Hey guys! I need to share with you something important and very sudden that I didn’t have planned before we get into today’s episode. You will understand this more as you listen to this episode with Jordan Raynor, but I’ve decided to make this the last running episode for the Refine and Restore podcast. It’s definitely bittersweet. I’ve SO enjoyed the process of sharing podcast episodes, guests and content with you all. It was definitely good for a season. But recently, I had been feeling the pull to complete this podcast earlier than I had planned and it’s all because of the recent early copy of a book I read by Jordan Raynor called Master of One, along with confirmation in prayer with God. You know when you have a good thing you can do but it doesn’t give room to the one thing that God is asking you to do that is going to be that much better? Yeah, that’s me right now in this season. So, keep listening to this episode with Jordan because maybe it will make you think hard about where you’re at in life and whether or not you are where God wants you in this season of life. But let me tell you a bit about Jordan Raynor before we go into today’s podcast episode. Jordan Raynor is a serial entrepreneur and national bestselling author who helps Christians do their most exceptional work for the glory of God and the good of others. His book, Called to Create, became an instant bestseller when it was released in November 2017. His next book, Master of One, will be released in January 2020. In addition to his writing, Jordan serves as the Executive Chairman of Threshold 360, a venture-backed tech startup that has built the world's largest library of 360° experiences of hotels, restaurants, and attractions. Jordan previously served as CEO of the company, following a string of successful ventures of his own. Jordan has twice been selected as a Google Fellow and served in The White House under President George W. Bush. A highly sought-after public speaker on the topic of faith and work, Jordan has spoken at Harvard University, SXSW, TEDx, and many other high-profile events around the world. A sixth-generation Floridian, Jordan lives in Tampa with his wife and their two young daughters. This is one of my favorite episodes where we dig into the topic of calling and purpose and how your ministry can be at home with the kids, at church, or creating products as a serial entrepreneur. As long as you are doing it for the glory of God and loving others in the process, that’s all that really matters. Get the book Master of One! Connect with me on Facebook! Ruth Chou Simons, also known for her company Gracelaced, first started as a water color artist sharing God’s beauty and grace through her art. She’s become a bestselling author of multiple, gorgeous books (I know because I own them), mama entrepreneur, and national speaker. She shares her journey of God’s grace intersecting daily life with word and paintbrush through an online shoppe at GraceLaced.com and her Instagram community of more than a hundred thousand. Ruth and her husband, Troy, are grateful parents to six boys—their greatest adventure. Ruth is the author of Beholding and Becoming: The Art of Everyday Worship, and GraceLaced, which won a 2018 Christian Book Award. She lives in Colorado with her husband Troy and her 6 boys whom she lovingly refers to as “mancubs.” Honestly, I love this woman so much. She contains so much wisdom which we get to experience today on the podcast as we discuss finding God’s glory and grace in the everyday, even sometimes mundane, of life. Welcome back to the R&R Podcast friends, I cannot believe that it’s been 1 full year since I launched this podcast and what an amazing year of growth it’s been for those of you who have been following along each episode. I hope and pray you’ve been growing in your faith, learning tools to help you thrive in life, and that you’ve enjoyed some of the personal stories I’ve shared about the radical adventures of stepping out and walking on water with Jesus over the past several years of my life. The most amazing thing is I decided to start this podcast before I even knew that my book was going to be published with the same name, Refine and Restore. It’s been fun to see how God had this planned better than I could have planned it myself, even though I felt like He was taking too long because I had been pitching it, rather uncertainly for a year, this was 2017-2018 before it became officially contracted with FaithWords in October 2018 and is now going to be released into a book this October 2019. I can’t wait for October 8th when it becomes available for you to have in your hands, although I do have about 300 early readers in my launch team with books and can I just share with you a few things they’ve said about it so far? Vitali said As I read this book it’s like God wrote it for me and what I have been going through. I feel relief and joy for knowing that I can get out of this rut and that it’s all possible with His power and strength.” Renee said “I am a 73-year old grandmother and I feel that this book is applicable to all ages of women, from teens to old folks like me.” Re (a male reader) “she’s addressing women, but this could easily be written to either men or women.” Vickie said Thanks for putting words to feelings and validating what we are afraid others don't feel.” Kelli “I cannot thank you enough for putting words to what was going on in my head and in my heart. I am a writer. I love words. I can describe almost anything - except this - and you have done it for me!” Wow. Thank you! So friend, if you haven’t pre-ordered your copy yet, sounds like this book is worth your time to read and you will thank me later for getting your copy. I also have something special for those that pre-order the book, it’s a 5-session course to help you revive your heart and release your purpose. Basically, it’s the practical application tools that I didn’t put in the book that I help coach you through with this course. And the videos are only 15 minutes or shorter which can either be completed in a 75 minute binge session because you will have access to all 5 of them immediately or you can go through it daily or weekly, applying the tools I share within it to help you grow in your relationship with God and walk out your unique purpose with Him. You can go to RefineAndRestore.com to order as well as claim your free pre-order gift—this course—before October 8th. I’m pretty sure Amazon has it on sale right now too so go grab it and tell your friends before the price goes up and while you can get your pre-order gift to go with it. There’s also a Mega giveaway going on for 5-nights in Hawaii or Florida plus a fun quiz you can check out to discover how happy you are, so go to RefineAndRestore.com and check it out! Happy Post Fourth of July! I hope you had a good one. Our plans were pretty low key as we are still getting used to the sun that never sets here in Idaho. Honestly, it’s so weird that at 10 pm there’s still light in the sky and we had to wait until 10:30 pm for fireworks to start. What the heck? In California where we used to live (for the majority of my life) fireworks always started at 9 pm because by 8:30 pm it was dark friends! So, with a 5 year old and two 7 year olds, waiting until 10:30 pm wasn’t going to happen so it wasn’t much of a show this year. Oh well. I’m still celebrating the freedom we have in our country and am so thankful for those that sacrificed themselves to enable the freedom that we have today. It’s episode 37 and I share about something I’ve struggled with (been still struggling with to an extent). But through the realization of this one truth (and dwelling on this reminder), it has enabled me to keep going when it feels easier to not. In fact, it's helped create 5 transformational inner changes in me and therefore I want to unpack this truth with you so that you can experience it, too. So in this episode, I chat about: 5 transformational inner changes that occurred in me once I realized this one truth and let it soak in. How this one truth relates to God in the Bible. Apparently there are a few diaper innuendos (sorry!) What to do when you are feeling stuck with zero inspiration, zero clarity, zero hope, and zero confidence in something you're wrestling with. What would it be like preparing to go overseas for the next 20 years serving in the rural and dangerous parts of an island, learning a whole new language and eventually sharing with them the gospel message? Could you do this if God called you to this life? Today, I chatted with my good real-life friends and missionaries we support, Michael and Morgan Leblanc, about what it's been like preparing to go overseas and the stigmas people often think when they hear missionary. They are authentic and share their honest struggles, while also expressing their deepest hopes and passion as they enter this call into the wilderness with Jesus. There are healthy ways to resolve conflict with others and then there are unhealthy ways. Often we get caught up in what the world says is best to resolve conflict, but is that really what's best? In today's podcast, Ep. 33, I'm excited to bring back my husband for the third week in a row to discuss the biblical way to resolve conflict. Recently, we dug into this more as we worked to resolve our own areas of conflict with friends and relationships around us, and found some surprising information and instruction in the Bible we hadn't understood before about how to best navigate this for the most positive response. In this episode we talk about: Some of our own areas of conflict that you can probably relate to. The steps the Bible teaches about how best to navigate conflict issues with those around us. How to approach the situation first, and what not to do when you first become irritated with someone. Why it's important to be careful of sharing the issues you are having with another person to your other friends (*hint: this becomes gossip) Personally, I've become better at resolving conflict after applying these principles in my everyday life. In this episode I cover: one of the hardest things I believe all authors face what writing really looks like behind-the-scenes, especially when you're first getting started to become an author multiple mindset shifts over the past few years as I've journeyed on this somewhat hush-hush industry Why you probably shouldn't quit your day job (although making money as an author is more important to me now that I'm the main income earner of the family, it is definitely NOT my primary goal...but this one thing is) When the best time is to start How to find a mentor/coach to help you through the process (and why this has been key to my success) It's important for me to mention that I offer my coaching programs for aspiring authors three times per year and if this is something you've had on your heart for a while to pursue, or perhaps you've been trying to make it as an author for a while now, I can't tell you how important it will be for you to hire a coach to help you get there. It involves my husband quitting his job, selling our dream home, purchasing an RV to live in, investing in a 60-acre ranch with new friends and partners, and walking out a dream we never anticipated being on. But through it all, we've seen how God is directing us, guiding us, and has invited us into this journey with Him. Therefore, we feel the assurance of His presence and know that we are right where we should be. This journey has been anything but easy. And currently, it requires us taking things one day at a time. Which is something we want to invite you into our discussion about today as we navigated through this process. In this episode, we talk about: - When things don't go as planned. - My first experience with a panic attack. - The right and wrong ways to do an investment. - What going from the city to the rural country is actually like. - How God is continuing to refine us and restore our hearts back to His. Last week, I talked about the beginning and how this whole ranch adventure, my husband quitting his job, the RV and us moving from California to Idaho first started. The decision for my husband to quit his job was the pivotal decision that created a wake of change and propelled us onto an adventure with God we never even saw coming. But if you think this transition was seamless, think again. No, it brought us on a million different pivots and a million different decisions to make, ultimately propelling us to one main purpose. A purpose and mission for which we are still discovering and unwrapping right now. Just so you don't think we're super human and super spiritual: - I made a few impulsive decisions that my husband wasn't too thrilled with. - This leap of faith hasn't been without some financial planning on our part, making this transition a lot easier than it would have been. - We still aren't quite making it each month without my husband working (even in a lower income area like the rural hills of Idaho) but I'm thankful for my business ministry, book contracts, and the coaching clients I get to serve. - I had a full-blown panic attack when we arrived at the ranch. So no, I'm not super human. - We've both been struggling with fear multiple times and the inconvenience this has brought to our lives has stretched us thin (me more than him). BUT, we've also been experiencing something incredible through this process. Something that feels almost like I imagine Peter feeling walking on water toward Jesus. An indescribable experience and connection to Him. Seeing how He is using us in ways we never anticipated which has swollen our hearts with such incredible purpose. Doing work too big for us to handle but totally possible with God. Our hearts feel more alive than we've ever felt before and God continues to give us affirmations that we are doing the right thing. Friend, I believe you can experience this too. Perhaps you just need to know someone else who has already taken this leap and can tell you, "It's worth it! Trust me!" Tune in to listen, today! Sometimes that can be difficult when you have older children that have their own lives with lots of things going on. Nailing everyone down at the same time can be the most challenging at least that is what I find being a mom with older children or "ie" young adults. Everyone is just so busy... for me, I don't need all day just a few hours with everyone together would work.  You will be hearing me talk about moms all week so just be prepared after all its #Mothersday week, join me in the morning at 9:00am EST I have a new group I will be introducing. If you miss it don't worry I have podcast check them out on any of these websites.  iTunes http://apple.co/1L4bqKk, Spreaker http://spreaker.com/user/linajones and (Spreaker Alexa, YouTube https://goo.gl/zBXkNf  BTR http://blogtalkradio.com/linajonesdiamondnetwork/ Rss feed http://www.blogtalkradio.com/linajonesdiamondnetwork/podcast  #US #Canada #UK #Tanzania #Namibia #Madegascar #vietnam #Germany #Russia #Sweden #SaudiArabia #Brazil #Guyana #Mexico  https://www.gofundme.com/diamondnetwork-studio

What's up #Diamonds, I called this on "Truthful Tuesday" why because it sounds good let's be honest about something even if it is just that one thing we will be honest about all week. Although we should not lie because lying is not a good thing. I find that people lie all the time even when it’s not necessary this has come to be the nation or world for that matter of lies sometimes it’s as though you don't know who to trust who to believe anymore. Hello! Welcome to my week, so far, the week has been off to a good start, I have a few minor audio problems on last night’s show but got through them, worked them out and had a fantastic show. My co-host for the evening "Jay" did an excellent job and was able to express himself along with 6 other callers... Yep! That's right I had callers that was like too good to be true are you kidding me, I have listeners but know callers I tell you callers help pass the time and I know each of you know that you can call me... That's right call me anytime. don't let me have to break out that #oldschool song 347-237-4697. The easiest way is to goto the LJDNShow.com website on your mobile scroll down and click the button that says "Call the Show" now the number only works during live studio times. I hope you have seen my #beautiful trophy that I am willing to give away for the 2017 #DiamondNetwork Music Awards it’s my way of giving something special to the Independent Music Artist that work hard during the year to bring you good music. Here is the link go and vote for your favorite! We are going to have an #awesome week full of good things. I'll be checking you out all week on social media. Enjoy the show.
