It's Monday, March 24th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Four Eritrean Christian leaders languishing in prison For more than 20 years, four courageous Christian pastors have been unjustly detained in Eritrea, Africa without charges, reports International Christian Concern. Their crime? Practicing their faith and serving their communities. Pastor Haile Naizghe, a former senior accountant with World Vision, dedicated his life to spiritual care. Dr. Kiflu Gebremeskel, a mathematics lecturer with a Ph.D. from the United States, committed to education and faith. Pastor Meron Gebreselasie is an anesthetist who provided critical medical care to his neighbors. Pastor Kidane Weldou, a secondary school biology teacher, inspired many. These men were arrested in the early 2000s for their leadership in local churches. Instead of fostering their invaluable contributions to Eritrean society, they remain imprisoned under appalling conditions, without access to critical medical care. Hebrews 13:3 says, "Remember those who are in prison, as though you were in prison with them." Dr. Gebremeskel has high blood pressure, and is in poor health. And Pastor Nayzgi has severe skin problems and has been suffering for a long time. Sign a petition created by International Christian Concern to demand accountability from the Eritrean government. Click a special link in our transcript today at www.TheWorldview.com. According to Open Doors, Eritrea, Africa is the sixth worst country worldwide for the persecution of Christians. Trump revokes security clearances for Kamala Harris, Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden In a memo published late Friday night, President Donald Trump directed federal agencies to remove the security clearances for former Vice President Kamala Harris, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, former President Joe Biden, and other former high-ranking Democrats and their Republican allies who fought vigorously to prevent Trump from being re-elected in 2024, reports LifeSiteNews.com. Trump wrote, “I have determined that it is no longer in the national interest for the following individuals to access classified information.” Two others denied access are two former Republican U.S. House members, Liz Cheney of Wyoming and Adam Kinzinger of Illinois, who served on the disreputable January 6 Committee. Top Biden prosecutor found dead at 43 after indicting 4 Russians Former U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, Jessica Aber, who was found dead at the age of 43 by Virginia authorities on Saturday, was at the helm of high-profile investigations into intelligence leaks, allegations of war crimes against Russian-linked individuals, and people suspected of providing sensitive U.S. technology to Moscow before she stepped down at the start of the year, reports Newsweek. In late 2023, Aber was also involved in an indictment against four Russia-affiliated individuals charged with torture, inhuman treatment, and unlawful confinement of a U.S. national in Ukraine after Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. In a news release Saturday, the Alexandria Police Department confirmed Aber's death without noting the cause. Boxer George Foreman, a devout Christian, dead at 76 Former heavyweight boxing champion George Foreman, known as much for his gregarious personality as his vicious right hook, died Friday, reports ABC News. He was 76 years old. A two-time heavyweight champion, he also won gold at the 1968 Mexico City Olympics against Russian boxer Ionas Chepulis. ANNOUNCER: “The fight will continue at the count of nine. Chepulis looks in very bad shape. George is going after the Russian. The referee warns George for holding and hitting. “Foreman throwing bombs in there. Ripping punches by George Foreman. He's all over the Russian. Chepulis looks all through. George pouring it on, and the referee stops the fight in the second round. It's all over. George Foreman wins the gold medal. “There's George holding up the American flag in the center of the ring before thousands of impressed spectators and millions more of television viewers. An inspiring ending to Olympic boxing at the Mexico City 19th Olympiad.” Appearing on 100 Huntley Street in April 2013, Foreman shared his testimony, on how God got his attention in a near death experience which he chronicled in his spiritual autobiography entitled, God In My Corner. FOREMAN: “I never could lose that thought: ‘You're gonna die. You're gonna die.' And in a dirty old dressing room, when I had all these wonderful homes, I was about to die. “I heard a voice within me say, ‘You believe in God. Why are you scared to die?' And I was afraid. I was scared. And I realized it was God talking with me. I didn't believe in religion. I thought that was for -- you got to be a sissy. Everybody who had taken up religion in those days had lost a wife or a husband or a boxing match, and they were carrying their Bibles as a baby. “I tried to make a deal in that dressing room. I said, ‘I can still box and give money to charity and for cancer.' And I heard a voice say, ‘I don't want your money. I want you!' And I remember tears. The first time I heard anyone turn down money, number one. Jesus Christ is coming alive in me. That's what happened to me in that dressing room.” In his post-boxing career, Foreman later saw success pitching the now-omnipresent countertop grill that bears his name. FOREMAN: “The George Foreman Grilling Machine is very special. Everyone should have one. Number one because this grill has something no other grill has: slants. You put your food in and the grease rolls down.” Unbelievably, he sold 100 million Foreman Grills, earning $5 million a month at one point. Idaho enacts law protecting conscience rights for medical professionals Idaho has enacted a new law designed to protect healthcare providers from having to perform or participate in procedures, like abortions or transgender surgeries, that violate their deeply held beliefs, reports The Christian Post. Last Wednesday, Idaho's Republican Governor Brad Little signed House Bill 59, also known as the Medical Ethics Defense Act. Samaritan's Purse needs volunteers and money to help storm victims And finally, as The Worldview reported on March 18th, severe weather took the lives of 42 Americans and left 100,000 without power across seven states. Samaritan's Purse said it's sending volunteers to assist with recovery efforts in Missouri and Oklahoma after powerful storms, fueled by heavy winds, ripped through the two states, reports The Christian Post. John Schultz, a Samaritan's Purse staffer, asked for help in Southeastern Missouri. SCHULTZ: “The wind is still continuing to rage after these storms that caused nearly 100 tornadoes across this whole region over the past weekend. So many homeowners have lost a lot here. “We need additional help from volunteers to come out and serve the homeowners in Jesus' name right here in Poplar Bluff, and north of here in Piedmont, Missouri.” If you would like to volunteer your help or send money to help the victims of the storms in the name of Jesus, click a special link through our transcript today at www.TheWorldview.com. 1 John 3:17 asks, “If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need, but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?” Close And that's The Worldview on this Monday, March 24th, in the year of our Lord 2025. June 21st was National Indigenous People's Day in Canada, a day to celebrate the rich heritage of our nation's Indigenous peoples. Since 2008, when Prime Minister Stephen Harper led Members of Parliament from all parties in a formal apology for the abuses of residential schools, the issue of national reconciliation has been at the forefront. The 2008 Apology launched the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC). It was tasked with documenting the abuses and their impacts. The TRC detailed 94 calls to action to help bring deeper reconciliation. In 2021, Indigenous Canadians accounted for 5% of our total population, just under 2 million. The Indigenous population grew 9.4% from 2016 to 2021, almost twice the pace of growth of non-Indigenous Canadians over that same time period. According to Stats Canada, they are expected to reach 3 million in the next 20 years. Over half of First Nations people live in Western Canada, and almost a quarter live in Ontario. Indigenous peoples and their stories are an integral part of our past, present, and future. This is why I'm excited about the work of our guest today.Crystal Lavallee is Métis and served as the producer of "First Peoples Voices" with 100 Huntley Street. She is also the Founder and the Director of I Am Compelled. This educational charity uses multimedia presentations to tell the history of Canada from various angles and teach students to give back to their community. She recently completed a documentary regarding the 1885 Frog Lake Massacre in Saskatchewan and is here today to share all about it and how we, as Canadians, can continue to walk in truth and reconciliation with the Indigenous peoples of Canada. How could a two-year-old orphan boy, taken out of his country by mistake in 1975 from halfway around the world, now impact the world as a grown man in 2024? In this month's podcast, you'll hear a story of just how that happened! Google “Orphan 32,” and you will read how Thanh Campbell was taken from his war-torn country of Vietnam and came to Canada as part of the last flight out of Saigon in 1975 with 56 other orphans. Thanh has written his memoir Orphan 32 and, most recently, his illustrated children's book, Lost and Found: Orphan 32 Goes Home. He has been invited to be a guest on such programs as CBC Radio, TVO, Canada AM, and 100 Huntley Street, with a chance to share his life story with the nation. As a keynote speaker, Thanh has been invited to speak at The United Nations in Toronto, Fortune 500 companies, business groups, conferences, and schools across Canada. Most recently, Thanh was appointed as the Canadian Director of Partners Worldwide Canada. Founded in 2011, Partners Worldwide Canada pursues ending poverty around the world through business so that all may have an abundant life. Thanh lives in Drayton, ON, with his wife, Teresa. They have six children and one crazy dog, Theo. This month, Dean and Thanh will discuss: Thanh's remarkable story of being born into and rescued from the brutal violence of the Vietnam War, immigrating to Canada, and being adopted into a loving Canadian family; How he hit rock bottom in his life, and met Jesus there; How God worked powerfully and redemptively to help Thanh find his long-lost Vietnamese family later in life; The importance of finding identity in Christ as a son of God; What a “redemptive business” is and how Thanh and Partners Worldwide are transforming the lives of people in poverty; The hope for the hopeless that can only be found in Jesus! In this podcast, we will hear this amazing story of the value of family, faith, and the power of hope in God's great plan of redemption. Don't miss it!

The Holy Spirit is our teacher. I think there is a certain comfort we have to have with not understanding everything and that's okay. That's where faith comes in but I think having people who can walk with you through the Bible, especially when you're starting is super important. But I would just say there's so many ways to do it and stop condemning ourselves for not doing it enough, doing it perfectly, you know, understanding it enough...just the freedom to just be an explorer and, you know, just be a learner, even if you don't understand it, just keep putting it into you. I really do believe the Bible... it says it's sharper than a two-edged sword, that it brings life to us, and I think there's truth about that, that we need to return to because it's just really easy to leave it behind. And then we're thinking things that aren't anything near how God thinks about things, which is completely opposite to how you would naturally think...I think 100%, completely opposite. So yeah, renew our minds. We need to do it.---Watch television host and journalist, Cheryl Weber being interviewed by Joanna la Fleur. As a television host, global humanitarian, public speaker and media producer/journalist, Cheryl Weber has always had a passion for life-transformative stories and global change. In this episode, we hear from Suzie Eller about how to have restoration through prayer. Suzanne (Suzie) Eller is the author of 12 books. Her most recent is Prayer Starters: Talking with God about Hard Times. Suzie served as a writer and speaker with Proverbs 31 Ministries for 14 years. She's a co-host, along with Holley Gerth and Jennifer Watson, of More Than Small Talk and host of Prayer Starters, a daily prayer podcast. Suzie is a wife to a guy she still likes a lot, mom to 3 grown children and their spouses, "Gaga" to six littles, and a 2-time breast cancer survivor. If you can describe her in one word, it's this: grateful. 5 KEY ELEMENTS TO RESTORATIVE PRAYER Take the pressure off of prayer (A point of entry - honesty, vulnerability, authenticity) You do you (unique expression - walk, painting, workout) Just show up ( we have uncertainty tangled around our hearts) Tell God all the things (“I want you to know God I'm mad at you.” “God, I feel lost.” “I don't know what to do”) when we release those things that are weighty they no longer have room in our heart, God takes resistance. All the things don't have room in our hearts… Slow it down (go into the word of God for a two-way conversation, pause when you feel the pull). You can connect with Suzie by checking out the Prayer Starters podcast. It's a daily 2-3 minute podcast with the KLRC podcast network. https://pod.link/1624531825 Until next week embrace the freedom to kick your should out the door.

Escaping Our Fallen Nature by David PiperAs the fall of this tree following an ordinary weather event surprised its community, revealing that the roots beneath the surface had decayed, the minor turbulences in our own lives will often reveal that the foundation on which we have built our lives has severe deterioration just beneath the surface also. It is when we come to realize that our falling flat on our faces was caused by our corrupt hearts that many of us will then look outside of ourselves for an escape. The scripturally based explanations in this book, plus the stories of how God always provides a way of escape, inspires us to acknowledge the only way of us successfully escaping our fallen nature is exchanging it for a new one. Escaping Our Fallen Nature will challenge us to examine our hearts to see if we have this new nature, and if we do, discerning which one is in control. While exposing the lies that have hindered us from getting free, this book will cause us to appreciate our new nature's ability to generate a power that will outlast our troubles, defeat our temptations, erupt our joy, and grow our assurance of eternal life. For the last 25 years Mr. Piper has been working as a prayer partner for the Crossroads' TV program 100 Huntley Street. Prior to that, he pastored churches in 4 provinces in Western Canada over an 11-year period. He and his wife have a married son and two grandchildren. https://www.amazon.com/Escaping-Fallen-Nature-David-Piper-ebook/dp/B09YKSLDK8/ref=sr_1_1?crid=2KGCULL5O1Z3I&keywords=ESCAPING+OUR+FALLEN+NATURE&qid=1669753219&s=books&sprefix=escaping+our+fallen+nature%2Cstripbooks-intl-ship%2C554&sr=1-1https://www.escapingourfallennature.com/http://www.booksidepress.com/http://www.bluefunkbroadcasting.com/root/twia/12822bsp.mp3
Christmas is often thought of as the season of joy. There are twinkly lights, joyous carols, and delightful sweets around every corner... but for many, this season brings about different emotions: frustration, loneliness, or sadness. If you aren't feeling so "sparkly" and joyful this season, you aren't alone. Jesus has come to meet you right where you are... in the middle of this AND that. Today, my friend, Nancy Hicks is here to share with us about holding both grief AND hope. Nancy lost her son, David, at the age of 28, about 18 months ago. She vulnerably shares with us about her grieving process, the questions she's asked of God, and the thread of hope she's clinging to. Nancy Hicks is a dynamic, relevant Christian speaker, teacher and writer whose passion is to ignite women to confidence and power in Christ. Nancy has been in professional communication her entire career. From singing on the main stage in concert and musical theater across Canada to spokesperson on QVC, she has used these gifts of communication to serve her local church through preaching, teaching and leading. After earning her master's degree in theology from Palmer Seminary of Eastern University, Nancy launched her international speaking ministry, Nancy Hicks Live. Today, Nancy inspires women by equipping them to be grounded in Jesus Christ while wrestling with the often uncomfortable intersection of faith, organized religion and the realities of this world. The author of Meant to Live: Living in Light of the Good News, Nancy has been featured on Hallmark's Home & Family, The Jesus Calling Podcast, Trinity Broadcast Network, 100 Huntley Street, as well as in Relevant Magazine, Propel Women, Publishers Weekly, The Christian Post, Christian News Journal, Philadelphia Weekly and more. She and her husband, Cam, have been married since 1990 and have two sons—Aaron, who is married to his darling wife, Rachel, and their beloved David who now lives in heaven after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Northern Nigeria is one of the most dangerous places on earth to be a follower of Jesus. According to Open Doors, more than 4,600 Nigerian Christians were killed for their faith in 2021, and those are only the cases that were reported. Militant Islamic groups are determined to eliminate Christianity from the country. These groups often target Christian women, using kidnapping, forced marriage and conversion to Islam as a means of demoralizing believers. In this edition of the Closer to the Fire podcast, host Greg Musselman will introduce you to four young Christian women who are receiving greatly needed counselling and ministerial care so they can overcome the traumatic attacks of Islamic militants and experience renewed hope for the future. Greg also shares how you can be a part of their healing journey by supporting Mara's House, a trauma centre for Nigerian women and girls. Additionally, he examines the reasons behind the horrific levels of violence perpetrated against followers of Jesus in Africa's most populous nation and what we can do to help many of these innocent victims. While Armenia is considered the world's oldest Christian nation, its very existence is being threatened by the neighbouring country of Azerbaijan. Churches in Armenia continue to be desecrated by the Azeri military, and now the country has been given an ultimatum: If they refuse to surrender its southern border with Iran, there will be war. In this episode of Closer to the Fire, host Greg Musselman is joined by Dr. Haig Kherlopian, the lead pastor of the Armenian Evangelical Church of New York. Dr. Kherlopian has studied the ancient Christian heritage of Armenia to better understand the country's current situation, as well as the 1,700 years of persecution against Armenian followers of Jesus. Today, I cannot wait for you to hear my conversation with Chuck Tate as we discuss his book, *41 Will Come. The number 40 is a significant number in the Bible; it usually involves a time of waiting or testing. Chuck points on in his book, that the number 41 is also significant. For example, the people of Israel wandered the wilderness for 40 years and on Year 41, they entered the Promised Land. Episode 447 Reverend Earl Smith is the team chaplain for the 2019 NFC Champion San Francisco 49ers as well as the NBA's Golden State Warriors. In 1983, at the age of 27, Smith became the youngest person ever hired as a protestant chaplain by the California Department of Corrections. Smith was born and reared in Stockton, Calif. The cycle of events in his life came to a head in 1975, when he was shot six times while living the life of a small-time gangster. Although expected to die, Smith’s father’s faith, prayers and love seemed to bring him through. The words of his father have motivated him since that event: “You are a rebel, but you are God’s rebel, and He is going to use you to His glory.” In 1983, Smith arrived at San Quentin just like everyone thought he would. Labeled as a gang member and criminal from a young age, Smith was expected to do some time, but after a brush with death during a botched drug deal, Smith’s soul was saved and his life path altered forever. From that moment on, Smith knew God had an unusual mission for him, and he became a minister to the lost souls sitting on death row. For 23 years, Smith played chess with Charles Manson, witnessed 12 executions, and negotiated truces between rival gangs. But most importantly, Smith helped the prisoners of San Quentin find redemption and hope, and understand that it is still possible to find God’s grace and mercy from behind bars. Smith is the author of the book “Death Row Chaplain,” released in 2014. The ministry of Earl Smith is known across the nation. He has appeared on numerous broadcasts, including HBO, CNN, The CBS Morning News, The 700 Club, Trinity Broadcasting Network, 100 Huntley Street, The Discovery Channel and The History Channel. Smith has been featured in such publications as People’s Weekly, Ministry Today, Newsweek, Ebony, Christianity Today, Guidepost, The African Americans and Time. Earl has received two “Angel” awards for excellence in media. On this episode of the podcast, Reverend Earl shares the story of faith with the 2019 49ers, what that moment was like for him to see San Francisco go to the Super Bowl, dealing with adversity and ministering to those that are going through difficult times and how faith has changed and evolved in the NFL over the last 30 years. You can listen to Earl Smith's first interview as he tells his incredible story from Episode 80 of the podcast here.

What is your response when life doesn't go as planned?Do you doubt God's love for you? Question your purpose? Struggle to find your identity, when what you thought would define your life no longer exists as a possibility? On this episode of the More to Be Podcast, I'm joined by Sheridan Voysey, a fellow writer and speaker, as well as broadcaster, for a deeply powerful discussion about what to do when life doesn't go as planned. Sheridan, like many of us, experienced the dashing of dreams and hopes, both professionally and personally. He recounts how walking the road of faith while waiting on God for so many unanswered prayers shaped his identity and purpose. In his most recent book, The Making of Us: Who We Can Become When Life Doesn't Go to Planned, as well as in our conversation, Sheridan invites us to step into his story about his struggle with infertility and becoming a childless family with his wife, Merryn. But this episode isn't simply about their hopes and dreams rewritten -- it's about all of us and what to do when God's ways don't line up with our expectations. Bruce Van Natta is the founder and president of Sweet Bread Ministries. He is a common, everyday person that serves the Living God who is anything but ordinary. His journey from prodigal son to full time ministry stretched out over three decades berfore culminating in a display of God’s power and grace. Starting at an early age in Bruce’s life the Lord proved Himself faithful repeatedly, despite tragedies and countless bad choices and decisions made by Bruce. After high school the Lord called Bruce into ministry, but instead of being obedient he ran away and chose his own path which led to more problems and addictions. As the years passed the Lord kept calling and knocking at the door of Bruce’s heart. Slowly things began to change as the Holy Spirit continued the sanctification process in Bruce’s life. Eventually he was brought to the startling revelation that God’s grace and mercy are not reserved only for those who have made all the right choices, can recite 100 Bible verses, or stand behind a pulpit—-God’s love is for everyday people, everyday! In 2006 Bruce was crushed underneath a semi-truck and was at the verge of life and death when he had an “out of body” experience. During this near death experience he got to see the two angels that the Lord had sent to save his life. Bruce is the only person Doctors can find who has ever lived from some of the injuries he had. (If you wish to hear more about this go to the “Media Center” and view or listen to Bruce’s 30 minute testimony.) Bruce wrote the book “Saved By Angels” which is available at most book stores and on the net. The story has garnered international attention recently so Bruce has been on; Sid Roth’s “It’s Supernatural” TV and radio shows, the Trinity Broadcasting Network, and 5 episodes of the “It’s a New Day” TV show. He has also been on “100 Huntley Street” and the “Nite Lite” TV shows as well as several radio shows and his story has aired on the “700 Club” several times. In Decmber 2009 “Guideposts” magazine did a feature article on him for their Christmas issue and “Charisma Magazine” told his story in July 2010. Since recovering from this accident he and his family have gone into full-time ministry sharing their gripping testimony wherever the Lord leads. They have felt led to not only minister to the body of Christ but also to those in need, resulting in building an orphanage in Honduras and a church in India with home equity as well as doing prison and jail ministry. He and his wife Lori and their four children-Lauren, Caleb, Jacob, and Emily live in Wisconsin. Midwatch interviews Christian authors, artists, movie producers, indie film makers, ministers and just about anyone with a story of faith.
