On a real note, who's struggling with physical insecurities? I have been!! And this week I read 1 Samuel 10-11 and something jumped out to me that never has before. The noting of Saul's physical appearance. As I was studying this, I had a revelation about my own physical appearance. I was designed, completely, by God. Every inch. Every part I like and don't like. And God will can use physical insecurities for His purpose! And He can use them to further the Kingdom of God!! How cool! I hope this perspective shift helps you give the Lord your physical insecurities and helps you even talk more about them. In hopes that more conversations, can lead to more people being set free from the lies they are believing about themselves! I pray this nontypical physical insecurity conversation helps remind you that you were created purposely to further the Kingdom of God. EXACTLY AS YOU ARE!! ** Trigger warning: we talk about eating disorders in this episode.  On this episode of our sleepover series, MM invites her friend Abby Dawson on to share her story. Abby shares her personal walk through an eating disorder and struggle with body image and how her community played a huge role in helping her get the care she needed. A lot of times with disordered eating, we hardly realize that our eating is actually disordered. Abby opens up about her experience with this and how you can let a loved one in or how you can be the loved one to help. She establishes the importance of distinguishing between parental ways to help and how a friend can help. Abby emphasizes how you can have the conversation with a loved one you care about but not become accusatory. They also share about the importance of interceding on the person's behalf who may be struggling.  We hope that this conversation reminds you that you are not alone and that we are In This Together. And we hope that it helps you gain the courage to speak up about any struggles you may be facing.  Speaking of speaking up, we encourage you to reach out to a parent/mentor/a friend/the local church/Christian counselor if this is something you are struggling with and if you want to continue the conversation Abby's and the In This Together instagram is linked here and would love to help you if you need anything at all!  Abby's Instagram DMs are open! Our guest today has a unique window into the vast creative potential contained in the world of dreams. Della Burford has recorded her dreams as “dream mandalas” for the past 40 years!   Della Burford is an award-winning painter and best selling author of 7 books, she is based on Vancouver Island, Canada. She studied the Mische Technique of painting in Vienna and showed in many of the Society of Art of Imagination shows in Montreal, Ottawa, New York, London, and Peru. She won a prize as the best Graphic Art in an Art Show in Moscow and spoke on Art and Dreams. Her artistic stories have been performed in New York at the Museum of Natural History, Brooklyn Academy of Music, Citycorp, in Washington at the Smithsonian Institute, Korea, Guatemala, and Bali. Her play, Magical Earth Secrets has been performed for seven years in Japan, and Miracle Galaxy is now being performed. Her book “Journey to Dodoland” was turned into an e-zine and a website that was sponsored by Switfshire and has had more than 22 million views worldwide. Della was mentored by a shaman who studied with Carl Jung and also studied dreams with Robert Moss and Dream Yoga with Tenzin Wagyal Rinpoche. She started painting her dream wheels in 1975, creating one complete wheel for every year. The dream wheels have 3 rings: the center ring is for important everyday events following the seasons; the outer ring is dreams that are creative, inspirational and wise dreams (you can write a title for the dream); and the middle is small drawings which are symbols and like the title reminds you of the dream and is a portal to return. Whether you are a teenager or young adult at home, or a parent of a kid at any age, this episode will encourage you and serve as a reminder to give yourself lots of grace. Perfection doesn't exist in parenting or growing up... but intentionality, kindness, and healthy conflict resolution can. /// Sandy Kipp is a Christian humbly attempting to serve God and seek His direction in her life. She is the proud wife of an incredible man, Mike, and mom of two great kids, Spencer and McKenna (now both in college!). Her passion for nutrition has found her a career and ministry as a dietitian nutritionist helping individuals navigate health issues through diet and lifestyle changes. She  loves exploring both nationally and internationally and during the warm weather enjoys lake surfing with friends and family and getting lost out in the garden especially when she is  joined by their frolicking kitties, DJ and Zoe. But her happiest place is sitting around a table for hours with family and friends, enjoying delicious food and great company. /// McKenna Kipp is a freshman in college at Point Loma Nazarene University, studying graphic design. She is originally from Nampa, Idaho, where she was raised by two amazing parents, Mike and Sandy, and with an older brother, Spencer. She's passionate about the Lord and helping bring the good news of Christ to others. "America is rigidly divided between red and blue." That's what we're constantly being told by pundits, politicians and media outlets, both left and right. But what if that wasn't quite true?On a surprisingly large number of issues, Americans agree on the broad outlines of public policy. Author, conflict mediator, and social entrepreneur, Bill Shireman makes the case that the middle 70% of the public should have a much greater say in who gets elected to make laws and decide policy."All it takes is a small number of folks who are aware of how we're being gamed to build a bridge between the political left and right, Bill says. "We need a relatively small percentage of voters who will not divide the way we are triggered to divide," Bill argues that the media and political industry make money and gain power by dividing Americans and making us mad at the other side."The middle 70%" does not necessarily mean moderates. Bill calls them "the silenced majority of us who are common-sense, reality-based voters who can work out our differences." Some are conservatives or progressives, while others have a mix of opinions on social and economic issues. The House of Representatives vote for the debt ceiling bill is an example of what Bill is talking about. When we hear the word peer we often think of others with similar backgrounds, cultures, likes. When  Above Ground Podcast refers to our peers, we are speaking to our brothers and sisters out here who share a similar, anxiety, depression or a more severe type of mental illness or disorder of some type. May is closing fast and that means Mental Health Awareness Month will be off the calendar once again, but as we dawn on our fourth year of stomping stigma and staying above, let's  suit up and dive into the peerspective .  Hey it's once again time for another episode because hope won't spread itself. This week is two hundred five and Will and Tim are talking about what the ideas of peer work and being a peer are when it's in relation to mental health and the journey of healing. Connection being an essential need might hold the first key to why to the best therapy don't look like therapy at all.  Join us for a peer meet up at the Sages Circle 443 Saratoga Rd Glenville NY on Sunday May 21st, at 1pm. Sign up at SagesEvents.com and let us know if you're planning to attend. We'd love to see you. Plus the store is Nippertown's premier metaphysical gift shop and spiritual center.   Huge shout outs to everyone Will met at Tulip Fest last Sunday.  Including a special meet-up to say hey to Nipper!!  Special thanks to Laura DePolito  for grabbing this pic.  Also wanted to say thanks Tatiana and all at Noteworthy Resources!! We were fortunate to be at her brand new Community Center and Indoor Skate Park at 930 Broadway Commercial Suite 1, Albany, NY 12207. Our table was very busy having conversations with many individuals. Providing  resources and receiving well wishes  for being there and allowing space for others to express their feelings.  It was a special day topped off by a  raffle win for Will,  when he won this deck and and wheels donated by https:/townandcountryskate.com  of Scotia NY. Go see Kyle for a gnarly setup. Special thanks to Jake from In This Together. And it was great meeting Scott who has deep old school roots to the pod. Always awesome making new friends. Please come back every Wednesday for a new episode. Next week , Hudson Valley Author, Kelli Kane. Until we meet again get well, be safe ,stay Above.

This month on MegaDads Checkpoint Evan is joined by HypeCaster (aka Tony) and Howard Hong, Co-Head of Volunteer Staff at 2D-Con, the biggest video game convention in Minnesota (and favorite of the MegaDads crew). Midnight Suns gets a rundown along with Deep Rock Galactic and Ghost Song, which together kind of sounds like the lineup at a 60's outdoor concert.
