Do you feel like other moms have it all together, while you struggle silently? Are you really enjoying the journey of parenthood… or are you just trying to survive? You are not alone! You want so much to be a "good" mom. Yet, you're afraid you aren't. There's hope. You are on the right track. Alli Worthington joins Stephanie today to address the mom who is ready to live a life outside the unachievable cliche of “Supermom” – regardless of the season of life you are in. This is NOT a conversation about parenting – this is a conversation about your personal wellbeing as you navigate motherhood. It is about your own wellness, so that you can love others well. It is about embracing a healthy mom mindset. So, whether you are considering starting a family, or whether your adult children are now raising their own babies, this conversation is for you! Also, this conversation will be eye-opening to all the men who want to understand how the moms in their lives struggle to hold it all together. Do you have a sister, daughter, or wife who is a mom too? This is for you! If you've forgotten what it means to care for yourself while caring for others, this conversation is for you. If you want to feel energized by motherhood, this conversation is for you. If you constantly feel weighed down by mom guilt, this conversation is for you. If you can't stop comparing yourself to other moms, this conversation is for you. If you're looking for ways to protect your emotional, spiritual, and physical health, this conversation is for you. If you can't break the cycle of pleasing others, this conversation is for you. If you crave more meaningful relationships with your children, this conversation is for you. Alli tells us, “Drop the “good mom” myths that have been stealing your happiness. Rediscover the beautiful, joy-filled, sacred and secret art of confident motherhood.” If you're ready to rewrite the parts of motherhood that are stressful and exhausting so you can raise your little–or not-so-little–humans with a healthy mom mindset, it's time to discover the secret art of confident motherhood. MORE ABOUT “REMAINING YOU WHILE RAISING THEM” You're allowed to enjoy motherhood- and pursue it in your own unique way. Remaining You While Raising Them will give you tools and a framework you can return to over and over as you pursue a life you love while raising children you love. Alli says, “I know you want to be a wonderful mother. And you're worried you aren't. Whether you arrived at motherhood by birth, adoption, or marriage, you want to get it right. Me too. I spent too many years caught in the trap of lies that surround modern motherhood. I want more for you than that. You're worth it! This book will reassure you that you ARE worth it and give you the tools to enjoy motherhood more! Remaining You While Raising Them, may just change your life.” PREORDER TODAY FOR ALL SORTS OF BONUS CONTENT More at https://alliworthington.com/remaining-you-while-raising-them BONUS | QUESTIONS TO GO DEEPER, ON YOUR OWN OR WITH A FRIEND 1. Today, I welcome April Corbett to the show. She is an engineer, project manager, and an amazing creative. April and I met at Blissdom back in November 2019. I was instantly drawn to her message. Back in the early summer after as the civil unrest in the US was boiling over, I reached out to April to have a conversation. A conversation about race, specifically. As a white woman, I knew I needed to take a step back to listen and learn. April was kind enough to spend time talking with me about situations she has been in and helped me to see places where I can change. After our first conversation, I knew I had to have her come on the podcast to share this message. This conversation is long and covers a lot of ground. But this conversation is good, deep, and timely. I hope this podcast helps you see another perspective so we can continue to fight for equality and unity in our country. It’s more important than ever that we come together, offering respect and understanding of one another. I'm with the amazing Carlos Whittaker to talk about his dramatic career shift from leading worship to becoming a best-selling author and speaker.   We'll also discuss what it means to kill the proverbial spiders in our lives and how we can truly pursue a life of freedom and abundance. You are going to love this one!   In this episode we discuss: 1. His dramatic career change 2. How he landed his first speaking gig at the White House 3. How to really change our behavior and our lives 4. How to kill the proverbial spiders in our life Favorite quotes: 1. I felt like God was telling me it was time to stop leading worship and singing and start writing a book. And, for me because I did all the work ahead of time with my blog—I had spent years building a tribe of people that were used to reading what I had to say, that wasn't going to be a hard transition for them. But, for me, it was scary. How in the world was I going to do the speaking and the writing thing? 2. I feel like a lot of worship leaders come up to me and say, “I think I want to do something else.” I always say, “Awesome. How have you been building into what that next thing is? That is what you are going to need to do right now and it's going to take a little time.” 3.  My father said to me, “Carlos, I've watched you your entire life clean the cobwebs of sin. You can no longer clean the cobwebs. You must kill the spider, the root of your behavior.”   In this episode I answer these questions: 1. I saw you taught on “mom guilt” for Mother's Day. Can I watch the sermon anywhere and can you share some wisdom from it? (47:33) 2. What version of the Bible do you use? My church uses NIV and NLT and my Bible Study uses ESV. I want to make sure that I'm using the right versions and I trust your opinion.  (55:40) 3. Did you have a mentor who taught you how to communicate professionally from the stage and on your show? (57:15) Links to great things we discussed: 1. Kill the Spider 2. Moment Maker 3. 21 Day Detox- Dr. Caroline Leaf 4. The OA on Netflix 5. Walking With God by John Eldridge 6. The Samsung Frame 7. Prime Time Primer from Bare Minerals 8. Blissdom 9. FABFITFUN- use promo code ALLI 10. Mother's Day Message (I start about 33 minutes in!)   Hope you loved this episode! In 2006, after 12 years of being a stay-at-home mom to FIVE BOYS, Alli Worthington walked into a bookstore and was overwhelmed by the desire to write a book. But about what? She had no idea where to start, so she went home to her computer, got on her dial-up internet (ah, the nostalgia!) and began googling "how to get a book deal."  One of the results told her she could get a book deal if she had a blog and a large following. So... she googled, "what is a blog?" Now, 13 years later, Alli has authored two books, "Fierce Faith" and "Breaking Busy." She's also a podcaster ("the Alli Worthington Show"), an entrepreneur, and co-founded The Blissdom Conference. P.S. - I attended Blissdom in 2013 in Dallas and loved it so much I'm returning this year (2019) in Nashville, and will be a Community Leader again!  In this episode, I asked Alli what gets her up in the morning (she has a very "real-life" answer!); how she stays organized; how she builds community; how she sets boundaries online; and how she decides when to take a risk in her business. Alli also tells us about Blissdom's beginnings, its hiatus, and what we can expect from the conference in 2019. I just love Alli to pieces. She's so down to earth and as a fellow boy mom, I'm inspired by her relationships with her boys.  Follow Alli on Instagram and visit her website at www.alliworthington.com.

Her latest big adventure around the world. 3. How God redeems food.    Favorite quotes: 1. (On dreams) I would love to encourage our friends if you have an idea it may not be something that you are going to do or act on for another 3 or 5 or 10 years, but when that day comes, it will be so much more beautiful and so much more richer because you waited.   2. I think for some of us, we forget that God has great, big adventures for us and some of them happen on the other side of the world in a different country, and some of them happen right in our own towns, and in our own communities with the people all around. And that's the thing that I love about Taste and See, is that it's this invitation not to go on this great big culinary food adventure but for you to take your own.   3. The unique giftings, the unique areas, the unique appearance, the unique backgrounds, those things that make you unique are what God wants to use, I believe, to help flavor and influence this world. In this episode I answer these questions: 1. Please share a funny memory you have with your husband. (36:30) 2. How can you grow a strong community early in your faith walk? (40:25) 3.
