, life-long educator, researcher in #publichealth, #Ethnobotany, women's political participation, international relations, game theory, speak several languages and traveled the world. So glad I traveled the world in my youth, as it is a movable feast during the Great American lockdown. #BenjaminFranklin always wanted to explore China but he was too old! When I'm president, we bring back the fairness doctrine, so media workers have to adhere to some standard of Truth! I'm the only presidential candidate to call for Fox employees to be charged as co-conspirators in the January 6th insurrection, just sayin'. I'm also the only presidential candidate who called for #RupertMurdoch to be banned from US airwaves for his role in the #Jan6 #insurrection. They were only held civilly, not criminally liable for conspiring to overthrow the government. Remember all the lies #Fox told about #Dominion and the 2020 elections being stolen? yeah, remember that case where they had to fork over almost a billion dollars for defaming Dominion voting machines? They were all in on it. Therefore, Fox executives are unindicted domestic terrorists. Just sayin'! You want a president who will tell you the truth, don't you? Oh yeah 30% of you f* believe a word that idjit says after he told you 50,000 lies!!! So maybe you want a conman and a douchebag to be president, again! Actually 70% of you don't! And that 70% of you need to all vote this time! In fact as president, I will implement more incentives for people to vote. I'm in favor of calling it a national holiday, voting day paid work day, a paid holiday for everyone. And let's arrange for little care packages of cool stuff when you vote! It worked in student government — people like getting a little box of goodies! Fox should have been fined out of business by the FCC, why didn't that happen???? Then there's the other case Fox is getting nailed with too. So they just fired #FuckerCarlson as I call him; I guess cuz he brought the most heat on Fox, but otherwise they-- Fox executives and management -- have escaped accountability for their criminal conduct. So have all the insurrectionist republicans in Congress. I remind everyone: I'm the only presidential candidate who has been calling for over 160 insurrectionist Republicans to be removed and prosecuted, since Jan 7th, 2021, in fact! Grandpa Brandon has been totally silent on this very critical issue affecting our Democratic way of life! He doesn't want to appear too political! Imagine that, the head of the political party refuses to be political!

Ok well at least it wasn't a sequel to Bright. Netflix has claimed some extraordinary viewing numbers over the Xmas season, with 45 million of you streaming Sandra Bullock vehicle Bird Box. Also social media went wild for Charlie Brooker's latest nihilist futurist vision Black Mirror: Bandersnatch (well 1980's futurism - look it makes sense when you watch). Stevie and Emmet review the two offerings from the streaming service and question just how engaging a Netflix view is against a trip to the cinema - which has a dollar value attached.

Despite the thunder-thieving controversy at the Oscars, Moonlight is a tremendous motion picture. Our 66th edition of the Next 100 Project tackles that Oscar screw-up, of course, but we dig deep into all areas of this indie hit. Barry Jenkins’ direction, the subtle script and the entire cast (especially Mahershala Ali, Naomie Harris and Trevante Rhodes) are marvelous pluses in this quiet flick that tackles plenty of tough issues. Drink up some Sparkplug Coffee as you digest our discussion.
I recently sat down for a conversation with writer/director Barry Jenkins to talk about his extraordinary new film Moonlight. The film tells the story of a largely under-represented section of society - queer African-American males. In this interview, we discuss the film, what it means to be an active ally, his cinematic influences, and his incredible ensemble cast. READ: Review: 'Moonlight' (★★★★) Moonlight played the Telluride, Toronto, New York, BFI London and Mill Valley Film Festivals this fall, earning an Audience Award from MVFF this week. It currently sits at 97 on Metacritic and 98% on Rotten Tomatoes. The film stars Mahershala Ali, Naomie Harris, Andre Holland, Trevante Rhodes, Ashton Sanders and Alex Hibbert and was based on a story by Tarell McCraney. A24 will open Moonlight in New York and Los Angeles this Friday, October 21st, and then expands in the coming weeks. Check out where the Gold Rush Gang thinks Moonlight is in the Oscar race right here.
